I play something very similar with success similar to yours, though honestly I play it more in Casual than on the ladder so take that into account. My differences/reasoning are:

-1 Wyrmguard - a lot of silence/transform out there now so they rarely taunt effectively. 1 is fine

-1 Northshire Cleric - one is fine unless you happen get both fairly early. nobody wants to play a Cleric on turn 9

-1 Divine Hymn - honestly i'd like to have two but wanted a free slot and I can usually grab a second copy off the Witchdoctors

+1 Acidic Swamp Ooze - so many good weapons out now it's almost a must-have.

+1 Shadow Word: Pain - makes the difference against certain key cards (Magic carpet in zoolock , Mosh'Ogg Enforcer in wall/resurrect priest, etc)

+1 Archmage Vargoth - can be very helpful and is a "must kill" for you opponents. Against other Controls I've had good success doing Vargoth plus double Mind Blasts and then he hits #3 for a 15 dmg finisher.

Thanks for the points. I had played Vargoth before but it just too slow. How does the weapon removal improve your winrate vs warriors? Ahainst rogues I'm currently at 80% so for that matchup it doesn't seem necessary.

I understand pain, but I just felt the silence is more important right now the other changes seem to decrease consistency too much. Btw having cleric on 9 doesn't have to be horrible if you can combine it with heal you draw a card and get some more minions on the board.

Ooze helps mostly when you're playing Bomb/Blastmaster Boom since it kills Wrenchcalibur. Denying 1-3 bombs can make a big difference given how much of your deck you're going to run through. And while not necessary against tempo/lackey rogue, I've found it invaluable (and earned a few insta-concedes) against the occasional "pure" tesspionage rogue who builds a 8/5 Spectral Cutlass that I remove.

I don't disagree on your points about my cards/why you include yours. I tend to focus on versatility and teching vs a what i'm seeing a lot of in my local meta. If I start seeing less control I'll probably kill Vargoth & same with Pain if less zoolock, but for now i'm running against so many control shamans, big shamans, mech warriors, & carpet zoolocks, that I've gotten good value off both those cards often enough to keep.

    Good luck out there!

Yeah I think ooze is good if you face enough blastmasters, however I face mostly control warriors and vs them I don't think it helps enough. The same for the rest of the tech choices you have done, however too much "tech" will narrow down the rest of the pressure that you can do with your deck and that is what had won me the most games. Still if they work for you keep it going so we can show what priest can still do :-)

What I do wonder that if you want tech vs big boards if mass hysteria wouldn't be better as an include. Most of the big minions in this deck come online after t5 anyway so that might work.

@endlesstides have you enjoyed/had success with the deck? The first is most important, but the second might keep it enjoyable for a longer time.

I'm currently still on 58% winrate but not progressing because I seem to have hit a control warrior bubble where I just can't win vs them (between their armor gain they can also remove all my minions (also the big ones) when they hit r10.

Just won with my control dragon priest deck vs a nomi priest where we both (almost) drew our entire deck before t9. I think both him and me misplayed but it was fun to win ;-)

I'll give it a go. I don't get a chance to play much and I'm meme playing at Rank 20 in Standard at the moment. But I'll let you know how it goes.

I'm always looking for Dragon type decks to play and this hits the right notes for me. 👍

Thanks. Good luck and have fun! The deck has a pretty steep learning curve I feel and curious how you will do! If you need any hints, please le me know

I have now played this deck for 36 games (yes I know not a whole bunch of games). With a 60% winrate at r8. The deck does not beat warrior or hunter (both around 35%) but has a positive winrate vs other classes.

This is what I'm playing right now, let me know if you see any improvements.

Always great to win against big priest.

Played highlander priest and smart usage of removal+my archivist teched in won me the match in the end. Note to self: 3 lightning bombs kills big priest. (Archivist is not specifically teched in for big priest but against other control decks, especially because I reach  fatigue earlier because I draw quite a lot)

posted a message on Let's make all Classic Cards F2P

@mojo your assumption is that the classic set is not bought a lot and blizzard will make more revenue (by attracting new players) when they would make it free.

My assumption is that the classic set is being bought (who has bought the welcome bundle...) and that blizzard would have made the decision to make the set free when that would make them more revenue.

My assumption is based on the intelligence of the sales department of a big (successful) company. Also it's known that the amount of registered users has increased by 40% between half 2017 to end of 2018 (to 100 million). This doesn't say anything about active users, but makes clear that there is a big enough influx of (potential) new players still. Part of those players will stick around and another part will spend money on the game.

We both made assumptions and we are both uncertain if those are correct. Calling my assumptions a fallacy however, while maintaining your own assumptions as not being a fallacy, gives the impression you are not willing to listen to other opinions.

That is your right, but doesn't add anything to the discussion either.

Have you seen the posts being made by the no side?  Do I really have to link them to prove my point.

Some of the most toxic arrogant selfish and insulting shit but I don't see you calling them out.

How bout you tackle my points and not pick and chose my valid criticisms of those who are voting no.

Do you think this game is good for new players?  Would you recommend this game to friends.  If you are answering yes to either then you know nothing about good game balance or development of a good F2P experience.

Have you seen my post (page 7 last one) you can disagree but it's not selfish. Without enough revenue from HS the game will be closed down. That's bad for everybody. I'm f2p myself and started after unguro so I understand what people are coming from, but I don't think this is the solution (if there is a problem, which I'm also not certain about)

No because: it would leave blizzard with less money. And that's a bad thing because if there will not be enough money coming from this game shareholders/financial responsible @ blizzard will demand changes/higher roi. In the end they will stop Hearthstone altogether.

The problem here is that we don't have hard data on how much Blizzard actually makes from classic/wild packs and old adventures. My assumption for my initial post was that it is nowhere near the money they are making from actual new expansions.

We indeed don't have hard data, so either assumption could be true. I am pretty certain that most new players would buy the welcome bundle at least so that is one moment classic packs are bought.

However I believe a big company like blizzard has an idea what would bring them the best revenue or check if things should be changed because of decreasing amount of players.

If they would get more revenue (mid to long term) by making (part of) the packs free they will do it.

The alternative I proposed would resolve most issues for new players and would be less of an impact to Blizzard.

As drunkenbunny above this post mentioned if they would add a small tutorial to those decks that would be of even bigger benefit.

I voted no but feel there is an alternative.

My alternative would be: give a new player all the cards from a random classic deck recipe. They will receive some dust/some legendaries and a deck to start their learning into Hearthstone.

This will allow the new player experience to be better while keeping the game profitable from everybody that want a quicker/more filled collection.

Thanks for the list. Seems to work wrll. Didn't have either hagatha and missing a watleader so swapped them for an ooze an lava burst and a bloodlust. Lost vs a warrior who I got down to 2 hp but he stabilized after it (while I drew badly)

The deck I'm running is the same as 2 posts above and it does good on cutrent rank (r7 now) with a positive winrate. The winrate is lower as it could be because I didn't reset when starting this iteration of the deck. I have only been able to play around 30 games so could give u guys the matchup stats but those will most likely be inflated

    This is the deck:

One Holy Nova should probably be cut for Zilliax. You already had 2 Mass Hysteria, so you had enough board clear.

Yeah seems likely. I don't want to pollute my res pole too much, but not getting to the late games doesn't help ;-) I'll play a couple of games more to see how it goes but if I face too much agression I'll try out your advice, thanks.

If you're facing decks where this matter (aka Control Warrior) just don't play Zilliax.

Yeah that's what I'm doing now with the deck highlighted above. I think this deck is good enough to have a positive winrate and allows for great board swings. Depending on the matchup you might not want to play your taunts so that is something to keep in check. Although one taunt, especially infiltrator is generally nice to have to protect you other res minions

Well from not polluting my ress pool to a more combo oriented deck. I now have added taunts and removed some/most of the single target removal.

I don't always otk now, but I can at least win vs all the druids I'm facing, most decks are not able to hande a big board of minions on t9 (mass resurrect) while removing their threats.

Vargoth is a really strong addition. Great with resurrect, but also vivid nightmare/5/5 clone card gives you 4 of them... And vs slower decks you can still do an otk when lucky enough ;-)

posted a message on is priest now unplayable class?

I am now playing this around r8. It has a otk finish but you don't need to always use it to win. Because of the taunt and aoe you have a chance against token and murloc. Typically whenever you use mass resurrect and you also res vargoth you have a big board of minions which most classes can't remove late game. This has won me as much games as the otk. (Also 2 vargoths in board+ velen + mind blast is a nice finish which I have pulled off a couple of times.
