I'm recommending it for a friend of mine, I found it SO DAMN FUN, strong and low dust cost.
I hope it gets 80 likes to read the guide, though.

Nella posted a message on [DoD] Highlander Dragon MagePosted in: [DoD] Highlander Dragon MageThanks so much!! I replaced tortollan with evasive feywing, I feel like that card is so great! Got from rank 10 to 5 mainly with this and some face Hunter
PS Luna pocket Galaxy really is great in this deck!! There's a lot of control decks and it helped me win a lot of tricky games

Amalgama posted a message on [DoD] Highlander Dragon MagePosted in: [DoD] Highlander Dragon MageYes, was thinking about it myself (had almost all cards for this deck but haven't Luna's Pocket Galaxy.
You see, rotation is coming. So it's really better to craft Frizz Kindleroost (as I did for Reno mage) because this card will stay with you much longer:).

WillFireblade posted a message on [DoD] Highlander Dragon MagePosted in: [DoD] Highlander Dragon MageI actually agree with you. I dont use krizz or pocket myself they just seem so slow and situational. This deck feels it has enough power to kill anyone as long as it can survive so imo it needs tools to survive.
I use barrier, ooze, spellbender, bone wrath, icebolt and now iam testing cobalt spelkin instead of tortolan will see how it goes. This is a really viable deck in this meta if you exclude the unbeatable aggro hunter. Anyway will see how it goes..

I'm glad you're doing good with this deck, thanks for the feedback dude :)
Deathwing is a good replacement for this list, for other suggestions you can check the section "replacements" in the guide up here.

It's a core card against every slow opponent on its own and it's gamewinning when casted for free and with no tempo loss via tools such as Dragoncaster, Tortollan Pilgrim or Kalecgos. But if you wanna replace it you can try with Frizz Kindleroost, Mountain Giant or Pyroblast to have a similar anti-control tool.

Nice video man, thanks for the credits!
I will post it into the deck description asap :)

Finally came up with what I think is one of the most optimal version for this meta.

Yeah, any card of the "Cards that didn't make the cut" section in the GUIDE up here would be good. Anyway I suggest you 2x Shield of Galakrond and 1x Frothing Berserker.

It's hard to say man. Flark is the most replaceble of these two and you can try subbing it with one among Shu'ma, Sea Giant, Clear the Way or second copy of Animal Companion. About Halazzi I don't think there's a way to replace it without losing a lot of synergy cause, toghether with Swarm of Locusts and SN1P-SN4P, it's one of our core cards... but you can still try replacing it with Hunting Mastiff (to be intended as a mid/late game tool, not as a 2drop for sure) and see if it works for you, although there's a big difference between these cards. Let me know if this will work for you, I hope so.

I don't think a silence fits in this list, cause it's a dead draw when you need a card to pressure or one that spawns minions to complete the quest. If you're facing a lot of taunts deck (like handlock) you should try Veranus instead. Anyway I would recommend to keep Flark in the list or at least to replace him with another threat like Sea Giant if you really don't like the Flark.
The card you could cut to include a Veranus (or Hunter's Mark if you don't have Veranus) should be Bone Wraith or a Knife Juggler imo.

Thanks for the kind words man, I'm glad you're enjoying this deck.
- The warrior m.u. is hard, mostly cause you cannot afford to be greedy on the mulligan otherwise it could go really bad if it's pirate or galakrond tempo. So, unless you are facing 80+% control warriors, you should always mulligan as if it was aggro, then adapting the gameplan if it turns out to be ctrl.
- You want always to complete the quest very soon of course but do not commit into low value plays in order to do that (for example dropping the SN1P on turn 3 when you have other 3 drops cause is not that good, maybe even terrible if you have the coin, cause you can squeeze more value out of it by waiting t5 with coin or t6).
- Your wincondition is the leeroy+unleash+hp combo almost always, but in order to put them into range you have to deliver some damage through minion sticking on the board during the game.
- For the time you completed the quest (let's say turn 7/8) you should be ahead on board (or even at least) since you opponent isn't aggro and you have so many rush minions. So you have initiative to put threats and bait their removals. Do not commit too much into their clears though, there's no need to. You simply have to play individual cards like Flark, Giggling or Swarm + hero power (around turn 8/9). Flark delivers 8 dmg just with bombs but if one of these minions stiks and you can connect face, after hero powering again, you should put them into range. I'm not saying it's easy, but is winnable.
- The final step is to smack them in the face with the combo, so you may need your opponent to overextend (with 5 minions on his board you have full combo) and because almost nobody plays quest hunter they will very likely fall into this trap, hopefully without taunts (but keep checking your burst every turn to never miss lethal, even before setting the combo, just by having double unleash in hand cause it happens a lot, trust me). In order to let your opponent overextend you have to not trade everything of course, so let him deal with the board and hope he value trades to keep his pieces alive.
- Of course you have to draw the leeroy combo to actually try this gameplan, so my advice is to squeeze a lot of card draw out your Cult Master (you have enough time to be greedy in this matchup, so capitalize it).
That's all I can tell about this matchup, I hope it's helpful. Thank you again for the feedback and good luck on ladder :)

I know it wasn't an attack to this deck man, I'm sorry if I seemed angry but I wasn't. I think these shamans are really decreasing people's will to play this game and I don't have the answer to this problem other than waiting for nerfs. My thoughts on the shaman m.u. are all in the guide up here and if they aren't enough I don't know, maybe I'm just lucky, cause I have a 64% wr against them and I'm not even good with mage. It's an hard m.u. for sure, but if they don't draw the nuts on curve you can lock their board by saving you freeze effect for the right spots. In these last 3 days I'm testing also other decks I uploaded on hearthpwn to keep everyone updated on them as well, so I don't know if shamans start running new cards to counter mage, but I doubt it.
OFF TOPIC: Btw of those decks I'm testing these days, the best against shaman is quest hunter. It loses to face hunter unless you draw Zilliax in time and it isn't easy to pilot, but if you have the cards maybe give it a try (it also has a full guide if you are not familiar with the archetype).

I'm not that helpful I know, but I'm trying, let me know if this works out for you.

Maybe there's a reason why shaman needs to be nerfed dude.. I never said this is a natural shaman counter or an EZ win, I just said that this version of reno mage with dragons has more chances against shaman than a more control one. I said that answering to people complaining about this deck being too slow against early aggro decks like pirate warrior (that I never face at rank 2-3 where I'm at). My answer to those people was that against aggro they shold go for some subs to be more consistent in the early game but I also warned them that such a switch would drop dramatically the winrate against shaman cause they don't pressure you in the early game.
Btw if you are looking for a deck with high wr against shaman you should just go on HS Replay and ceck some stats... But if you wanna save some time searching this deck I can already tell you that it doesn't exist :)
