With the new expansions blizzard only pushes aggro decks, almost no card came in that could help control decks.

First off, we are dominated by Midrange/Tempo not Aggro.
Tempo is just a politically correct term for Aggro.
That is absolute bullshit since Aggro-decks try to finish the game as fast as possible while Tempo-decks try to outtempo the opponent and dominate the board, only after that they start going face, so Tempo-decks are always Midrange. A real Aggro-deck never fights for board-control over facedamage unless they absolutly have to.
Dude you don't know what you are talking about.
a tempo deck out values the opponent with more efficient cards (and that is quoting trump) and don't say that's a value deck please, as a value deck works on reducing card cost.

He was closer than you on the term for tempo deck though, tempo is not agro at all, it's just faster than control. LoL so really just anything that isn't control then!? :D

as long as Reno is around, control decks are going to be a pain in the arse to deal with.. there might not be as many of them as some of the faster decks, but there are still extremely viable control decks out there right now being played, and I'm sure there will be new stuff with the new adventure.. the cards haven't really been tested enough to know how good they will be.

    also. wild is control central.

posted a message on Is Karazhan Pushing Standard to 100% Aggro?

I like all the decks.. tbh I don't think any of the competitive decks are not fun to play or play against.. most annoying thing in the game is reno to me right now, but I still just try and work out how to crush that deck... I still don't know how to beat a reno player who keeps playing the reno back into their deck though, I mean they can fully heal at any point, without a OTK deck you can't beat that (4 weeks in game at most though so I am still earning how to beat these decks)

I thought that stuff like c'thun warrior was top tier though, it certainly seems strong when I've faced it.. one of the main weaknesses of dragon warrior is a good control deck like renolock and c'thun warrior, so I'm a little lost here really... as far as I knew the top end expensive as hell control decks were the best in the game!?

Again, I'm new so if anyone would like to explain this more how the control decks are lacking, I'd be more than happy to read what you have to say... I'm like a little sponge just wanting to soak up all the hearthstone! :)

C'thun warrior is midrange, not control

When your win condition STARTS at turn 10 or, more likely, consists of waiting well past turn 10, playing a 10 mana minion, letting it die, playing a combination of a 3 mana minion and an 8 mana minion so that you can shuffle 2 more 10 mana minions into your deck, then choose to find them and play them both, you aren't midrange.
Having a few cards that are useful in the early game isn't midrange.  It's when you choose to go aggressive.  C'Thun warrior doesn't even consider the first C'thun it's win condition.  It's control.  I mocks the old Alex/Grom deck as 'baby control' in the schoolyard.  If you get anymore delayed you've gone past normal control and gone into Fatigue decks.

Before Old Gods, along with control warrior, we had Freeze mage (though some argue that's combo), handlock, and barely priest.  Standard and the revamp killed handlock and priest.  Warrior metas kill freeze mage decks. That leaves warrior, which is a reason why we have so many since it's the only remaining control deck.
There was some attempt at N'Zoth decks but they are proving not reliable enough in standard.  C'thun warrior is the only deck that works in a control way: all other C'thu ndecks rely more on their pre-cthun minions and, thus, are more Tempo oriented.  Point is that Old Gods didn't really put in new control decks that are viable.
Though really the BIG issue is Ranked, which punishes running control purely based on the ranking system.  Even if control decks dominated, you'd still be seeing few of them in ranked due to aggro being a much more efficient way to rank up.
the one that steals the other guys c'thun and stuff looks awesome... I'd love to have the cards for that deck.

I had not realized control was in such a bad place.... it may have a lot to do with how expensive the decks are to build though.. cheaper and faster decks are a lot more economic to play from what I've gathered anyway. Not to mention people probably want to play as many games as possible, I can imagine control vs control taking a very long time... not that this a bad thing in and of itself, but when you're talking about competitive ladder, for me I don't think this meshes... and besides there is wild where you can play anything you want, that's where all the control decks are.

I do think Blizzard may have intended it to be this way, and maybe they are trying to speed up ladder play or something.... it's something to ponder over anyway..

let me know what you guys think.

No Leeroy have nothing to do in my deck. It was just a part of joke.

I use Deathwing. He saved me a lot of mirror matches. And I can't change description of deck because I missclicked to arena type.

It's just one card. In 90% of matches it won't be different to you, deathwing of rafaam. Just use what by your opinion works.

    Bad eng. I regret nothing.

LoL, that joke made me craft leeroy... oh well. it was either this one or faster than fast... someone in comments told me leeroy was the most important to craft... yeah, I realized myself this was BS after using him in the deck! :'D

The only people who deserve these kind of messages are Reno Jackson players

Strange, i could say the same but for zoo and face shaman players.
am i a bad person for genuinely loling at this?
Because deep inside you know it to be true, but still play these decks pretty much every single day even though you have a pretty good collection and don't really need to? If so then...yeah....yeah you suck and should feel ashamed of yourself! :p
If you are playing a deck that revolves around just throwing everything to face and hoping you will be able to win the game before your opponent manage to get his/her deck to really do anything you are a huge detriment to the game and deserve some shaming.
Not that I ever do that myself, I LOVE it when ppl do it to me...especially aggrotards who rage because of Reno Jackson or smth, but I would say you made your bed and you must sleep in it if you are abusing such a horrible tactic that completely ruins the fun for anyone trying to play something a little more complicated than just brainless face-rush.
sorry dude, but you do realize you need agro and tempo and stuff, as well as control to complete the game.. it's like yin and yang, one can not exist without other, getting mad cos someone can beat your slow deck is futile.. learn to counter them, adopt your deck to be able to counter the deck you hate!?

and before you get angry.. been playing the game less than a month and this is my first trading card game. from the perspective of a new player, it's impossible to play control, it's too expensive to craft, even when you buy packs it's not something that can be achieved for a while. The only thing like control we have is zoolock, but you guys hate that too. Maybe we would see more control decks at lower ranks if there were some more affordable and competitive options.. as it stands, there are not a lot of competitive options for the newer player.

I understand this is a pretty niche perspective as most have been playing the game for a while, but I often find this is completely overlooked by veteran control players... not everyone can even build those decks, so what else can we do? we have to build what we can to gain a foothold.

I also play technical combo decks as they are not expensive to run, but I play dragon warrior, zoolock, mid hunter.. all the ones people hate.. why? because it's fun and it doesn't suck.. and if I can find a way to beat someone who has the advantage of much, much better cards, with not so good cards, I'm going to do it and laugh while doing it...

Seriously though, the only people who can build control decks either can spend a lot of money on the game (so streamer or something that basically gets their packs paid for by viewers, this sort of thing) or have been playing since the start of the game pretty much! they require way too many legendary cards to ever work for the little guys... so we have to build decks that can counter what you guys have... just be thankful that we can make what we got work and you aren't facing a bunch of uncompetitive nonsense... unless that's what this is all about.. you think you should have an advantage cos you ground out all them cards? I guess I can understand that, but then the game would be broken... the little guys need a way to compete.

I think it's funny when you beat them and they request to be your friend and then cuss you out.  Most of the time they they unfriend before I can even respond though so I'm just laughing.

A lot here say never to accept a friend request after a loss.  I disagree with that.  I've made some good in game friends I chat with who asked to be a friend after a loss.  Sometimes you laugh together at the dumb blind luck or sometimes they ask you something about your deck or their own deck.

So yeah man if you get an asshat just shrug it off and laugh.  Remember you can always hit that unfriend button but they will probably do it first!

I have tried to add people after games before and they never accept. it's always just to have been to congratulate them on a play or something though.. I guess you can't be too safe with this going on.
