posted a message on So about that failed card reveal today...

Go out to the bar, have a few beers, and come back tomorrow to look for the card. One card revel will not make that much of a difference in the long run.

One very important piece of information you may not have that might help. In April of 2018 the 2016 sets rotate out of standard to Wild. Seeing you have a small collection now, wild would not be a good place to play as players can use all of the old cards. I would recommend you concentrate on the Classic set and those that came out in 2017 so you can play them longer than 4 months.

Noone mentions how insane this would be with Keleseth and buffs...

The generated cards or hitting the opponent will not get the Keleseth buff.

    Quote from Gunnolf >>

If you started playing at release you can play the entire game by being completely f2p. However, if you started later on and have a shoddy base selection $100-150 per year should equalise you well enough for you to eventually go f2p. :)

There are two ways to build for a new player. With money or with time or a combination of the two but one will be larger. Your right you dont need to spend a lot. Building the base is the hardest part. Some people want to be instantly at the top. That isnt going to happen even if you have all the cards. Playing a lot while your building a collection has advantages. You learn how the game plays and what you can substitute and still win.

You forgot the endless "should I craft (insert good card here) or (insert other good card here)". Most will have private collections if they have added them at all, and give little to no other information.

posted a message on Hearthstone, my spending is getting out of hand.

O my, just in 60 pack bundles you have spent $1749.75. Everything totaled up is 2484.38. I wouldnt recommend anyone spend that kind of money on virtual goods.

posted a message on How large is your collection?

The poll isnt really useful to newer players. Newer players like myself are likelly focusing in on the Classic and 2017 sets with little time left to play 2016 sets.
I do see wild in my future, but starting a month before Ungoro my collection of older cards is somewhere in the 10%-20% range. My collection of newer cards is only in the 60%-70%.I April of 2018 it will go up to 80%-95% when Wotog and Gadgetzan rotate out because I have been focusing on Classic and this years sets and only filling in some cards from the 2016 sets.

posted a message on Hi guys, I am new here, any advice to get me on my feet?

There will be a little red jar next to cards you dont have in deck lists. The cards that are faded out in the collection manager are ones you dont have.

Once you import your collection, any deck lists on Hearthpwn will show missing cards and how much dust you need to create the deck.

A word of caution for a new player. Be very very careful when dusting cards to create others. You may dust something that is really good or becomes good overnight. There are no fast fixes for building a collection/decks other than spending lots and lots of money. If you plan on buying packs of the next expansion buy the pre release deal now. You will get 10 pack more, for the same cost, than if you wait until after its release.

If a mage plays the weapon, I will likely leave it alone. It will be fun to watch them mill their own deck.
