The rank 20 of today is very different from rank 20 of 3-4 years ago. Now you will see a 80% of Tier 1-2 deck on that rank
Therefor rank 20 in Wild can be a way more joyfull place, if you play "for fun". There you will face way more non-meta and even wacky decks. Standard is from rank 20 to 1 boring 99% T1/2 netdecks.
This is becoming more tempting even though I dusted my first rotation sets back in the day. I would need like 100 deck slots though if I had access to all the cards again hahaha
I gave up playing ranked and I am by no means bad at this game. Says it all really and I still "get to" play all the same decks in casual anyway without the stress of grinding for a golden epic or whatever it is people do it for.
I think if you reach a new rank floor you should never be able to go lower than it, I did think that was what the updated system was not too long back but that is not how it works as I found out when I got to rank 15 that first month and still dropped down at the start of the next month.
I don't want to play people who belong in rank 10 or above like ever, even less so in ranked where it is obvious they will just stomp anyone from rank 20-10.
I got The Darkness from rafaam and think, well yea this might actually work.
Opponent proceeds to draw all 6 non candles and win the game, un-fucking believable, how with 6 cards left can it still be impossible to trigger. Fuck you and your god luck Healadin you must have sucked RnGesus off last night to be able to do that. Fuck you, Fuck you, Fuck you.
Edit: Didn't even finish writing this before my mech hunter opponent had won the game based on godly draws again, over by turn 7.
I don't subscribe to the "rigged matchmaking" theory but sometimes it really does feel like. I need warlock wins so I play slow control anti bomb warlock and in 6 games I was dead by turn 5/6 every single time.
Just pulled The Boom Reaver from one of my quest packs. Considering my last pack of my big opening had a legendary in it I was not expecting any from the free quest packs so even though it's not a good legendary it's stil good. am thinking at this point I might as well just craft the rest of the set lol
It's great! No neutralstone, no turn 6 "fuck you, here's 4 wolves from 1 card", no "turn 10 summon a 6 Doomguards," no "totally safe at 30 health and oh wait, Cloning Gallery for 100 damage."
I'm enjoying the flux of a fresh meta and trying new things.
If kaladin is happy, we are all truly fucked now.
I'm with Kaladan, had so much fun the last few days
Elemental shaman is not just still viable, it's better than ever. Can win on turn 5 if you get high roll opening hand but also has the power to sustain a late game challenge and win in a control match up.
How does it fare vs bomb control warrior / do you possibly have a decklist? Each expansion I try to revive Elemental shaman :p.
I did face a few warriors but actually high rolled my hand those games so they died before I found out if they were bombs or not. Will be continuing to try it out and the deck list is here

All of those neutral minions are very good in mage decks as minions go and they have all mana cost ranges. Survivablity and heals and stalls are diminished for pretty much all classes so it's not just a mage issue and as others have mentioned, Mage isn't a heal class so it doesn't fit for mage to be a burst combo god and a defensive/stall/heal forever class at the same time

Lots of room to experiment now, new op cards coming to the fore and fringe decks enjoying their time in the sun.
Enjoy it whilst it lasts lol.

I think that is enough hearthstone for me today

Wow nice necro. Unfortunately this did not lead to anything awesome, however my cards are much better now a year odd on from this thread.
I do still love this idea or my own custom expansion but no where near ready for that yet
