No, you cant kill it and yes it will go dormant. I do not recommend recruiting The Darkness. it only goes dormant and doesn't leave any candles to be drawn, meaning you lost one minion spot on the field, permanently.
Dormant is the same thing Sherazin, Corpse Flower does when it dies. It can't be removed, targeted or affected in any way until it goes un-dormant.
That means you can't "wake" The Darkness by silencing it, because you can't target it with anything. Only way to do it is with the Darkness Candles.
That also mean you can't get The Darkness with Evolve or Forbidden Shaping or Recruit ways either, at least how you want to. It arrives, goes dormant, but since you didnt get any candles because it's battlecry didn't trigger, it stays dormant, forever.
1. Cry in corner, losing my will to live. 2. "fuck it!" I say, reject my humanity and embrace insanity. 3. Craft or get two To My Side!s 4. Build a Deck with no minions. 5. Enter ranked play and never use other deck again. 6. stay forever rank 20-25, lose my job, my family, everything and watch as my life wastes away until the end. 7. I embrace sweet taste of death, and say hello to Lucifer as I decent into hell, where I'm made to play Rhok'delar deck for eternity.
2. it can do more damage than either to all minions (expect Meteor's 15 single target damage)
3. You can build deck around (especially along with the new Dragoncaller Alanna
4. It's a blessing from random spell generators most of time for sure. I'm sure nobody expect people with only low cost spells are gonna complain.
there are downside too of course, like hitting own minions, and without deck build it in mind its very risky, but those aren't that big bother for Mage usually
I'd argue its worse then, cause while 4/4 weapon is good on its own, having a important deathrattle on it makes it less desirable than 4/2 with same deathrattle, because it will take longer to get the reward for destroying it, unless you use other weapon on it.
This expansion is called Kobolds and Catacombs or nerfs to evolve shaman?
how is this nerf to evolve shaman?
It's another rather high cost minion with low stats and with either ability that does not work for shaman or no ability at all. This expansion has added lot of such cards in the card pool, weakening overall chances of evolve shaman getting what he/she wants (aka big buff minions). Thank god they also addded Unstable Evolution to ease evolving a little.
Blade Flurryused to be really powerful combo piece. It was cheap, It could be buffed easily with both spell damage and buffing the weapon, which was also easy rogue to do AND it hit opponents face. I remember lots of times where I was wiped out by getting pounded in face with 10+/4Assassin's Blade and when I get some taunts to defend myself, they pull Blade Flurry and insta kill me and my board. I was glad the nerfed it, but I agree they nefred it oblivion. But even then, its part of classic set, so it will never cycle out of standard, so I kinda get why they nerfed it.

... it's a character whose name is also... Darkness...
Yeah i get what joke guy was going for when he post this but.... it still.. just... ugh...

he mentioned play 2 darkness cards (thanks to DK valeera's hero power)
That makes 6 candles.
you're free to lose 3 candles tops, so losing one is no biggie as long as you don't over do it.

Dormant isn't the same as "can't attack"

He means that it is debuff when you evolve 2 mana creature into a 3 mana and get this instead. and Devolve now is buffed.
also basic totems are 1 mana.

If I get Rhok'delar this will happen:
1. Cry in corner, losing my will to live.
2. "fuck it!" I say, reject my humanity and embrace insanity.
3. Craft or get two To My Side!s
4. Build a Deck with no minions.
5. Enter ranked play and never use other deck again.

7. I embrace sweet taste of death, and say hello to Lucifer as I decent into hell, where I'm made to play Rhok'delar deck for eternity.

Not that i see any issues with this
