Because it is a proven money maker, King printed money making a fake game designed to stimulate spending. Activision acquired king so they could implement their expertise. If the piss poor money sink Mercenaries couldn't convince you, the predatory monetization of diablo immortal, the absolute hellhole of a workplace filled with hypocritical harrassers....the fact that Blizzard has positions on their staff of Community Manager who's actual job it is to defend their reputation from the truth coming out.....Anyone who still believes that Blizzard is a legit company who would never manipulate hearthstone outcomes in search of profit is either a shill or clueless.
But mercenaries is predatory. You need to level up your stuff, and leveling up takes either an insane amount of time or money.
Reward systems vs new content dropout, cosmetics, and other stuff are all pointed at making profit, there's no doubt in that, and mercenaries is a clear attempt at making a big big profit. Diablo Immortal? You can read the scam there, it's a classic gacha with classic gacha dynamics.
But ranked mode? How would that even work? Rigged matchups and draws to improve your results when you spend? Would that even work if you don't realise it?
Think about this. I don't believe the game is rigged because there are no clear signs, so I won't spend money to improve my odds because I see no return of investment in it. You believe the game is rigged and that if you spend money you'll get a better outcome, now you may be pushed to spend some money to increase your rank, but this is based on your belief, not upon the fact that the game is or is not rigged. So literally rigging the game or not doesn't change how likely you are or I am [EDIT: to spend money] in this scenario, because we don't know what's happening. When you spend money on mercenaries you get coins, coins upgrade the mercs, when you spend money on Diablo you get gems that make your character stronger. When you spend money on HS you get cards, which let you build more decks (this is the real incentive) and a slightly better chance of drawing bloodlust on curve I guess? Even if it were true, it's not written anywhere, so how are we supposed to know and get convinced to spend?

Want to cross the line? Ignore the line. Seriously, don't even check your rating... your rank progress, just play.
Learnt this from playing Fifa competitively online years ago- it was fucking amazing how many late goals I'd concede if I was 1 - 0 or 2 - 1 ...I'd check the clock ...5 minutes to go...and bam...panic, nerves, tilt..call it what you like.
Human psychology when it sees the finish line is weird, and you won't be aware of your drop in performance because your focus was wandering. You won't acknowledge the choke - you are more likely to blame bad luck or the game being 'fixed' as you imply here. It's not, it's all you. Don't think about the finish line.

Didn't this effect come bundled with a minion on a paladin class card like 5 years ago? I mean, yeah maybe ithis is a 'good' card... but it's pretty hard to care about recycled, boring shit.

No. Controversial opinion, which is often where either the truth is found, or the obvious lie that needs to be addressed, gets downvoted to oblivion. Back-slapping, circlejerking, even virtue signalling, call it what you want, but that is the result of system with downvotes.
Message boards and other txt based media aren't youtube - youtube really really needed a downvote button, to combat algorythmic BS, adverstising, sell-outs, etc and so it was removed as Google make more money that way.

Just hook it to my veins!

I mean, the pre-release stuff on Diablo 4 looks promising as hell, like Blizzard finally got the message on D3 (that being that Path of Exile was the real D3, not Blizzard's cartoon monstrosity with an auction house slapped on top).
You've gotta hope that Diablo Immortal fails, just to discourage Acti/Bliz from pulling all sorts of pay2win shit with D4. Seriously, the aesthetics, style and physics look amazing. Hopefully they don't fuck it up through greed.

It's crap. Like nearly all mobile games it's crap becasue it controls likes ass - The game essentially plays itself, the character auto-moves, it's a half-idle game. Complete waste of time, and doesn't derserve to be a 'Diablo' game.

But I win with Rivendare builds regularly. That woiuld be impossible if he was snped first 76% of the time. Beasts and Mechs rely on him heavily..

The lesson to Blizzard here is, don't push your new content so hard that people are sick of it before you've given yourself a chance to tune it. I'm betting without this card that naga's are essentially crippled. And frankly at this point I don't care, along with damn near everyone else who play lots of BGs because we're sick of lobbies where 6 of 8 players are trying Nagas. With so many players chasing the same cards it becomes a straight RNG clownfiesta, and there is always one who highrolls based on pure luck. Not a fun time.
Maybe adress what Leeroy has done to mechs? Why did they nerf murlocs and quillboar with the last patch? ...where did the data to justify that come from when no one was playing anything but nagas?

Modern hearthsone is all about huge power spikes and outright win conditions...shit loads of them. They are nearly all busted and uncounterable. Quest hunter allows hunter to keep up in the traditional hunter way, with lots of face and chip damage. It feels super unfair because it is, but it's designed to counter balance a lot of other super unfair shit.
