This guy must be trolling right? No strategy in control mirrors? In any case the original assertion that you are forced to play control these days is absolutely not true. Only about a third of my ladder matchups are control decks. I'll admit that there's a lot more control than some past metas, but it still doesn't dominate the meta.

batterystaple posted a message on Nerfing Decks and Dust Refund PolicyPosted in: General DiscussionYou're crafting cards, not decks. So if a card is only good in one particular deck, you're taking a risk in crafting it. It's one of the things to consider when deciding what to craft.
I view my card collection as resources that I can build decks from, not as a group of fixed decks. If you only play a small set of netdecks, then I guess you don't consider individual cards to be worth having. I can't imagine the game staying fun though if you play the same decks for weeks on end.
Would a refund for decks even be feasible? For cards it's very clear which cards are eligible for a refund: those cards that were changed. But let's say Bloodreaver Gul'dan gets nerfed, what should be refunded then? Void Lord? Lackey? Skull? Every single demon and card that interacts with demons? It's not a clear decision and whatever other cards Blizzard would pick would lead to a lot of drama.
From a discussion point of view, if you want to discuss refunds, it would be better to just stick to the arguments concerning refunds in your post. Trying to defend the Naga Giant decks will trigger people into responding to that defense, which distracts from the original discussion topic.

quartermonk posted a message on The 8 cards announced to be changed or looked at for not being fun and my take on themPosted in: Card DiscussionCall to Arms should be 5 mana. Spiteful Summoner needs to cost 2 mana more for it's current effect. Possessed lacky being 6 mana slows it down considerably. Crystal Core just needs obliterated from the game. It is more oppressive to entire archetypes than any other deck in the standard atm. I like guldan but would rather see a change to skull. How about at the beginning of your turn, if there are no demons in your hand, destroy this weapon.

Dude... Those cards are busted. They're auto-includes in every Warlock/Paladin deck from control to aggro! -

Dragon warrior always was kinda fun to play - I'm glad to see it making a comeback.

People who can't understand why this is good never played around with Kel'Thuzad. This costs 2 mana, he cost 8. Insane board dominance potential for 2 mana, absolutely insane.

Think about how a hunter plays traditionally, they spam the board...this will serve as the one thing hunter lacks, card draw. Out of fear you will have to clear a hunters board, big taunts are no longer good enough, matching them with minions or any sort does not work. The second you leave a hunter in a vaguely equal position on the board this comes down for 2 mana and its over, you are miles behind. It's one of the most insane win more cards we've ever seen, and you don't even really need to be 'winning' to take advantage, just some board presence of any sort will be enough. Hunters may well go all in on beasts because of this card, and it'll be back to mid-range, hybrid beast hunter domination.

People are crazy (or just jealous) - he's the top arena player in world. Top arena play requires concrete understanding of all game mechanics and all cards, just not specific deck archetypes. Remember there was that sealed-style tournament a while back? He made most of the 'pros' he up against look like amateurs as the game wasn't just about memorising your opponents deck so you could plan 5 turns in advance, with cards they were used to playing with/facing all the time.

Would this card be fun to play when messing around even? No, it's crappy, boring design. Filler legendary.

It's a fucking card game. If I want to take a break from playing Red Dead or whatever chilling on hearthstone is always a nice option. Also, it's sounds like you were worn down by constructed, but arena has consistantly been by far the best play mode in hearthstone since ...well, launch.
'Quitting' games is a ridiculous concept in itself, either play or not, do what you want, you don't need to draw imaginary red lines all over the place.

Mechanically super boring so far. I liked the new paladin legendary to convert health to armor. Mostly seems to be just big beasts and lot of rush....dull. Power level wise, it's typical of 3rd expansion in cycle, so quite high, but cares about that if we don't get new gameplay?

Not that I really feel kingsbane should be nerfed, but I get soo tried of people throwing win percentage statistics around like gospel, as if win% means very much when it comes to this game and whether its fun to play or not. Please.

Seems pretty good, but it's easy to overhype 8 mana+ cards. Depending on the the meta, a do nothing 8 mana card can be unplayable.

Rank 20 - 15 wild is considerably more fun than either mode in casual. Once you starrt climbing ranks though you quickly start running into orgues and big preists...so don't. Meme it up in the basement, its a lot of fun.
