I do physically exhausting work during the week and come home to spend multiple hours gaming each night. The SO streams and plays games herself so there's an understanding and no nagging involved. Mutual interests are important; it took some time before i realized i was wasting my time with anyone who did not share this interest. We'll play things together as well from time to time. My daughter lives with her mother currently and my step-daughter is 14 so i have some more time than i did in the past.
I hate consoles and usually only play multiplayer pc games these days. Right now that mainly consists of Overwatch and PUBG. I find it interesting that this thread exists, but you read or watch movies/netflix on a sunday. That's gaming time right there in my opinion. If you have free time and don't use it for gaming then you can't really say you don't have time to play other games. You just choose not to.
Try to sleep less - this is where most people waste a lot of time. 6 hours is likely enough. Do you cook fancy food? Do you go places to shop? It all adds up.

wow, this is reassuring, as the guy who's always felt bad for never getting a girlfriend after countless amounts of money and hours were spent trying , reading this thread actually makes me wonder if i actually ever want a life like that with barely any time for myself. particularly where i live, where we have to clock in a mimimum of 48 hours of work a week. (no one ever hires you for the minimum tho and the average job, and the one i currently have actually hires you for 52)
Have a husband who games too. When we first me 11 1/2 years ago, I got him to play WoW and he got me to play City of Heroes. It’s best this way because there’s no argument about gaming and we both usually either plays a MMO together or do board games like Eldritch Horror.
Skip the partner stuff, if the society keeps evolving where everyone should have access to everything fast as hell such as food, interwebs and transportation ect it's only a matter of time before prostitution gets legalized as well in every modern countries. Partners takes a lots of time, far more than they are worth.
Speak for yourself. If your emotional needs are filled without a partner, great, but for most people, a partner is incredibly beneficial to their mental health. When I was single for 6 years, I became numb to my emotions, I felt Hollow and tried to fill the void with video games and books. Since getting together with my girlfriend last year, everything in my life is going better.
Tl:dr partners are very important for some people, and prostitution couldn't replace it
At work occasionally but mainly after the wife and little one go to bed at 9. I don't require much sleep so I stay up till about 1AM playing or watching YouTube videos or Streams depending on my mood. I then go to bed, get up at 7:30, go to work, rinse repeat. The cycle of life for me.
I could manage to play a little at lunch, and I think all agree that maybe sleeping less, I used to do it in college, maybe playing at night would be good.
I usually get in a game or two after I drop my son off at school and before I have to go to work since I have some time to kill in the morning, and I'll get a game in during my lunch hour if I'm lucky.
Mate, 4 hours to go to the gym and go home is too long.
Seems to me like the traffic is eating away at your "you time", can't really do much about that, maybe move, more expensive flat, less gas idk.
I really like when I live and don't mind the traffic, it's not that bad, maybe its 3 hours including gym and shower and traffic from work to gym to home.
I work 5 days a week, Saturday - Wednesday , and I'm off Thursday's and Fridays. Me and my Significant other have 2 kids, a daughter who is almost 4 and a son who's almost 1. We recently bought a house which comes with yard work, and the various other house chores. When do I make time to play? Whenever she's at work and the kids are in bed, during breakfast time while everyone's eating , or at work . Used to get a lot of matches done while at work but ever since we got bought out our workload has increased and downtime has decreased. While no one probably cares about everyone's IRL bs, it has actually been a question on my mind how other parents find time to enjoy the things they used to. Before we had kids I'd switch off between WoW and Star Wars the Old Republic, Diablo , ect.. now hearthstone scratches that itch I had during my glory days of raiding or playing MTG. Glad to see I'm not alone in the boat.
I'm not even in the kids department yet, we're gonna wait at least 2 years... well that's the plan, then is oficially game over for me I think, until I start playing with my kids lol.

You do sacrifice money and time to be in a relationship, but it's worth it. I was the happyest person in my life with all the free time of a single person and all the money of not having to spend on a big house and pay more than your part on food and services, but its really worth it, I wasn't really playing all that much as a single, it was all work - party - home. now its work - home, no party but I don't miss it.
My kid is away at university and I work from home, so I have the ideal situation. I sometimes play when I travel to client sites (in the airport, on the train, etc.) and in the evenings. I play in the morning while I eat something before my run (typically a couple of games) and sometimes in the evenings if we're just hanging out. I play enough to finish my dailies, but that's about it. I've never made Legend and I don't have any gold avatars. I've been playing since initial release and I've never gotten lower than Rank 5 (I typically hang out around Rank 15).
As an aside (but related): While I enjoy building my own decks, I haven't had time to do something like that and stay competitive for quite a while (being responsible sucks, doesn't it). I don't play Raza Priest or Cubelock, but I've built both and played them a few times so I can understand how to play against them. I do like trying the decks others build and post on HearthPwn, and at present I'm playing Big Spell Mage as it is not as popular and I enjoy the play style. For those people wondering why there are so many people that Net Deck, maybe part of it is because many of us have limited time and want to spend it playing and not fussing with deck composition. ;)
Or I surf the internet, on hearthpwn, and read how some kids or students tell me that reaching legend has nothing to do with time, only skill... then I laugh (knowing there’s no chance getting beyond rank 5) and go to bed..

It's not that bad. A wife and kids take time, especially when the kids are young, but they are worth it. You just have to pick your priorities. A good relationship involves both parties recognizing the other person needs "me time" on occasion and doing what can be done to accommodate. Just don't plan on having as much of it as you do when you are young and single.
Wife and toddler, full-time student, work 20+ hours/wk (to get tuition reimbursement). I play three HS matches on work days, and five on days off (or another one or two if all my quest slots are filled). I love the ideal of creating decks, but I'LL never win doing that, so I use HSReplay.net and try to find at least one deck for each legendary I own. Somehow, I can't find a playable Millhouse Manastorm or Moorabi deck yet. X`D Anyways this is the perfect balance for me.
I play Hearthstone during my breaks and lunch at work which I am at for the most part 6:30am to 3:45 pm. I get home around 4:30 or so and then after some down time I may play an hour or two of Hearthstone or another game before I'm off to bed by 11:00.
Other games? HA I lost interest in most other games, and not becauuse they are not good. It is because in the back of my head I know that I just really do not have the time to sit and play for 4 hours straight. If the wifey goes away for a few days, then I used to buy/rent a game for my Xbox, but I would always lose interest or play it so obsessively since I knew that it was only a short window.
Used to love games like WOW, Fable, Halo, Bioshock, Fallout, and Skyrim, but I just don't have that kinda time anymore. And when I "make time" i really fail at being an adult.

work wife & a lovely kid ... play only HS after my kid & wife sleep... this how it works less sleeping time for more games.

Easy solution: play Hearthstone on your phone while sitting in traffic for hours.

I do quest + 2-3 games when kid goes to sleep around 9pm.
Where shall I start...
Do not work, do not have kids, find a wife who loves videogames, GG WP.
Life is OP.
