i dont think this is troll, but your probaly shouldnt text this here in the childen community(look above me) @donkey...
you should srsly stop this shit, i mean really ? a taxi just to play hs ? it sounds bad but pls get some help. play some football or some shit.
if you feel bored, watch some movies. im watching anime, couse hearthstone is so frustating sometimes, you just need another hooby or game.
Play diablo 3 or something else, just find something...
It's not troll. If you read some of the responses in this thread, you'll see that this is actually a pretty common problem (with both Hearthstone and video games in general) and a lot of people here have been very supportive.
dont be a quitter. you have to finish what you started or its failure will permeate into other life experiences. be a winner and achieve what you set out to do. maybe you need to quit your job because its holding back your potential to be great at something you love. No regrets.
Either ruin your card collection or change battle.net email to random one, generate 16symbols random password for that email and for the account and delete it, don't remember it to enforce cold turkey on yourself.
Other option is to get someone to help you get legend, while having fun on skype. Playing with someone makes you tilt much less. And maybe achieving it will make you want to play less and normalize stuff.

Haha i love it. I was in a dark mood when I left the original post, so I probably was being a bit over-dramatic. I would love to quit my job, but I don't think I could make enough money to live playing hearthstone. :-)
Or YOU could just learn that not everyone thinks/feels/acts the same way as you do.... "Just sayin"

I've been addicted to games plenty so I know EXACTLY how it feels...I used to grind wc3 ladder top 100 all night even though I had school the next morning. The reality is that you need to learn to control your impulses in anything or you will just not be able to function as a normal human being. The fact he can come here and post for "help" when it's pretty obvious he knows exactly what the issue for is more a cry for help suicide than slicing down the veins so their's no coming back. So "just sayin", either put your money where your mouth is or go to a shrink for help.
Hearthstone addiction is about as real as marijuana addiction, it's just behaviorial compulsion that's easy as **** to change IF YOU ACTUALLY WANT TO CHANGE IT.

LOL. I knew when I wrote the post that there were bound to be a few asshole responses. What's impressive though is that the vast vast majority have been thoughtful and helpful.
Assholes are generally in the minority. Which is nice.
Closest thing I had to your case was playing dota for 4-5 hours a day. Was able to get out of it because my computer broke and I took up a new hobby (gym).
Not sure if going to the gym will help but it is a fundamental change in lifestyle which can carry over, try it!

It's funny cause you call me an asshole for telling the truth. There is nothing physically wrong with you except that you have developed a compulsive, all consuming habit to play HS. And really your the only one who can change that...
So like I said, grow a pair, get off the ****ing hearthstone internet site and get yourself some real ****ing help rather than crying to a bunch of hearthstone addicts about your Hearthstone addiction. Seems pretty black and white IMO..
Sorry but I'm not the kind of guy to sugarcoat when it's much better for the person in the long run to say it straight. My cousin is just like you and spends 1000$ on games compulsively, for years we baby him to stop but nothing changes.
First thing you have to do is flatout delete the game.
Something that personally helped me "ease out" was to get a lumosity, or switch to puzzle games. It kept my brain working in a familiar way and was a much safer habit. Then I moved on to chess, and Duolingo.
Gaming addiction can be a horrible thing, but the one advantage is that the addiction can actually be reallocated, many times to activities that improve yourself as a person. Cold turkey will just leave you miserable, but if you don't delete the game you'll go crazy.
The most important part was to realize that you DO have a problem and you actually WANT to change that. Just keep reminding yourself of this sentence until you're "clean", and you will get rid of it.
There are 2 solutions I can see.
1) Disenchant everthing or make your account completely unaccessible to you. Random password, random email. This way there is no way back and you will not try to start all over with just the cards. It would feel stupid, as you think of your previous account and what a waste of time it would be to start again, and it will remind you WHY you did this. I don't like the idea of asking a friend to change it, because if you really feel the urge to fall back to the addiction, you'll get him to give it back.
2) Set yourself a limit you STRICTLY cannot exceed. I would suggest you to allow yourself to do the daily quests, and nothing more. Not a single game! You NEED to stick to it, no matter what. Also, only on your computer and in your free time. Very important: Uninstall Hearthstone from all devices but your computer, so you don't get tempted to play on your phone in bed, at work, anywhere else. If you keep this up long enough, you could play normally later on at some point, but really: this takes a long time. So don't expect to do this for a few weeks and it's all good, keep it up as long as you are absolutely comfortable with not playing any time. This will take several months. If the thought of playing just so few games each day for such a long time makes you feel uncomfortable, the harder, but faster way (1) probably is the better idea.

Listen man -- it's not the CONTENT of what you are saying that is the problem. It is the WAY you are saying it. Your TONE. Your MANNER . You just come across as a jerk, plain and simple. No one is asking you to sugarcoat anything ... but when you roll up in here with a "why don't you learn basic self-control like everyone else, it's a fucking game" -- you present yourself as a DICK. You basically have no bedside manner. Whereas I have a problem that I can fix myself (as you are so eloquently saying), you have a character flaw that cannot ever be fixed. You will be an asshole/dick for the rest of your life. That type of thing has no cure.
For the record -- I'm not "crying" to anyone and I'm certainly not spending 1000$ on anything. I have no clue where you're getting that idea. My post was merely an outlet for me to vent a little bit. I have the right to do that if I want.
I hate ignorant people who try to talk on behalf of others and telling people things like "Toughen up buttercup" or "Grow a pair" like what the hell? You recognized you have a problem, you understand that, you're just asking for possible suggestions to help you out. Then we got good ol' captain hindsight coming in "You have a problem, deal with it." instead of contributing anything worthwhile to the discussion.

Precisely -- I thought the post would kind of foster a brainstorming type of discussion and get others to share their own stories. And there have been some awesome responses to that end. Just in the last few minutes some more people have chimed in with insightful comments (Aeris and YourDailyDevil)
I'm not an expert, so take everything with a grain of salt. But number 2 actually was what I did when I played a lot - not addicted, but still a lot - and the exams came closer. But yeah, might be totally different for a real addiction. I agree that 1 is the best option, but if that feels to difficult, number 2 to reduce the daily dose is better than nothing.
I also believe that playing a lot leads to the urge to play a lot more and vice versa, so if you play just the dailies for some days, you'll get used to playing less. Guess that depends on how severe the addiction is aswell.
LOL

Had this problem with Civ 5.

^would NOT recommend number 2. 1 sounds alright, but your second option is entirely "just one more cigarette".
