Fluxflashor posted a message on Design Philosophy on Hearthstone's Golden Animations with HadidjahPosted in: NewsI'm surprised this still needs to be said in 2017, but here goes.
There are multiple teams within the Hearthstone Team. Hadidjah is on the art side of things which has nothing to do with game balance. This was also very likely posted when she wasn't actually at work due to going out at 11 pm pacific which showcases dedication to reviewing community feedback and responding where possible. Other members of the Hearthstone team also comment on stuff on their off-time, which may be the only chance they get to respond to the community during the day.
While this doesn't excuse poor communication at times from the balance side of things, which in part is due to their philosophy of wanting to watch things at times, you're barking up the wrong tree here. This actually goes back into the issue of developer harassment that was brought up back in January that I covered.

Perhaps if they didn't feel like they were constantly being attacked, we'd see much more community interaction. Keep it constructive.
Out of curiosity, what specifics do you want to see the game design portion of the team address? Rather than simply complaining, mention exactly what you'd be interested in seeing. That's actual important community feedback instead of just "they don't answer our questions".

I know incessantly bitching about everything is 'in' on Hearthpwn right now but...relax yeah? Play something else for a week or something.

Rogues core set (basic and classic) is the real reason rogue is always powerful. No mater how weak their expansion cards appear to be they always find a way into the meta and tournament lineups. Cards like Preparation, Backstab, Edwin VanCleef, Shadowstep, Fan of Knives, Sprint and Eviscerate have been too long a staple of rogue even if not all of these are currently used in the same/top deck they do rotate in and out of either the tempo or miracle archetype with alarming frequency. Other classes have seen their core cards nerfed or HoF but rogue has barely been touched since conceal HoF and blade flurry nerf. I would start with rogues core set first before expansion cards

It’s why I quite like some of the smaller streamers or streamers with good mods. I like streamers like Kripp but the chat always puts me off.

I actually believe this would work with Mecha'thun.
Hearthstone doesn’t work at all like MtG’s stack. Each effect has a phase associated with it. Any deathrattle effect triggered due to one of these phases acts as a phase within a phase. Deathrattle in particular can interject like this and are not stacked on the pile as it were.
It is true however that all effects such as deathrattles or end of turn that are triggered at the same time must all play out before any subsequent triggers or effects can activate. It is also true that the effect such as deathrattles that were triggered simultaneously will go off in order of play. This may lead to different outcomes in certain cases but all simultaneously triggered effects must play out.
For example when you AoE and kill a Leper Gnome and a Zombie Chow at the same time even if the gnome was played first a player with less then 2hp would still survive because both effects were triggered at the same time so both must play out.
However if we consider deathrattles like Mecha'thun and eggs we get the following play out differently.
If Mecha'thun is played before an egg and both are killed at the same time Mecha'thun will still kill the opponent because even though both deathrattles have to play out the Mecha'thun one goes first it won’t detect any minion in play as the egg is removed from play but hasn’t yet spawned its deathrattle. The player is marked for death and then then egg spawns it’s content. All deathrattles have played out but the player marked for death isn’t cancelled and the player dies.
If the egg is played first it would spawn the deathrattle and Mecha'thun’s condition is no longer valid.
This was similar to how Sylvanas Windrunner wouldn’t steal an egg’s content if she dies at the same time as an egg if she was played first but would if she was played second.
Spells that have multiple separate effects have a phase for each effect.
Take Blizzard for example. First it deals 2 damage to all minions. Then it freezes all minions separately. That’s why if Blizzard pops an egg the minions that spawn will become frozen.
The order goes in the order of the text. It’s why Druid’s casting Ultimate Infestation upgrades any spellstones it draws because the draw phase of the spell is before the armour gain. But paladins don’t have the same luxury with Lay on Hands and their Spellstone because the heal is before the draw in this case.
So for Conjurer’s Calling it would almost certainly be split into 2 phases. The first phase would be the destroy a minion. The second phase would be to summon the 2 minions. Since Mecha'thun deathrattle would actually trigger and play out within the destroy a minion phase it will never see the 2 minions that would spawn from the second part of the spell. Therefore it would indeed work.
I guess we would just have to try it and find out.

This reminds me of when I played Civ a lot and people would always talk about things like ‘tile boni’ or ‘civ boni’ and I was like “WTF is boni?”. And the I realised they were meaning bonuses. I’m like “FFS the plural of bonus is bonuses stop trying to sound smart and using boni. Not everything that ends ‘us’ pluralises to ‘i’ ”. I dont normally get too grammar nazi over things but that one really annoyed me.

There’s a very good hearthstone collection spreadsheet out there which works everything out. Look for “hearthstone collection spreadsheet” on google.
Anyway it calculates average of 352 packs for most expansion sets.

It’s clear for these things they seriously miss Ben Brode.
Should stick with 1 developer either Peter Whelan or Mike Donais and one streamer/pro. I like Cora for casting but she doesn’t really have the skill or the charisma for this type of on the fly type thing, I think a bigger streamer would be better.
Not testing the special stream build of Rise of Shadows was a big mistake. The whole no lackey generation was a school boy error in quality control.
3 people led to too much chat during turns. They said we wanted to see game play then just talked and roped every turn and the talking always led to terrible plays. This was super fustrating.
Overall not good.

Nope, sorry don’t get the hype with this one.
Seems trash to me. Too much of the “good” stuff being mentioned seems to be very niche or best case scenario.
To be any good (better than holy light) it has to heal for more than 6 or least force your opponent to waste damage on the minion you put it on. Sure some synergies are out there but don’t seem strong enough. 2 mana for a bit of healing seems very weak. This require a minion on the board that can actually attack or have taunt to make any impact. It has zero tempo and little value. Twinspell does make it a bit better but not enough IMO.
Control decks are the only ones interested in this type of card and most of those play very few minions. So no sorry don’t see it.

People that don’t understand why people complain about bots need to understand it’s not about “a free win and move on” its for these following reasons.
1. It’s not actually that fun to play a game against an AI when you are expecting to join ranked or casual to play real people.
2. Bots often play they same basic decks it’s not fun to face the exact same deck/experience over and over.
3. It’s bad for the new player experience that don’t have particular high ranks because they are more likely to have game against bots and this is more likely to make them feel like the ladder isn’t worth bothering with if it’s just full of bots.
4. Bots and selling the accounts are a form of cheating. Most people work hard for their account either grinding or paying for packs. But if someone just buys an account full of gold and packs for a lot less than other legitimate players this makes others feel cheated.
5. Blizzard make less money, this follows on from number 4. If people just buy bottled accounts they aren’t buying packs. Less packs being brought equals less profit for blizzard which equals less insensitive to put money into developing they game.
Botting is far from harmless as some people might think. It’s why Blizzard need better in game reporting tools for both botting and abuse.

Nice biased poll.
