GibreelFury posted a message on How Renathal unexpectedly ended up like Baku/Genn.Posted in: General DiscussionNo, I meant that whereas Baku and Genn decklists were kind of forced to become extremely tight (due to the two cards' restrictions), Renathal seemed to be naturally headed for the opposite direction, promoting more variety and new horizons in deckbuilding. Yet it didn't.

PetiteMouche posted a message on So it started...RunestonesPosted in: General DiscussionI could never thank Blizzard enough for what they did.
I always wanted to stop spending money on Hearthstone, but I'm always too addicted to stop, because money is easy to spend.
Runestones though ? I see no value in purchasing them, so I will never do it despite my gambling addiction. No runestone = no packs, no expansion bundle, no skin. Thank you so much Blizzard, in helping me get a better life and bring you down. Because apparently the law can't stop predators like you, but we can.
The thing that drives me up the walls the most is that they said that they wouldn't make prices that can't be fit properly in the available bundle sizes, and yet literally the very first batch of prices they add, they are selling battlegrounds hero skins for 150 runestones, with the lowest bundle size being 500 runestones...
Like literally the very first batch of items, they already apply the predatory pricing that everyone was worried about and that they said they wouldn't do, it's just insane to me...I feel so sorry for anyone foolish enough to believe that crap. When games add layers of virtual currencies between us and the money, it is never ever in the history of mankind a good thing for the players or the game. What drives me crazy is how the law can let that happen, how governments care so little than such blatant and explicit predatory behavior, manipulation, and literal lies can get away and not be punished. How is this even possible.
Thank you so much Blizzard for your immesurable greed that even the despicable likes of me cannot tolerate anymore. I used to feel sorry for the devs that have to work for this company and are not responsible for such decisions, but deep inside, I think they are cowards for not leaving. Find another job, you are part of the problem, working for them is allowing them to pursue their evil intents. But thank you again for allowing it to happen, you may have helped ruin the video game industry, but you also helped me find better meaning in my life.

PetiteMouche posted a message on Elwyn boar BS cardPosted in: Card DiscussionQuote from Andrei2007 >>If you think boar decks are easy to play,l you don't have a good enough understanding of the game. I cannot speak for wild, but in standard, I have been playing almost exclusively boar priest for the past week, and I still find it difficult to play optimally. Almost every game has lines that could have been done better. Pro player Dreivo has hundreds of games on boar priest and still makes mistakes. Just because you see the boar decks beating you it doesn't mean it's a "braindead" deck. Try it yourself and see how many games you insta win.
Boar priest is very easy to play in Wild my dude, and if the op is playing a slow deck, then yeah it's probably instant win for the opponent.
Also the op specifically mentionned wild so I don't know what's your point here.
Now to the op : Wild is rock/paper/scissor in its purest form, if you want to beat boar priest, you'll need to play aggro, or a very specific counter deck if it exists.
So of course it's a big issue for you and people playing aggro will tell you it's a weak ass meme deck, the reality is both of you don't fully understand what rock/paper/scissor mean, it's all about the matchup, you don't suck and you're not a genius, and the opponent isn't always lucky.
Don't ever expect to win against wild combo decks with a midrange or control deck, that's just the hard truth you need to face.

Hey, no worries! Happens to the best of us

Let's say you have 5 minions and your opponent has one. You have 21 health, the opponent has 18. 8 targets total, and yogg casts pyroblasts. There is a 1/8 chance you get hit, a 1/8 chance your opponent gets hit, and a 3/4 chance a minion gets hit. Each time a minion dies, that number shifts accordingly. One gets hit, then you have a 1/7 chance, the opponent has a 1/7 chance, and the remaining 5/7 falls to the minions.
One thing you'll notice is that each hero consistently has the same chance of getting hit as the other hero, regardless of minions. Where the minions are is completely irrelevant; as soon as yogg casts pyroblasts, the only thing that matters is life total (and weird fringe options like ice block).
The chance of the higher health hero dying first is unlikely, but to a completely reasonable degree, and to cite that outcome as suspicious is completely ridiculous.
Edit-to add to that, yogg doesnt just decide if its going to hit an enemy or an ally, then pick a target. It just chooses a target. Doesn't care where that target is.

oh no

Cards that destroy stuff from your deck should not hurt aggro decks. It hurts control because they get closer to fatigue, and it hurts combo because it can destroy their win con, but aggro losing cards just means your other aggressive cards get found earlier. They should never really hit fatigue either way, if the deck is built right

I'd be interested to see your study on points 1 and 2, because all I saw so far from going through responses is that devs have apparently said its true. I wouldn't mind some citations there.
Hard agree on 3 though; anyone who says bgs isnt pay to win is wrong; with heroes mattering as much as they do, having two other options will increase your win rate in the long term.
Points 1 and 2 seem purely speculative to me, so I hope you can provide more information there. Also you unironically said 'mansplained' lol

Silence a friendly minion, draw a card

If i had to guess, they'll come around to your way of thinking soon. If nothing else, pulling this from the juggernaut will likely be way too powerful

If you draw a 'cast when drawn', you will be unable to continue edwin's effect. I ran mankrik in a deck with acrobatics and it works that way with that, so I can't imagine this will be any different.

Well-deserved strutting it would be. i strongly doubt they would make cards mutually exclusive; hearthstone thrives in its simplicity in design (this was their reason for keeping deck slots limited to 9 for so long (which is weird but whatever)), and this is a pretty unintuitive fix. It would definitely be a big step to balancing the archetype, but not the direction they like taking these things
