Blizzard doesn't give a shit about balance anyways. They only nerf cards when they are so op that they actively destroy the entire game, not just a Mana slot.

Tahladnas posted a message on Is Power Creep Getting Out of Hand?Posted in: General DiscussionQuoting Ben Brode Himself: "if we make a better undertaker, that’s power creep. Making a better version of a card that nobody plays is not."
So no, it is not power creep. They just do not want to "buff" older cards. They would rather make new ones.
Tell that to an Arena player when he is facing a choice of Booty Bay Bodyguard vs Evil Hecker. This goes to show how stupid Blizzard is. They are making cards obsolete, which is not healthy for the game. And for a game developer to admit that there are cards that nobody plays is stupid. Plenty of new players use Booty Bay Bodyguard in their decks, for him to treat a card differently just because it is currently not a meta staple shows how narrow-minded the game developers are.
There you have it folks, a game developer telling you that Booty Bay Bodyguard will never be viable in any current or future HS meta. Way to kill off a card Ben, how about you do that to Chillwind Yeti and Senjin Shielmasta next? Idiot.
Oh Booty Bay Bodyguard is not seeing play, let's creep it with Evil Hecker. Hmmm nobody is playing Evil Hecker either, i guess no harm in creeping it too in this new expansion. Hmm, why suddenly everyone is complaining about this 3 mana 5/4 taunt minion? Ah shit, we can't release this 3 mana 3/3 legendary, it can't even compete with that common 3 mana 5/4 taunt! Make it a 3 mana 5/6 legendary, that should fix it.
News flash Blizzard, power creeping cards that are not seeing play is exactly how stats inflation happens. Nobody is stupid enough to creep Sylvannas. But i guess Blizzard is dumb enough to think that power creeping Booty Bay Bodyguard will have no consequences.

DragonConsort posted a message on Is Power Creep Getting Out of Hand?Posted in: General DiscussionI hope kripparian, trump other popular streamers blast blizzard for these cards. If enough people voice dissatisfaction, they will be hesitant to power creep again...maybe even change magma and BBB so they aren't strictly worse.
Appeal to tradition, that's exactly what it is. Seems Jaina polymorphed a bunch of people, cause I am hearing many sheep.

DragonConsort posted a message on Is Power Creep Getting Out of Hand?Posted in: General DiscussionStuff like that is supposed to happen. Just accept it.
That's why people accept dumb things like intentionally bad cards and power creep. Is stupid as hell, I don't care about tradition or what magic does. It is retarded, everyone objectively knows that as much. The only defense is it is a part of card games, or magic does it all time. Or it isn't a big deal. No it is definitely a bad thing for the game, but seems people will put up with dog crap, blizzard must be happy.

DarkTycon posted a message on Is Power Creep Getting Out of Hand?Posted in: General DiscussionQuote from Chaqazarad jumpare you kidding whats with all of the QQ about power creep. Compared to GVG there is far less power creep and far more INNOVATION... so no not out of hand also ben brode stated that they feel like improving cards no one plays is not power creep
Can you really blame people for being vocal about wasting new card slots on what could have been a buff in a patch, especially for free cards that would have no dust or crafting problems. GvG Power creep was never direct power creep, it was power creep in the way of more beneficially allocated stats and abilities, however none were direct upgrades in all facets or comparisons. Piloted Shredder is stickier and on average gets more value than a yeti, but it still dies to a lightning bolt or axe and thus while consistently better for a removal or trading meta game, the yeti is still more survivable, if enough bad 2 drops came out and control decks were the meta the yeti might even trump the shredder.
What design improvement though, you took a card that exists and cloned it but made it simply better without any situation comparison. While many of the cards released were cool in concept, many were disappointing or seamed like the balance department were really trying odd ideas this expansion. However direct upgrades really question the future cards. If this is the future of card buffing I wonder why they bother to even keep the old cards in the game, or at the least buff the old cards in addition and make them swappable cards for flavor but function the same, just as you do with your hero jaina and mediev.
No personal grievances or offence to you sir/maam but I can't help but disagree with you. Some of the innovations this set were pretty big but many improvements such as deathrattle improvements and random produced cards from GvG were improvements at the time too. I really hope blizzard doesn't take this as a norm though, it not only hurts constructed though random card generation effects and arena through a watered down card pool but it devalues the current cards available to players. And yes while buffing cards that are weak are a good idea, flat out reprinting them as new cards while good in intention is still power creep, they are still potentially playable and unique cards even if weak. In older physical card games, you couldn't edit the cards you already printed so it made sense reprinting them, however the advantage of the digital medium these cards take advantage of would make it very easy to simple edit older cards. No point in worrying about reactions or meta shifting on editing old cards, changing them is effectively the same on the meta game as releasing the new improved versions with the exception of not needing to obtain the new cards.
The lesson based argument doesn't really hold up either, there's no experience required or real discussion or comparison, a 5/2 > a 5/1 in almost any scenario period. We don't have to rage at blizzard but telling them this type of ordeal is not OK would help in the future to make them think twice about strait up power creep.
Yes the power creep is real but it's not game crippling yet, let's hope Blizzard learns from the back lash and decides to design mostly newer card stat lines and themes and perhaps for once ever, buff a bad card. Thematically I love magma rager and booty bay and the new cards wouldn't feel the same from a subjective point of view either.

PinkGhost181 posted a message on Is Power Creep Getting Out of Hand?Posted in: General DiscussionSince I started playing Hearthstone more than a year ago, I have had great faith in Blizzard's ability to release new cards that remain balanced compared to cards that already exist. It is quite obvious though after the release of Ice Rager that this is no longer the case. While some people might consider Magma Rager to be one of the worst cards in the game, it still had it's fun moments where you might pull out a win. With the release of this card whose purpose is specifically to be a better Magma Rager I can't help but feel like blizzard is trying to encourage me to not play magma rager.
Thoughts?

Well unless you're a "professíonal" at the game, the standards set are different for you, so of course you can have a go at them!
You don't see fans in any other sports holding their opinions back just because they don't play in a big stadium and make several millions a year, so why should you? Most sports journalists never played their respective game professionally, but they still bring their opinions of players to the table, same goes for art critics.
Just because you aren't good at something, doesn't mean you necessarily can't recognize the capabilities of others within that field.

They aggro better than hunters too.

So your problem with arena is that the RNG in the draft is no longer compensating so heavily for shitty play? Cry me river.

These are bots, they are being used to grind out a few cards/gold, then the account is sold. Because the world can afford to waste energy/resources like this right? Worse than crypto, it's enough to make you cry into your cornflakes.

Younglings don't remember the previous two Mega-hunter metas.
- Undertaker Hunter, tier S deck.
- Face Hunter, top of tier 1 deck.
Also there have been multiple metas where hybrid hunter and mid-range hunter have fluctuated from tier 1 to tier 2.
Personally I like deathrattle hunter...its the slowest successful hunter deck we've seen, it has some really cool combos and it's full of flavour.
Emerald spellstone though, that card is just poorly designed, the pay off too high and too early at turn 5 if you mulligan with luck. High roll cards that come into play too early suck for everyone, and reduce the skill in the game.
Aggro hunter is always bad for the game, but sadly its consistantly been hte deck blizzard seems to want new players to use, as its so cheap. Either that or some kind of aggro paladin. Pay-to-have-fun sucks.

Build something yourself...sub rank 10 almost anything I throw together works in wild - Mechwarrior with all the GvG card +boom was a laugh. Shaman with every good overload card + sepllstone and the overload unlockers. Beast druid with menagerie wardens for copying. Reno legendary warrior with 20/30 cards legendaries....the possibilities are endless.
The cool thing about wild is when a new exapansion comes out, you can take the bad cards from it that are waiting for stanard synergy and get it immediately with old cards to create some fun thats powerful enough to win plenty of games. Never dust anything and treat wild as the true casual/meme mode in the game. Don't worry about climbing too high, once you starting hitting all the try hard big priests and mill rogues it's time to go back to arena.

I don't really watch streamers though, I just play because I enjoy it. I don't really care about the pro scene either.
