Rommath would in absolutely insane in a discolock deck! Cool ideas all around.
You sure are right about that! I do find it curious though if whether Rommath would also work well in midrange decks since they play pretty much on curve each turn which would mean they'd have lesser cards in hand... Thank you very much for the feedback!
Good day, everyone! Welcome to the 7th installment of my Card Forge series (yeah, I know it's been quite a while since I made one of these XD), where I showcase some of my own card ideas. For this installment, I present to you Neutral minions that grant you access to class-specific spells. Please share your thoughts and comments, especially those with regards to the balance of the following cards.
Will not add the card to a player if he/she has a full hand, i.e. already has 10 cards in hand.
Honestly, I'm not entirely sure what decks this might be useful in since Twisting Nether is a very costly removal spell. Stall decks, maybe?
On Grand Magister Rommath
Can add at most 9 cards in your hand (unless Blizzard releases new classes, this will probably not change).
The number of cards added to your hand will depend on your current hand size, and will not exceed the hand size limit of 10 cards.
Simply put, if you have more than 1 card in hand, it will fill up your hand until you have exactly 10 cards in hand. If this be the case, then the classes the spells belong to will also be random.
The effect's pretty crazy, right? Yeah, but you have to keep in mind that you'll only have at most 6 mana left after playing this card (unless you have an Innervate/s or a Counterfeit Coin/s or you got one from the effect). 6 mana will probably not be enough to cast all of the spells you receive, but it's good enough to get something going.
Thanks for viewing the cards! Also, stay tuned for some upcoming bonus cards which I will always post sometime tomorrow! As always, please share your thoughts and comments below!
Personally, I'd prefer the 2nd version more since it also helps Rogue a lot very early on, though I think the statline would have to be 2-mana 2/2. It's not as good as Fiery War Axe but it doesn't need to be. This into SI:7 Agent at turn 3 can be very potent in the early game.
Just to be sure, what is the current Pokedex number? I believe it's 14 or 13, but I will hold off on creating the next one since I'm afraid to get it wrong and screw up the entire thread.
Yeah, I feel the same way. It's a mechanic that should have been implemented a long, long time ago and one I'm sure Blizzard has thought about (at least, I hope they've thought about it). It isn't really that complicated considering that Taunt has always been there since the beginning. And you're right in saying that spell-heavy decks would get countered by Channel, in the same way that decks with burst are countered by Taunt.
I'd love to see other people making cards with this mechanic, and hopefully Blizzard will implement this mechanic in the future as well :)
Maybe it's just me, but I don't see a lot of situations where this would be used over the original Alexstrasza. I'd love it if you would enlighten me about this, though.
Not a bad card, it's really good actually. It's pretty weak if you draw it early IMO, but it gets really good if you draw it later on, say at turn 5 (6-mana 5/8 Taunt) or turn 6 (7-mana 6/9 Taunt). If this were to be in the game ATM, it'd be in a pretty good spot since it's versatile in its cost - draw it early, and it becomes a decent enough wall to stop aggro; draw it late, and it acts as a buffer against Jade Golems. Nice card!
However, 1 thing and I think I didn't thought, it was the combo of: This + Inner Rage + Inner Rage, summoning this and a 6 cost minion at turn 4, I believe I should need to fix that or not?
I don't think the card is OP just because of that combo. I mean, you're spending 3 cards (and 4 mana) to play a 6/1 Charge and a random 6-drop. Not to mention there are a lot of shitty 6-drops. I believe the value isn't much when you consider double Innervate into an 8-drop can be just as good, if not better.
I don't think Nioxar is a bad card. Sure, it might be a worse Millhouse Manastorm in some cases, but it can literally force your opponent to skip a turn or help you set up lethal when used at the right moment. If all else fails, hey, at least you got a 3-mana 5/4 (the value! XD). It does get countered by Emperor Thaurissan and other cost reduction effects, so that also makes the card a bit worse...
Not sure if this works well with Loatheb, though...
But on a side note, it being neutral can open up absurd combos that we may never have thought possible. Buffadin is the obvious deck this would be used in, but who knows? Maybe Buff Warrior might become a thing in the future (highly unlikely, though). Still, I rate it 4 or very good! Nice job.
As a newcomer, I'd like to ask: How many seasons are there each year? I've only been in this forum for this season, so I don't quite know how many seasons there are per year and for how long this has been a thing...
Cards that buff this card while in hand (I'm looking at you, Don Han'Cho) can make this card really powerful. Can be broken if you have a single Charge minion to be buffed (like Leeroy Jenkins) and you have it go face, though the damage it can deal largely depends on RNG.

Sure, why not? This would benefit beginners greatly, which is exactly the point of Tavern Brawls (other than to have fun, of course).

Any minion is scary when used with Don Han'Cho. Ever heard of Doppelgangster? XD
