The draft mode cost money per run instead of cost "gold" and money if you want, and they try to improve it as a competitive mode, thats not a good conbination + "casuals" wont like the idea of pay every time they want to play either.
Purchasing a game that is still early access and complaining about it is ridiculous. No one forced you to purchase it.
Are you stupid? People aren't pissed at the 20$ price tag. They are pissed that literally everything in the game costs at least 1$ extra to play every single time that you want to play them. Also it is not early access, it launches next week ffs

Are you stupid? Do you not understand what these words mean "Artifact's economy issues and concerns are 100% valid" but the outrage over the concept of spending $20 to be entertained is just ridiculous. Play testing Beta is early access by definition. If you per-ordered the game you should have realized what you were purchasing.
You’re both saying the same thing guys! And yes, the Artifact economy sucks.
Constructed is extremely expensive if you buy packs/rare draft. The only modes with prizes cost money (it’s straight up gambling). The prizes for paid modes are incredibly ungenerous. And chase rares will probably cost a fortune on the secondary market.
That said, it’s worth $20 for the free play modes, precon decks, etc. It’s $20-worth of fun for sure. In terms of a game you keep playing and build a collection, hell no. Unless you’re Kripp-level rich.
I've been looking for a spot to say a thing that should be said, and here's as good a place as any . . .
Thanks Kripp.
I'm not a huge Kripp fan, the "get off my lawn" routine is tired, but I was shocked that someone with a profit motive to do otherwise would be so up front and open about the costs of this game. Artifact and Hearthstone have such different monetization models, they almost can't be compared.
I realize most people that play a great deal of Hearthstone buy packs with real money, but it is in no way required to enjoy the game.
This seems to not be the case with regard to Artifact. I almost dropped the $20 before watching Kripp's video, and he saved me the money.
I appreciate it.

Enjoying Americans winning in the Olympics is forbidden because it is political. A 14 plus page discussion of state-sponsored lawsuits against a multi-national corporation based on harassment, discrimination, and wrongful death allegations is apparently not political enough to raise an issue.

I don't know which video you are talking about. What I have seen so far Kripp is promoting this game at every level. I am very sure that he is getting paid by Valve like other streamers who Is playing Artifact.
You can now recycle cards into event tickets at a rate of 20 cards to 1 ticket. There is a "Recycle Cards" tab accessible from the collection. Note that each card will currently show "N/A" where the market price would be until the market is open. Sort by market price will sort by mana cost until the market is open.
You can now play bot matches and Call to Arms without claiming your starting package. This lets you try more of the game before you reach the point-of-no-return on refunds.

He has a video called "how much does Artifact cost?" or some such that is a very frank and open discussion on the subject. I have no doubt he's sponsored, but there's nothing wrong with that if you can still be honest.

First, i haven't read through all 8 pages here, so excuse me if i repeat stuff.
I have watched quiet the amount of Artifact gameplay over the last days, because i thought about buying it. And i came to the conclusion that i won't. I'd check it out if it would be free to play, but i'm not willing to pay 20€ upfront to get a game i don't even enjoy watching.
It's terribly slow and following all that's happening in all three lanes is just tedious. The whole gameplay is insanely slow, matches take ages. The minion (or creep) combat is awful. I saw clips where people would have won a game on the spot, just to have both their high attack champions being blocked by one creep, because those dudes decided to attack in a weird way. I thought Artifact was supposed to have little to no rng elements and then the attacks of minions, a core of the game are nothing but rng.
Then the monetization. Having to pay for tickets is awful in my opinion. And the changes are weird too. Artifact has a market, where you are supposed to be able to buy 'cheap' cards. Am i wrong or is the ticket thing just ruining that completely? Why would you even sell your cards if scrapping them for tickets is the way to go ?
Artifact just has too many things that bother me to pay money upfront to try it out. Like i said, i'd try it out, like i basically try out every new TGC/CCG, but the whole thing just is a huge turnoff.
Only thing that HS needs is a new game mode. I seriously doubt that a game that reached 100million players (i know that such number is twisted because its a f2p game) and around 5 million probably play it could suffer from the fracture of its game modes. New tournament new modes like magic pauper a modern mode or a strictly old cards mode etc. They don't want u to wait for a long time for a match hence dont want more modes
Personally i wouldnt mind waiting more 30 secs then now to find a new game. Usually in wild or standard i never have to wait longer than 10-15secs.
I saw some streamers play artifact and it seems a little dumb as a game.20$ is not much but i dont see it be popular after like 2-3 months...
Dumb in what way? I never heard ppl saying that about the game on the contrary actually. They say that one of the major downfalls is its way too complex
Why are we talking about Artifact on a Hearthstone forum? Go to a artifact forum.
Why are you commenting in a subforum called "other games" (which is by definition not about hearthstone) if you are not interested in other games? Go to the hearthstone threads.

Sometimes being too complex makes you dumb! It's like chess. It's too complex. You can play 2-3 game a day and that's it. You must be so dedicated to the game to keep playing it. That's why i think that after 2-3 months with the new hs expansion new mtga's updates they will quit it.
So complexity challenging you to actually think makes you dumb? You sound like you've been exposed to complexity too much.

I still remember that week when Gwent had more views than Hearthstone. “It’s the end of HS”, they said. “Streamers are moving to Gwent”, they said.

I am curious if one can play Artifact for less than 2 hours and then get a refund. Usually you can do that with Steam games.
yes
you can refund only BEFORE packs opening
So, on Twitch... Right now
Hearthstone: 33 500 viewers
Artifact: 14 200 viewers
Heh. I expected that kind of ratio in few weeks. Artifact is going down way faster than I expected.

Dead but dreaming
Here is some good news for those who want to test the game out and also get a refund if you don't like it.

Pretty interesting game. Hope it'll succeed, so team 5 finally starts doing something hearthstone.
