    The Demon Hunter Class - by Vultrae

    Demon hunters, disciples of Illidan Stormrage, uphold a dark legacy, one that frightens their allies and enemies alike. The Illidari embrace fel and chaotic magics—energies that have long threatened the world of Azeroth—believing them necessary to challenge the Burning Legion. Wielding the powers of demons they’ve slain, they develop demonic features that incite revulsion and dread in fellow elves.

    Nether Bond

    Demon Hunters, although they usually work alone, realize the value of working as a team to take down demonic monstrosities. They draw on their connection to the Nether to create a spiritual bond with other creatures, sharing their pain as well as their healing. This card allows Demon Hunters to restore some of the health they may have used up by attacking with their weapon or with Metamorphosis.

    Illidari Warglaive

    A simple, yet effective weapon that can be used for aggro or for board control. It's quite versatile, fitting since one of Demon Hunter's major traits in WoW is Versatility. It can be used to take out those pesky turn 1 or 2 minions that are hard to deal with, or to deal early face damage to pressure your opponent.

    Felblade

     

    Something that just about every class has access to is a turn two or three removal spell for early game removal. I wanted to do something different than the standard "2 mana, deal 3 damage" or "1 mana, deal 2 damage" spells, and thought this was a nice twist on the standard removal spells in the game. It can weaken or even destroy those pesky early game minions that are difficult to deal with, especially if you are saving your weapons for other threats.

     

     

    Dark Temptation

    Every class has card draw. Demon Hunters need card draw too if they want to be successful in destroying their demonic foes. 

    Illidari Adept

     

    A simple vanilla minion with basic stats, but sacrifices its attack for higher health. Allows you to maintain board control for a few turns and can deal killing blows to weakened minions or early game minions. Good against Aggro Decks like Zoolock and Shaman.

     

     

    Netherwalker

    I've decided not to give many Taunt cards to Demon Hunters simply because I wanted to focus more on the other characteristics of the class. I thought soft Taunt cards would be interesting to implement and this card has a similar effect to Violet Illusionist, so your opponent will have to remove it in order to continue dealing face damage. Great against Aggro decks or even in control matchups.

    Chaos Nova

    One of my favorite DH spells in World of Warcraft is Chaos Nova, it stuns nearby enemies and also damages them. Since stunning is already somewhat of a mechanic in the form of Freeze, I decided a simple, but effective, AoE spell would be a good design choice. This is similar to Hellfire but different because it only damage minions, and enemy minions, so no damage is dealt to friendly characters or the enemy hero, as is the case with Hellfire.

    Metamorphosis

             

     

    The Demon Hunter class just wouldn't be complete without one of their signature abilities being a spell. Metamorphosis transforms you into a demon, which lasts for three turns. Your health remains the same as it was when you cast the spell, and all damage taken will still affect your hero when the transformation is reversed. The only difference is that your Hero will have +3 Attack on your turns and gains 8 Armor while in Demon Form. Tokens are shown in the spoiler tag.

    Bound Abyssal

    Demon Hunters don't just hunt demons, they capture, imprison, and interrogate them too. Some demons even work with the Demon Hunters. I wanted to give Demon Hunters some Demons to reflect this, and keeping in line with traditional Infernal/Abyssal AoE damage effects from the Warlock cards, this card is a form of AoE in a minion that can help a lot when your opponent floods the board but also has consequences for you as well, so you have to plan your attacks carefully in order to ensure you get the most value out of the AoE effect.

     

    Spirit Bomb

     

     

     

    Just a filler, simple spell that could be a staple. Great for delivering a killing blow to a weak opponent or for getting rid of those hard-to-remove late game legendaries such as Ragnaros the Firelord and Nefarian.

    Imagine this triggering with Brann Bronzebeard twice on a Dopplegangster, three 12/12's, crazy combo potential but it'd require a lot of luck and good draws to pull it off.

    So the game plan of the deck is to cycle heavy until you can play a bunch of 2/2's and 1/1's?

    To be honest I don't see much strength in Dopplegangster without it being buffed while in hand, especially as a sole win condition. It seems to was designed to synergize well with either Goons faction or Evolve.

    But who knows, perhaps there'll be more cards making it more powerful outside of Goons. Besides, might be some cool Jade Lotus stuff to try for Rogues as well.

    I'm just super sleepy atm to try to figure out how many total waves of 5 x 2/2's you can produce in the best case scenario.

     I think you're right about that. I wasn't even thinking of its synergy with the hand buffs. Would probably work much better outside of Rogue.

    My other piece of input would be to play something else besides Rogue if wishing to play Dopple. The Goons faction seems to have the most synergy by hand buffing the Dopple to something that is out of range of AOE, which I definitely see happening in Rogue as the Goons only have two health.

     That is actually a fantastic idea, I did not think about using the hand buffs for Dopple. Going to experiment a little bit with the deckbuilder and see looks good. Any suggestions of what to remove for Cold Blood btw?

     The sets do not rotate when new sets are released. They will rotate around Spring 2017 with the next expansion after MSG. Just look up "Standard Format coming to Hearthstone." On Hearthstone Gamepedia you'll find that it says "The current selection of Standard card sets is updated when the first new expansion each year is released",  simply read it here: http://hearthstone.gamepedia.com/Standard_format#The_Standard_year.

    I'm not the best when it comes to deckbuilding so I wanted to get some help from the friendly users of Hearthpwn. The goal of the deck is do combo Brann Bronzebeard + Shadowcaster + Dopplegangster to fill the board.

     

    I know it probably sucks, which is why I'm asking for feedback :)

    Silverpine Worgen could be buffed a bit, as even 2 3/3s for 5 mana isn't that fantastic. For comparison, Silver Hand Knight is 5 mana also.

    Bilgewater Punisher is better than Undercity Valiant, which is a little weird.

    Things I liked:

    Silvermoon Champion seems like a fair card, and I love the flavour of it.

    Genn Greymane looks pretty powerful, costs 1 mana extra for 5 armour and a good hero power. Also the only class with Armor synergy wouldn't want the new hero power, so I don't think it's too OP.

    Berserker Orc is like a less disgusting Frothing Berserker, which is nice. Could have better base stats though.

    Rampaging Orc is cool, it's like Aberrant Berserker but usually better, and of course it can become a 7/1 super Magma Rager which is nice.

    Steamwheedle Medic looks like a fun card for slower decks.

    I like how there is some mirroring between the Horde and the Alliance cards, like Charming Knight vs Gadgetzan Grenadier for example.

    Amazing work overall! Keep it up!

     Aysa Cloudsinger: Yeah I'm still working on balancing some of the cards. This one definitely needs an adjustment.

    Gilnean Nightstalker: Possibly, I kept the stats low because I wanted it to be vulnerable to AoE effects since it has Stealth, so it couldn't get out of control like Shade of Naxx could. Since it's 3 mana I don't see any harm in making it a 2/3 though, it's still a little bit of a tempo loss so it pays for itself either way. I think that's a good change, I'll work on it.

    Horde Bannerman: Woops it's not supposed to buff itself. Gotta fix that. Thank you for pointing that out. It should read "other Horde minions."

    Darnassian Archer and Shatterspear Hunter: My bad, Shatterspear Hunter was supposed to have a different effect. Gotta fix that. Another oversight on my part.

    Silverpine Worgen: Might make it a 3/4. This one I'm not too sure about yet on how I want to change it but I'll brainstorm some ideas.

    Bilgewater Punisher: Yeah that's true, I'll think of a more unique effect for him.

    and unless I come up with some fresh ideas, that completes the mini-expansion!:)
