so people are turning to flare hunter or placing kezans in their deck, which can break freeze mage.

Kezan is actually terrible vs Secret Paladin. That's funny how this misunderstanding could lead Freeze Mage to being less viable  :)

I never said it was good against secret pally. I'm just saying that people are placing kezan mystics in their deck, which is exactly why freeze mage isn't the top choice atm. Maybe I should've put brackets after kezan mystic saying it isn't really a counter to secrets pally.

But yea, i agree with you that the misunderstanding from the people who do so are causing freeze mages to be less viable.

I guess new players do change the meta unknowingly.

No. You are not entitled to a refund because the actual card itself hasn't changed. It's still the same as it was since it was released in beta.

What you are whining about is the fact that you can no longer exploit a bug in the game.

Think of it this way, the game itself has "exploited" Nozdormu. So, in this case, the game needs to be fixed, not Nozdormu, which is what blizzard has done.

Spellpower mage, a tempo deck, is strong in the current meta.

Freeze mage is decent in the current meta, not my top pick though. Reason: lots of secret pallies flooding the meta right now so people are turning to flare hunter or placing kezans in their deck, which can break freeze mage.

posted a message on Varian Wrynn was underhyped.

Varian Wrynn is ridiculously strong. He pulled me my Ysera , Troggzor the Earthinator and a Shield Slam in one match against a rogue.

Probably was the easiest win in my life. He's my new favourite legendary.

Meta is changing too quickly atm for me to grind the ladder. Constantly switching between different decks. Aggro, mid, control, aggro, mid, control...etc. Rank 16 to 20 atm

    Pally shaman rogue.

Alexstraza isnt specifically outstanding in any of these decks. (Pally maybe due to dragon consort.. Still think not). Rogue - Never. Shaman (mine deck is basically OTK shaman, alexstraza then Crackle , lightning bolt , etc. Sometimes its OTK cause Thaurissan made my spells free on alexstraza turn)

Ragnaros fits Pally and Shaman rather well.

Ysera will be awesome in pally. thats about it.

Thalnos is my choice. It fits in a lot of decks. - And is rather insane, allowing you to draw and provides spell damage.

Very true. But, with Bloodmage Thalnos he can substitute temporary cards that can serve one or the other effect. Whereas with the other legendaries he's picked, you can't really get a card that will replace their effect.

@OP: You play paladin right? Craft Tirion Fordring. You won't regret it one bit. Seriously...I had to reread your post to make sure you hadn't said you had tirion already...but yea, if you play pally, tirion is a must.

EDIT#2: If you're still deadset about crafting a dragon, then Alexstrasza is your better dragon. A turn 7 play means you dealt 15 damage or healed for 15 while playing an 8/8 on the board. It demands immediate action. Ysera, although very nice as well, can still go on a couple of turns untouched, and the opponent can set up for lethal more easily than if you had played Alexstrasza.

EDIT#3: If you don't play paladin as much as the other classes, or don't plan to a full dragon paladin at the end of the BRM release, then you pretty much are left with the only other option, which is Ragnaros the Firelord, as he is good in ANY deck.

Did you get that Golden Gruul from a regular pack or from a spectator quest pack? The reason I ask is because I just got the spectator quest pack and this was my reward : http://i.imgur.com/gZ73Axp.png

I'm torn on what to do. One the one hand, I've always been the first one to preach about NEVER EVER dust a golden legendary because it's so rare that you might never see it again. Also, metas and expansions change the game so cards not good today can be good tomorrow. Lastly (contrary to popular belief) Blizzard does buff cards on rare occasion. Now having said all that.... I'm thinking about dusting this Golden Gruul lol. If it had been any other legendary (even Hemit) I wouldn't even consider dusting but in the particular case of Gruul I just don't see how it's ever going to be anything more than a 8/8 for 8 mana. I don't see an ability in Gruul that will ever have potential to synergize with anything in the future. Even if there is a card made that does something whenever a minion ability procs, I'm still not sold on Gruuls value. I'll think about it, but I suspect I'm just looking at my new Ysera.

EDIT: To Marineking, I'll ask you the same question I ask the others who present the same dilemma: Are you a collector? If you are, then do not disenchant a golden anything. If you aren't then go ahead and make that ysera.

posted a message on Return of the Kanker (Aggro Rogue) -- Updated and Refined!
    Quote from Traxal »

I did quite a bit of fooling around with a deck like this the last few seasons (not so much this season).  There is a thread about it further down the rogue forum called something like "why is aggro rogue not viable".

Anyway,  I have tried leeroy and I just don't like him anymore.  Too slow now at 5 mana and unless you just need 6 dmg, he ends up being a dead card.  I kind of feel the same way with arcane golem.  I only ran 1 because I found that I didn't like playing them early game because it allowed the opponent faster belchers.  I use assassins blade and it helps some of the match ups like control warrior or priest where you just need more dmg before the game goes too long.  If you get an AB with a poison or tinker's on it, its the only way I found to be more consistent in those matchups.   Especially now that rogue isn't as popular, Harrison is less common - people are teching more for zoo instead of weapon classes.

Speaking of zoo, one concerning thing for this deck is the rise of zoo this season.  This deck is not good against zoo at all - I'd say its minimum 60/40 in their favor, possibly 70/30.  Maybe the differences in your deck compared to mine help some, but I just found it to be too hard.  You don't get much dmg out of your early drops because they have stickier and more valuable early minions.  Your coldlights end up helping them more sometimes so I just find it frustrating to play them.  Maybe I'm doing it wrong, I dont know.  How is your deck vs zoo?

One thing I am watchful for is the slowing down of the meta with the dragon cards coming out soon.  If everyone moves to late game warrior, paly, priest dragon decks with ysera and  chromaggus etc, I think it will open the door for this type of fast deck maybe.  Especially since hungry dragons will eat belchers, maybe they will be less played.  If Sludge Belcher sees less play, this deck gets a boost.  While they are sitting around waiting to play their turn 9 dragons, we are destroying their face turn 7.

I agree with pretty much everything you've said. Currently, aggro rogue suffers from the prevalence of taunts, which is increasing due to the saturation of face hunter and zoo lock decks. However, I too predict that once the complete BRM set has been released, the meta will start shifting back anti-control.

In the meantime, I would suggest playing my miracle weaver deck. I haven't updated the deck list since gvg, but basically it's a malygod rogue with some miracle whip on top.

I'm going to go test the OP's deck a little in casual to see how well the synergy between the cards fares. Anyhow, here's to hoping aggro rogue does become viable down the road, because it is a lot of fun when it works.
