good players will suffer, couse mostly good players played patron warrior
dumbing game down, still happening. will see more braindead cancer on ladder
If the " good players" played this deck and dominated with it, this update wont change anything, it just changes that patrons doesnt have a instant charge which is OP. It just balanced it so that u cant be dead in god damn one turn
It didn't balance the deck, it killed it. You might see people experiment with some variants using Raging Worgen and Charge, but those have always been around and were never that effective.
The issue is that the combo in hand didn't require the opponent to have less than 30 hp. The amount of HP you needed to avoid the combo was 90. Patron Warrior could OTK control warriors that had over 70 armor easily because the control warrior played minions. It was too consistent and too powerful, because Patron had no bad match ups. It punishes you for playing minions either by giving them an entire board for free, or by creating OTK frothings that can do 80+ damage.
whats so important about more then 30 dmg? only warrs could get over 30 anyway. and you still can do full health otk with 1 minion on board with druid combo which is 10x easier to set up
Don't get me wrong, the fact that her stats/cost remain the same is horrible, but at least she has limited potential. Her new effect reminds me of Fist of Jaraxxus. They are both cards with an interesting concept, but not enough tools exist to make them work. If they give Warrior a bunch of new charge centric tools in future expansions/adventures then maybe she can be useful. The treatment she got might suck now but its not NEARLY as bad as what they did to Buzzard. Blizzard did more than clip his wings, they cut them clean off.
In regards to the other nerfs people have suggested like making it so frothing and inner rage patrons can't attack past 3 attack, that does remove the OTK problem, but merely lessening the burst or allowing counterplay will neuter the deck just as much as this nerf will. You have to use several cards to get the combo off and if the enemy has a turn to respond with AoE or just trading, then the cards were wasted pointlessly. It would be a worse Force of Nature/Savage Roar.
Blizzard decided rather than make the deck nearly unplayable, they would rather just put the deck down and end its suffering. Does it suck that they killed off an entire deck archetype and will inevitably cause the rise of Secret Pally? Yes. But I think the nerf makes sense because they said they don't like people taking large amounts of damage from an empty board.
I think people are over-exaggerating how bad the nerf really is. This change ultimately makes the game healthier (at least competitively) and if they just tweak her stats just a bit, she has the potential with future cards to possibly make a new archetype.

how do you catagorized good and bad player? by the class they playing?
patron warrior is quite easy to play, quite high winning ratio, similar to pervedin. no need for godly skills, so it doesn't make the ones playing it become good players. and the ones playing other classes are not bad players...
vice versa, good players don't necessarily play patron warriors. i've played against many good players playing other classes. stupid generalization
Fist of Jaraxxus is only unplayable trash because not enough cards exist to make a discard warlock viable. Maybe if you read my full post instead of instantly going NOPE after reading one sentence, you would understand.
They did not nerf the card because just because of how powerfull it was, they did it because the card was hindering the design of future cards, they had to design Warrior and neutral cards around Warsong to prevent broken combos, now they dont have to worry about it anymore.
and finally it might be interesting to watch hearthstone tournaments again, no more Patron/PatronCounter/PatronCounter , it will shift to Druid/DruidCounter/DruidCounter, maybe they nerf Fon and Savage Roar next? i think its very unlikely but its possible, right now those 2 cards are pretty much the only win condition druids have regardless of the deck, the only way to open the way for new archtypes is to nerf those 2 spells and introduce new cards at the same time.
tldr expect a lot of tempo mages on the upcoming Blizzcon
the point here is that if aggro decks dominate the gameplay because they are always more efficient compared to other playstyles, then something is seriously broken. The same applies for the control, dragon, etc decks, if they become too powerful, likewise they need to be nerfed adequaetly so that the game can become balanced again.
The problem is the Charge mechanic, the mechanic is too cheap, a charge minion is almost always better then a spell, Taunt is too expensive and too easy to play around, aside from Taunt we have no way of preventing face damage.
Healing is in most cases not efficient enough since you dont put anything of value on the board.
Charge on the current meta is just too strong, thats why i always like any nerfs related to charge, including this one.
And GP was not the only thing stoping aggro, there are many decks on the current meta that deal with aggro just fine
I hope that Warsong Commanders current ability will be readded to the game, but as a legendary. This way Patron Warrior becomes playable again, but only allowing one charge giver, so you have to use it wisely.
Came here for the butthurt patron players, was not disappointed :)
Welcome to Nerfland bitches, population YOU!
Look at your *cough* title *cough*.......
Yes, changed in honor of our fallen comrades :)
TBF, I do respect Patron players because it did require quite a lot of play to get good with the deck. But it was fairly obviously overpowered and headed for nerfville.
I liked Patron Warrior. Sure the deck was very strong and sometimes frustrating to play against, but it was even fun to watch and it took a while to set it up so you can set up your one strategy.
The nerf to Warsong wasn't what Hearthstone needed in my opinion. Thaurissan was what made the deck gone in the mode of OP OTK Miracle.
Thaurissan by himself isn't that bad though... he makes control more viable and is a big threat that needs to be answered _while not changing the board state at all the turn he is played_. The problem is Charge is such a powerful mechanic and the broken state of the Warsong Commanders' power.
Also, as a Legendary, Thaurissan can only be a 1-of in decks, so his impact is not as great.
If you have a shit hand Warsong Commander is shit. Warsong alone doesn't win games, you have to draw correctly and play correctly to win.
Warsong is a common class card not generating money for blizz so nerfing it will cause people to buy more packs to build more decks around different strategies. It's blizzard just getting a payday by nerfing this single card.
agreed, combo druid needs a nerf. 14+ damage is too much.
Onto the next holy crusade are we? Since blizzard is retarded and listens to garbage players I guess anything is possible. Just ask and you shall receive. A can of worms has been opened.

NB: grim patron warrior was cancerous...
Nah if you are still good player as you say it still works out, if it would be alive it would be too OP so rather be dead

Wow. Warrior gets so much better in arena now.

People be like "All you have to do is learn to play around GP!"
And then, they like "GP only thing stopping aggro!, aggro=king now!"
lol...

Yay! I don't need to be afraid of playing my minions angainst warrior anymore!!!!!

Ibn Fahd.
might as well nerf
Face Hunter, Secret Paladin, Handlock, Dragon Priest, Tempo Mage, Combo Druid, etc...
force everyone to play new decks

... Face Hunter on the other hand ...
The nerf to Warsong wasn't what Hearthstone needed in my opinion. Thaurissan was what made the deck gone in the mode of OP OTK Miracle.
Used to be a proud Handlock player.
Legend 17 times.
Still flirting with the ladder from times to times with Renolock.
Thaurissan costs $$$$$$ blizz will not nerf that.
People wouldn't buy BRM if Thaurissan was given the blizzard nerf treatment.
