posted a message on I can't wrap my head around the new cards

As far as should you preorder and only playing an hour per week, it’s up to you and your mileage may vary. I was on the fence about preordering and then preordered as soon as I saw Activate the Obelisk. I’m crafting that in gold.

Ok, everyone is talking about running shitty cards to support it and that’s just not the case. This goes in a taunt/rez priest. Run all the board clears, Holy Nova is great in this deck. Taunt cards that you can give reborn with Psychopomp and Embalming Ritual. Try to keep the minions to a minimum because you will finish with Catrina Muerte, Mass Resurrection and Zerek’s Cloning Gallery. Resurrect taunt cards like Witchwood Grizzly, Rotten Applebaum and Zilliax. Play a few healing spells and you will complete the quest without even having to use your hero power. Afterwards, buff any minions you can get to stick and outvalue your opponent. Priest is about dragging the game out until you outvalue opponents. It’s not about tempo or board position because priest just clears the board when their opponent gets a good board position or makes a big tempo play.

You can spend 16 Mana on 8 Heropowers over 8 turns while actually doing a thing that's extremely negative for yourself. I'll be so happy if a priest actually does this against me. And gratefully bash their face in while they completely throw away the game.

Or you can spend 6 mana on Zilliax and Embalming Ritual and restore 12 health. Add in a 0 cost Regenerate and the quest is complete for less than half of what you proposed. 15 health across minions and hero in a class that is focused on healing and reborn mechanics is going to be much easier than everyone thinks.

Only if sb did 12 damage before.

So the best counter to this strategy is to not do damage to priest?

This isn’t just for zoo, this is great in resurrect/taunt priest. The quest should be similar to Lucentbark which means that hero power, spells and creatures with healing battlecries, deathrattles and lifesteal will count. This makes control cards like Neferset Ritualist and Khartut Defender much better. Imagine how strong a Convincing Infiltrator will be if it can heal 3 and gain +3/+3 off hero power. Not to mention it will be nice to see Prophet Velen in a deck that is not a mindblast OTK.

I was unsure about this expansion, but since priest is my favorite class, I’m all in now. This is the easiest quest to complete and the best reward.

posted a message on Lich King or Ragnaros?? Who is Dr. 8

Lich king is a strong card and is a kill now threat. On the other hand, I’ve probably won a golden character portrait’s worth of matches with Rag delivering 8 to the face the turn he was played.

It was strong, it was automatically included, it wasn’t completely busted for years. When warrior got patches and other pirate support it was the archetype that broke the card. Warriors initial identity was the weapon class, a 3/2 for 2 isn’t ridiculous when that is the focus of the class. When it shifted to warrior is aggro pirates now, that cornerstone weapon from weapon warrior became too damn strong. It’s not nostalgia, it’s objectively looking at how the game has evolved. I’ve been playing since launch though, so I recall when chillwind yeti was a great card and naxx introduced deathrattles and people said they weren’t as good as battlecries because they can be silenced, and everyone is running ironbeak owl. However they were still playable because of one certain card...

"Automatically included" in every archetype meaning that Fiery War Axe is completely busted and is only limited by how good the rest of the Warrior cards are. Even Power Word: Shield, generally agreed to be one of the most powerful cards in Priest and is the only 1 mana cycle, didn't even have that honor.

We must have different definitions of busted. FWA could be played around and until pirate warrior, it was fine. Hell, back then, Gorehowl was also auto included, because that’s what warrior did was weapons. Busted cards are pre-nerf cavern creeper where you could get a free 5/5 on turn 3, well before anyone could cast a bigger minion. Pre-call to arms where you could cheat out 3 2 cost minions for 4 mana was quite busted. A rallying blade for one mana less and no battlecry or death rattle is hardly game breaking until an archetype abuses it.

It's great!  No neutralstone, no turn 6 "fuck you, here's 4 wolves from 1 card", no "turn 10 summon a 6 Doomguards," no "totally safe at 30 health and oh wait, Cloning Gallery for 100 damage."

I'm enjoying the flux of a fresh meta and trying new things.

If kaladin is happy, we are all truly fucked now.

I'm with Kaladan, had so much fun the last few days

I agree too, I’m loving the new cards printed and the end of genn/baku is welcome. It’s almost like we got 3 expansions because boomsday and rastakhan were both in the shadow of genn/baku.

My point is that if you have ever lurked the salt thread, you know and love kaladin as being the human with the highest sodium imbalance on the planet. If he is pleased, the magnetic poles have reversed, up is down, right is wrong and there is no saving us. Liquidate everything you have, invest in medicine, booze and guns because the end is nigh.

I agree that Bomb Warrior is strong, but frankly, I don't mind it too much, because for me Warrior has never been a cancer class and I like it.

As of Burgle Rogue, I know it's not a meme deck anymore, but if you ask me it's far from being the best deck in the meta. At least when I play it, I always get the worst possible luck with Espionage. Really.

Clearly you don’t remember pirate warrior at whispers of the old gods or patron warrior. Both of those decks were so bad that classic cards had to be nerfed into completely unplayable. FWA wasn’t a ridiculous card until pirate warrior, which had the exact same 3 cards played for the first 3 turns, if you played those cards, you win. There was no counter. Patron warrior was an Otk at possibly the soonest we have ever seen one, it was great to see an opponent drop a 3 cost minion with charge and 12+ attack. Every class has had a “cancer” deck. It just means that they are the strongest class in the meta. If you don’t like bomb warrior, make a counter deck, blizz gave you the tools to counter it. Although, warrior is a bit one sided with removal and aoe, which in a control heavy meta really favors them. It would have been nice to see priest, mage and shaman get some new aoe and removal since they lost the best ones in the game.

posted a message on New Priest Spell - Mass Resurrection

This fine, too much is rotating out for otk to be viable. To make resurrection priest powerful, priest needs at least one more resurrection spell, since Eternal Servitude and twilight’s call are rotating and Shadow Visions can’t make extra copies of this. Priest also needs a good reliable board clear and a solid taunt death rattle like Obsidian Statue to replace what they are losing to rotation.  Finally, priest also doesn’t have a way to cheat out big minions since Shadow Essence is rotating. I don’t think this card and resurrection priest will be too strong in standard with the cards we have seen. If priest can get the other pieces needed, this spell combined with the totems and bwom will make for an ugly taunt and fatigue deck. Resurrection priest, gallery priest and big priest are dead in standard though, and they need too many specific cards to bring them back.

posted a message on Is Shudderwock or Hagatha worth it?

I use both cards in different home brew decks that are just ok. Hagatha complements an elemental overload deck well with sapphire spell stone and snow fury giants. Shudderwock goes in a battlecry elemental deck focusing on face damage and acts as a 10-15 damage finisher. Both are... ok, not great, but that is shaman right now.

posted a message on Is It Really "The Genn AND Baku Problem"?

Genn and Baku aren’t the problem, it’s the power level of the even and odd cards in the deck. Blizz needs to remove all cards with either an even or odd cost and the game will be balanced.
