grim patron cancer? hardly... its obvious by turn 4 that its a gp deck so just keep a small board and save your clears. Once you clear both waves its gg

Part of the problem people have with Patron Warrior is that, if given no resistance whatsoever, it can set up a 30+ damage combo to kill you in one turn.  I find fun in the puzzle of winning without playing low-attack minions, but it seems some people aren't able to adapt their playstyle for the matchup.

I find it strange that people judge this card badly and then act smug about voting for the other option.  You didn't know what either card did, and the blood elf could have been even worse.  This was just luck, something you shouldn't take a personal pride in.

I have a little hope for this card.  It would be nice when used with Feign Death to give you some damage splash on your opponent.  Other than that, the boom bot deathrattles don't really seem significant enough to warrant playing the card.

Until we get better 7-drops, though, we won't have much of a choice.  Maybe there will be better legendaries for that slot revealed later on.  Time will tell.

I think that Blizzard decided to be careful with a mana cost of this thing. In card games synergy factors so much in, especially now that we have way more cards than back in the beta days.

But that just cant lead to every card beeing overpriced! And There must be at least some beta testing goig on before release, so i say this is just lazy gamedesign.

Just by manacost, this card cant realy have that much synergies, 6 Mana is a lot and there is sylvanas, highmane, thaurissan, so this will never see play.

This should be costed araund 4-5 Mana as a playable card. Just the same bulshit they made with poisoned blade which is around 3 mana overpriced, like most of the set so far is.

Ofcause there should be weak cards and im fine with that but there is just a limit of how bad cards should be. Espacially if they want to push hunter out of face decks, those cards are crucial. And so far the released hunter cards are terrible as is most of the set.

Furthermore i realy hate the argument "but there maybe combos yadayada". Just because rouge has prep doesnt mean all the spells should be costed more. Its like saying all druid minions should cost 2 more because they have inervate.

And there are already 30+ otk combos in this game, so how worse can it realy get?! Especially when the card is completely random like this, how can there be a reliable combo with this piece of filth?

    Terrible gamedesign from blizz.

Ball of Spiders is one part of a 2-card draw engine that fills your hand.  It doesn't compete with Savannah Highmane, Sylvanas, or Thaurissan because you don't drop it on turn 6.  You drop it on turn 8 with Feign Death to fill the hand that you've come close to emptying.  It's good that Hunter finally has something to fill that 8-mana slot with.

This card isn't as abysmally bad as you seem to think.  As the card pool grows, it becomes increasingly difficult to fit everything you want into a deck.  Ball of Spiders solves this problem by being three cards in one, allowing you to cheat the system and fit more cards into your deck than you normally could.  The Webspinners provide you with beasts, allowing you to fill the rest of your deck with fewer minions and more spells.  This in turn increases the effectiveness of Lock and Load, which gives you all sorts of Hunter cards and increases the size of your deck even more.  You don't need to draw out everything in your "real" deck as quickly as a Rogue or Warlock would, but you can still sift through it with Tracking, and stall to draw more cards while your opponent deals with the stampede of beasts you've just dropped down.

I'd say forcing the game to slow down by having players take multiple turns to finish combos and get value is great gamedesign from blizz.

posted a message on New Card - Ball of Spiders [Hunter]

Allow me to analyze the value of this card in context of slower Hunter decks, of which I have played quite a lot.

Ball of Spiders is not meant to be played on turn 6, it is meant to be played in a Deathrattle Hunter with Feign Death.  Doing so spends 8 mana and puts 3 minions into your hand this turn, as well as giving you 3 1/1s that put 3 more minions into your hand next turn.  If we compare that to the value you get from Neptulon, that's not a bad deal.

In fact, this shows an interesting trend in the future of Hunter.  It seems that the ridiculous card draw engines we once had are no more, and they will never come back because of how there is no setting between "off" and "high" on the power scale.  Instead, we get ways to fill our hand without thinning our deck.  Ball of Spiders/Feign Death combo provides us with the minion half of our card draw needs, whereas Lock and Load holds off the spell front.  All in all, I'd say it's a healthy addition to an unexplored archetype.

Why is the hero power OP? Warlock has more class specific cards that discard than any other as a balance.

I think the idea a lot of people have is that even if their class cards come with drawbacks, they can make more or better use of the available neutral options. The new Malygos Warlock is a good example. Near the release of BRM many speculated that Shaman MIGHT make a big comeback with Malygos, even Freeze Mages tried him instead of Antonidas. Yet who made the most out of the new toy called Thaurissan? Warlocks. Not only did it enhance one of their strongest decks, it added another  to the mix.

Anyway, I also think that the class will remain among the top unless something terrible happens to hero ability. But hey who knows, maybe the possible burst damage will increase over the next few expansions, or more classes will gain some burst to begin with. There is a reason why Warlocks of all kinds have issues with Hunters after all - tapping for 2 health matters a lot more against them.

Actually, I'd say that Druids make the most use of Thaurissan.  He enables much stronger Force of Nature combos, which in turn punish Warlock for every single life tap.  I'd say that Thaurissan, because he encourages burst combos, actually weakened Warlock.

IMHO: All these whiners who hate farmers like me are young ones with lot time and cash from their parents. :) Have fun but don't say me how i should play this game.

I'm actually a college student who hasn't spent a dime on Hearthstone.  I won't tell you how you should play this game, but I will tell you how you shouldn't play it.  Play the game however you want, so long as you're not preying upon newer players for your own juvenile satisfaction.

I cannot understand the hate in this Thread. While people may have different opinions on farming 20s for golden portraits and I can understand people calling people who like that boring or toxic or whatever kind of players I do not support the hate towards OP for his profession at all. First of all it is very disrespectful to judge somebodies work just by their  satisfaction they find in hobbies. Some people enjoy hunting, so they must be violent, bloodthirsty people in real life?

Just because he likes his Hobby to be more "boring" does not mean that his work is boring as well. I do not know why the open insults in this thread are tolerated by moderators since I can not see any relevance for this thread except being disrespectful towards the OP, because one might not agree with his playstyle?

This thread is a great example on what is wrong with the internet.

The level of hate in this thread stems from the fact that farming wins against new players is a way to leech off of the community for a shortcut to what would normally be an inevitable milestone.  When new players try their hand at the ladder and get stomped by perfect pro decks, it discourages them from continuing with the game.  Farming at rank 20 stifles the growth of the entire game so that someone can get a little closer to an inconsequential element of the game that they would get anyway.  You have to admit that's pretty selfish.

I am really waiting for the nerf... :'(

Druid doesn't need ANY nerfs, it needs a boost! You just messed up, you should know better Vs a Druid. Always a threat of the combo, and even double roars. You allowed him the time to put it together.

You are talking out off your ass. I cleared his fking board and was above 20 hp. WHAT FKING ELSE SHOULD I HAVE FKING DONE? CTRL Warrior is not good on the aggro front, you know.

Haha you had shieldmaiden , pure misplay.

Needed mana to clear all minions with grommash.... dont be like that guy.

Well, let's see.  You played Grommash and he somehow took 2 damage.  That means one of two things.  Either you damaged him and he took out something with all 10 attack, but I can't imagine why a Druid would have a 1-attack minion with 5 or more health.  Otherwise, you must have played him bare and attacked a minion to kill it with his Charge.  There couldn't have been more than one minion, because Grommash can only attack one minion and the Druid's board was empty at the start of his turn.

Either way, it would have been better to play Shieldmaiden and then Death's Bite to kill that one remaining minion.

I killed a Keeper of the Grove and another minion with my remaining weapon. If I had not killed the keeper of the grove that Keeper would have dealt 6 additional damage to my face.

    SO FUCK YOU!

You didn't think to Brawl to kill one of the minions, finish the other off with your weapon, and then play Shieldmaiden to take back the board and swing out of combo range?
