posted a message on The new progression and reward system initial thoughts

Well I finally hit the " hard grind " wall at level 17 with the exp trickling in slowly, was hoping the wall would have been at level 25 at least halfway on the progression track, but notably when the expansion hits on the 17th there will be a significant boost of exp for playing the expansion's cards, so I guess I will have to wait till then to see progression.

posted a message on The new progression and reward system initial thoughts

Yes it is a wee bit early to give thoughts on it, but it seems fair to all but 1 group of Hearthstone Player type.

If you are F2P and have time, the system is fair (for most part all you have to do is play to unlock stuff)

If you are F2P and don't have time, you might as well find another game to play.

If you are P2P and have time, you get all the shiny toys that F2P wont get for your buck.

If you are P2P and have no time, the game is the same as it was for you before the patch.

what are some of your thoughts on the new system?

posted a message on Final Reveal Stream Will Take Place On Wednesday, November 11th

Kripp maybe boring but he is the most honest and insightful person during reveals and reviews, followed closely by Kibbler. Kripp's views are high because he is honest with his community and Blizzard which earned his trust. I think Blizzard would prefer truthful reactions to their product, than have a bunch of "yes" people smiling and agreeing with everything.

posted a message on What does the rating mean?

I think the " Duels " mode will wind up being the  streamer/whale mode because they will always have a clear advantage over that mode when it is finally released. It may become pointless for the rest of the player base to try to catch up to that knowledge advantage, especially if the structure to play in said mode remains the same.

So the ratings might not be crucial to some.

posted a message on Duplication Protection

Im not complaining about the system, was trying to get a full understanding of how it functions and it works fine. Its actually stricter for epics and legendaries, as you can DE commons and rares and get them back in a fewer packs for obvious reasons.

If I am to critique one thing about it though, is within the 2 weeks full dust refund Blizzard should make it harder for ALL rarities  that you DE to show up, but after the 2 weeks or outside of the 2 weeks, DE to try to get goldens should be easier, if they really only want to protect against dust cheating.

Just my take on it, subjective

With that being said a few lessons have been learnt over last couple of expansions, and a newly informed approach will be taken for future expansions

Well I assumed you had to get  at least 2 copies of each rarity, before you started getting extras

Once you open both copies of all cards of one rarity, you'll start getting random duplicates of that same rarity.

So if im to completely understand this system, if I got all the cards of an expansion and I DE some regular epics (not withstanding nerfed cards) in hopes to try  and unpack golden versions of those said epics, there is a higher probability I might get other epics instead of the ones I DE because the system remembers I owned those cards before?

If so I understand how this system makes its money and thank you for the responses.

Ive DE both Guardian Animals and Secret Passage and already gotten back a copy of both each since after doing so, but have gotten 3rd copies of other epics before getting my 2nd of those 2 cards.

posted a message on Duplication Protection

I've been noticing for quite an extended period that opening card packs since the changes, that the duplication protection works fine for commons and rares, but epics you can get upward of 3 or more of cards like Enchanted Cauldron whilst either missing or having 1 copy of other epics.

Is anyone else having this problem or did I miss an update where Blizzard explained this occurrence?

    posted a message on New Card - [card]Silas Darkmoon[/card]Discuss!

Actually I meant cards like Combustion , Bladestorm , Defile etc. and not just cards that steal from your opponent,  heck Mind Control Tech was HOF for that reason. but cards that make you pay more attention to what, where, when you play it.

This might be received as a joke, but "interactive" cards.

I personally like cards like this where you have to pay attention to board state and minion positioning,

what are your thoughts on having more cards like these per expansion?

Finally a game mode that rewards deck builders, and strategic gameplay decisions(not playing the green card on curve) and curbs net decking to some extent.

posted a message on Evocation & Solarian Prime Nerf!

Do you think it would be better if they just refunded dust for the cards (like HOF), instead of allowing players to D/E the cards for full dust since its Blizzard's responsibility to test and print the cards balanced. This way it won't punish players that badly for crafting epic and legendary cards to play certain deck that nerfed cards from said deck render those crafted cards unplayable.

This method incentivizes two things 1. Blizzard to test and balance cards before release

                                                                     2. Players get to keep the nerfed cards (that may or may not be                                                                                unplayable), whilst getting some dust towards a new deck.

    thoughts?
