EU, currently rank 3 and very happy if someone adds to do same friendly games, try decks and theory craft together. I am getting bored on the ladder, I enjoy playing with friends in a relaxed atmosphere much more.

    See ya!

You are still in the learning curve, give it more time. I started playing Shaman around your ranks last season too, and had mixed feelings about it. After testing and learning for two weeks, i finally start got into the class, I tuned my own version of it and i got to rank 3. Patience, work hard and you will obtain results.

I think one of my main issues is turn 2. I rarely seem to have 2 drops outside of Flametongues which while good, I feel like they're just bad to get in your opening hand imo. :S It feels like the early game is control and late game is burst, which feels very awkward.

At which rank are you playing? Turn 2 is high valued at low ranks, but people prefer to turn 2 hero power most of the times at higher ranks, only exception is warlock aggro. And your turn 2 as a shaman is pretty simple: totemic call or clear if there is a threat. If you have an overload in hand, coin Unbound Elemental is an option. The problems start in the following turns, where you will need to start to do mana-management and fight hard to get board control. Once you have board control, Shaman is tremendously strong. The advantage will just grow every turn until you have lethal.

Thanks guys ! and may I ask why leeroy?

I would play a Doomhammer or a second Defender of Argus if you want to play very solidly, but since you said you have Leeroy Jenkins you can rum him. He is just an amazing card and with all this aggro decks you need some reach to be able to kill them before they top deck lethal on you.

Play double Defias Ringleader and play very very very aggressively. Spam all your minions and go to the face. Put as much pressure as you can and they will have problems clearing everything you throw at them. Use Leeroy Jenkins and Eviscerate to finish him. No fear no mercy whatsoever.

Also don't trade with your minions but use your weapons, he will like it at the beginning but when your minions will start attacking his face multiple times he will start sweating.

Play double one of the worst cards out there and watch them UTH kill you on turn 5 from full health. That is a fantastic stratagy.

I already lost as hunter a couple of times against an early Defias Ringleader that went out of control. Is not like you are gonna win the game magically if you don't play minions against hunters. You need to pressure him and force a respond. Get his life total low enough that he will spent Kill Command on a minion for example. If you play too passively keeping everything in your hand you are gonna have a very hard time. Especially with rogue which doesn't run beefy minions so you don't have the resources to damage him enough.

And maybe you can argument your posts instead of being sarcastic. I at least brought an example from my experience, didn't spoke from theoretical points of view (he has the perfect combo, the card is bad). What are you saying? Cards are bad or good depend on situations, Defias Ringleader is a boss in this aggro meta. Backstab into Coin Defias Ringleader welcome to the tempo game.

Far from being that simple. They will more then likely let you keep them there to get a ton of cards with buzzard/uth,  or just get a super value explosive trap. Dealing with hunter decks reminds me a bit of the good ol' flamstrike argument where your damned if you do, and damned if you don't. One of the biggest things to think about is if you do make a deck to do well against hunters specifically, it more then likely will be below average against other decks. UTH is a little bit cheap for 2 mana atm, and I think we will see it brought to 3 mana in near future. However, ooze could be a very strong card overall in the match up, as well againt warrior pally and other rogues not to mention jarraxus, even if it don't destroy a weapon a 3/2 for 2 isn't even all that bad. All in all the hunter rogue matchup is hugely in favor of hunter no matter what, as a rogue you use your lifepoints as a another source of resource. Not being able to do so is a huge disadvantage and you often find yourself just trying to keep up without a good hand. Similarly to the hunter - lock matchup where you can't really hero power at all, rendering your hero power useless.

All true, but in this matchup you should risk it. You should look at your cards as damage resources to his face and try to keep your minions alive because leaving minions on the board and attacking with tempo is still gonna do more damage then his chargers. Maybe the part where i say don't trade with your minions is extreme, you trade your weak minions for same very scary ones, but you shouldn't trade half of a Defias Ringleader into a Leper Gnome or a Bluegill Warrior imo.

All this from a hunter's player perspective, when I play as Hunter against a rogue i loose to aggressive pressure from very early on, like Defias Ringleader turn 2, Harvest Golem turn 3 and Defender of Argus turn 4.

Second one is better, swap Chillwind Yeti for Argent Squire and Faceless Manipulator for Leeroy Jenkins

posted a message on Let's try again the Shaman!

I think Argent Squire is necessary in Shaman right know to deal with aggro decks. Also in combination with Flametongue Totem can get out of control. You should cut Ragnaros the Firelord, Faceless Manipulator, Earth Elemental for 2 Argent Squire and 1 Leeroy Jenkins. I'm not a fan of Harvest Golem in Shaman and also if you want to run it not more then 1. You can replace 1 with Forked Lightning (not a fan of it), second Stormforged Axe or second Defender of Argus or Wild Pyromancer (I have mixed opinions about this card, it can be good but you need to play carefully since sometimes it blocks your plays).

Always attempt to control the board early on and clear the opponent's board as much as possible. Use all your mana every turn and don't get greedy, Lightning Storm before everything gets out of control and use Hex aggressively if necessary.

posted a message on Upcoming balance changes and What it means for the META

I think Tinkmaster Overspark is insanely good in aggro decks now. It will be more used to Think one of your weak minions into a sure 5/5 then your opponent's legendaries. Turn 1 Argent Squire, Turn 2 Coin into 3/3 and 5/5. He didn't even use a card like Innervate into Chillwind Yeti and he has a bigger body and a 3/3 in addition.

I don't think is garbage, it's just a totally different card from what we are used to. It is more situational, yet more powerful. Not only has he now better stats, but the ability to control the outcome of the transformation. Even on a full board, you could turn one of your minion into a Devilsaur or your opponent's into a Squirrel. Also, coining him Turn 2 to get an assured Devilsaur will be the now OP-opener.

Update: Ok, I just read that the outcome of the 1/1 or 5/5 is also STILL random (although the card doesn't explicitly state it)... so yes it's garbage...

Have you tried shaman? It's a good answer to control warrior and i made it to rank 3 with a no-legendary list last season. I posted the list here: http://www.hearthpwn.com/forums/class-discussion/shaman/6578-rank-5-shaman

posted a message on How the Ladder looks like (Ironic)

I have been playing some games on the ladder after the reset, and here are some stories about what I had to face. It seems that with the beginning of the new season, the luck has reached some new highs. Maybe some of you can identify himself in one of these situations, make some fun about how crazy this game con go and share his/her stories with the community.

It's been a pretty harsh day result-wise, I was pretty listless today. I wasn't playing at my best, mostly tweaking some decks and seeing how the ladder looks like. But soon all this perfect combos from my opponent seemed to be hilarious, it wasn't worth to even try to compare, so I made some fun out of it and was there in front of the screen seeing if my opponent was able to do some constructed bullshit worth to be written. Here we go.

    Against the token-Druid:

Turn 1 Innervate, Coin into Violet Teacher, Innervate into Nat Pagle.

Pretty strong opening, but disappears compared to the real Druid out there, this guy:

    Against the midrange-Druid:

Here we see the real Druid, token-Druid sucks in comparison.

Turn 1 Innervate, Coin into Chillwind Yeti

Turn 2 Innervate into Chillwind Yeti.

Turn 3 Nat Pagle (of course he draws!)

Turn 4 Sunfury Protector to protect the Fisherman (no Yetis anymore, i feel sorry for him)

Turn 5 Druid of the Claw to the face

Turn 6 Druid of the Claw to the face

    Against the Hunter:

Me with Shaman at 18 health at turn 6, I couldn't believe i made it so far, but the genius plays double Animal Companion into double Huffer to the face. I was worthless.

What about you? Please share your experiences :)

I'm taking this deck for a spin now, and I was just wondering, if you had Cairne or Tink, how would you try to fit them in?

Edit: Was also thinking about subbing in Leeroy for one of the Commanders, thoughts?

Tinkmaster Overspark (to be used on one of your totems or a de-shielded Argent Squire early on against aggro, since there is no valid target in their decks) over one Defender of Argus and I wouldn't play Cairne Bloodhoof, I much prefer double Argent Commander right now due to the new flow of warlock aggros at higher ranks. In a control match-up Shaman is ahead because of the Hex so I fear more the aggro decks. As for Leeroy Jenkins, I wouldn't play him alone but with Windfury for sure. You can try to find space, but I think you have to cut Argent Squire which is one of the best way this deck has to deal with aggro.
