This happened a few mins ago, so the salt is very fresh on this one.....
Ladder match, and mage vs mage. Game has been going a while, we're down to 6-7 cards each. He's got an Antique Healbot while I had a Piloted Shredder, a Chugga and Antonidas. I figure I had it won since I had a couple of spare parts plus he couldn't kill Tony because he already used his poly earlier as well as his fireballs. So he takes out my Shredder.....and a Doomsayer pops out. So yeah. He won the match as he had a couple of cards that were actual minions while mine were just spare parts.
What made me angry ( albeit only for a brief moment) was that I had gone from Rank 17-13 ( 4 stars) with a nice win streak ( playing as control war and mech mage) and had said " ok one more game to rank up then we'll call it a night and actually do some work"....ah this game sometimes haha.
It wasn't all bad though, the guy I was playing against friended me so he could say that was bullshit rng, and he got extremely lucky. We both had a laugh out of it so all's well that ends well.
Got hit in the face when I was at 6hp, had lethal on the board, 7 minions out and didnt have my bgh in hand with 5 cards left in my deck. I swear to god, sometimes I hate this game.
Got to rank 10 yesterday, I have fallen all the way back to rank 17, I have lost over and over to Mages with their 5dmg freeze spells and the spamming of fireballs, and the amount of druids ive played who just use force of nature with savage roar, the only ive been beaten is by a druid that does that no other way from about 10 games, this game is officially fucked.
Handlock warlock, I can't even play Jarraxus because i would easily die from 5 spellls, that can accumulate to about 20dmg in one turn... and force of nature with savage roar is out of hand, the only way i lose to a druid is by that bullshit.

Just got 0-3'ed in arena...all Shaman...I had to keep count after the first one pulled 5 Taunt Totems in a row in game 1. Apparently its a thing, since I got hit with 17 in a row over all three games. never saw any other totem.
Just to name a few ways to deal with spells and burst damage. I found running Troggzor/Loatheb, 1-2 Healbots and a standard array of Taunters is usually more than enough to slow any fast aggro burst down enough to stabilize.
It can be frustrating at times, but it doesn't really happen to me that very often. I really like running Loatheb, and Troggzor at the same time, they both have great value, and it's nice locking spells out for 2-3 turns mid-late game.

You have to learn to pick up early on what type of deck you are playing. Then change your game plan accordingly. Any deck can, in theory, beat any other deck if you play smart.
I'm kinda getting tired of mages. No, not the "I get to play against nothing but mech-mage" thing. I'm astonished in some games to burst mages can throw at you. I give you the extreme example - that's unfortunately not that extreme:
I played against a minimal-minion mage with a priest and lost. The major points of the game: he plays Alexstrasza, I stabilize with heals and healbot. He plays Antonidas and stocks up on Fireballs. I play a bunch of taunts which amount to nothing since he's playing no minions. He throws at least four Fireballs in my face, also two(!) Pyroblasts. Who the heck even runs two of those? But hey, I still survive somehow. Finally I fall due to Frostbolt followed by double Ice Lance. Imagine that amount of direct damage I survived! 15 points from the Life Binder (came at full HP), 20 points from Pyros, 12 points from Fireballs, 11 points from frosties, not counting the bits of damage from the few early minions he actually played. For those curious, I play 9/4 priest for fun - priest supposed to be strong against mage, especially one that builds mostly on direct damage spells.
There are threads about the game being a bit bursty, now and then, but seriously. When even a priest feels vulnerable at any HP below 25 then there might be something to it. I mean, you start with 30 HP and below 25 you can be bursted down in a round or two! But even when not, a setup with Alexstrasza puts you at 15 HP and any class can hit you with a 15 damage burst. Alex also shows the issue with falling low, like, you can clear the board or you can heal. If you heal, the board will grab you back down, but if you clear board your HP is low and you await that burst that will finish you. Taunts won't help, heals won't help, clearing the board won't help. The only thing that helps is praying that your opponent maybe won't have those exact cards.
subtleRage= "off" Anyways, I'm playing a deck that is weak in the meta, I'm playing it for fun, not for wins, so I kinda accepted that I will lose at least as much as I win, maybe even more.

I give up on this game. I feel bad for saying this but until Blizzard sort this shit out, I'm going to have to join the fray because it's obvious that other decks just can't compete. You either play bullshit or you attempt to build an anti bullshit deck.
I switched rag for gazlowe in my control warrior. Lol. Never drew him in 8 games. GAZLOWE WHY. Gazlowe is the slowest guy in the universe lol. He's really quite terrible unless you're playing the slowest grindiest topdeck war of all time against like... a priest or another control warrior who got way unluckier than you. He's like a really bad but funny Neptulon.
Also lost an 80% brawl to kill Antonidas. 40% I won the game on the spot, 40% I was fine and 20% I lose. Yay!
e game being a bit bursty, now and then, but seriously. When even a priest feels vulnerable at any HP below 25 then there might be something to it.
Yeah it gets pretty annoying. Almost every deck has a magic number from which they can burst you down. The face damage spells in this game are way too efficient compared to how much mana they cost and how flexible they are. I would be fine with fireball and kill command only targeting minions. They just cost way too little for the reach and flexibility they offer IMO.
Force + savage is a tricky thing. Maybe raise savage roar to 4? I dunno. Grommash is also kind of a problem in that he's almost a strictly better pyroblast. Definitely way up there in power level.
At least they had sense enough to nerf leeroy, the burst king, and to make sludge belcher.

This was the icing on the cake after a day of Huntards and cancer decks. fml

What deck are you playing? Games aren't "fucked" when they have solid metas...
Perhaps my friend Loatheb could be of some service.

Random my ass
Loatheb, Troggzor the Earthinator, Burly Rockjaw Trogg, Trade Prince Gallywix, Lorewalker Cho, Antique Healbot, Earthen Ring Farseer, Alexstrasza...

We can't all be winners. Sometimes, someone has to be at the bottom of the barrell. The game is not "fucked" just because you can't win.
Sorry.

I can't find it in my heart to feel sorry for a Handlock who lost a few games.
Fall 7 ranks and still cant play around the same plays? Might be you...
