We have AI mode, ladder mode, casual mode and arena. How about a DeckTech mode where each month you could play a special limited style deck. Maybe a card back for 100 wins during a month.
Example: In DeckTech your deck can only consist of cards with even number costs. That could be the plan for the week, month, or however they want to break it up. It would force people to maybe make some decks with new ideas. I know casual mode is for this, but then you end up playing uber decks. This way everyone is on a more even playing field. I guess "limited" may be the right word. Doesn't have to be a card back reward, but maybe a week long quest with 100 gold reward for 25 wins in "limited" play. They could rotate a lot of different restrictions on the decks. I think it would give a lot of play to cards that don't usually get played.

There are 3 kinds of people in the world. Those that can count and those that can't.
They've kinda started a cycle of releasing a small adventure with a bunch of cards followed by a big expansion and i don't really see a reason to break with this.
It's a nice way to keep some form of content coming in relatively small periods of time keeping to change up the meta every few months while keeping the players entertained.
except didnt blizz acknowledge that the wait tim between nax and GvG left players feeling the game got stale? 1 expansion every 6 months or whatever the heck it is isnt going to keep players in the long run.
I think it's almost guaranteed that we will see a new adventure.
I'd like to see them add deck slots, not that I need them myself at the moment, but with more cards comes more options.
Another thing I would love to see is achievement tracking. And maybe adding a few achievements to the game for crazy circumstances like "Deal 20+ damage to the enemy champion in one turn" or "Heal for 20+ health in one game" or some long-term ones like "Craft 50 cards".
Some kind of tournament Mode would be nice, but i'm not expecting it.
I read a Hearthstone QA Developer Interview awhile back that stated this:
More deckslots are NOT in the works.
More Heroes are NOT in the works.
Alternate Heroes are POSSIBLE.
2v2/3v3 (Team Games) are NOT in the works. (Due to complexity these may never happen)
Different Hero Powers are NOT in the works.
Hearthstone will NOT be coming to consoles.
They are interested in Achievements but are currently NOT able to implement them.
I really wish I could find the link I was looking at so I could link you guys to it.. :(
I've read most of this too, but I'm pretty sure that more deckslots weren't quite ruled out.
Yeah, it sounded like they were reconsidering the deckslots in a December interview, so fingers crossed.
And I'm expecting another adventure in a May timeframe, hopefully coupled with a new game mode of some sort and some new quests/achievements. And I'd really like modes or quests that force all cards to be used. Even in arena mode, most people know to avoid certain cards, so I'd like a mode that gives people decks that are randomly created from their entire card collection, or something like that. Of course, there'd be a big advantage in that mode for people who dust crappy cards.
More deck slots means more room for creativity. Most long term hearthstone players I'm sure have experimented with a few crazy combo decks and are forced to delete them to make room for the more effective lame laddering decks they have to fall back to. Ie. always having to delete my fun pirate warrior deck to make room for the 'tried and true' vanilla control when it's time to rank up. Creativity is something devs should cater to. Hopefully they see this thread... I can't see there being roadblocks to implement such a simple thing either. I'm sure just 'adding' slots means some of the existing code written can be copy and pasted pretty much.
I think they've mentioned (or at least implied) that they plan to stick to the adventure-expansion repeated sequence. If this is the case, I'm sure the next adventure will be announced in May, then implemented in early July. The reason I say July is because, well, I don't want to wait as long as we did for Naxx haha. Ideally, they would release the adventure halfway through the year (or throughout June) and release the expansion at the end of the year (in December).
Basically, I don't think we can expect anything too exciting in the near future. I'm betting that Blizzcon 2015 they might announce that a new hero is in the works, and, knowing Blizzard, they will announce a potential release date that they can't possibly honor lol.

I could see additional deck slots being something their going to add to the store for gold one day... that would be typical since they can just justify it with 'well it's not p2w' sorry for the negativity
the best thing they can do is introduce a new class hero, they need to refresh that aspect of the game,we only see hunters and warriors these days, rogue has died, and we only see the same lame ass decks again and again and again, introducing new hero new cads to go along will bring life to the game atm hearthstone is just boring
If you think we're only seeing a couple of classes (which I don't think is even remotely true), then adding a new class is a horrible way to attack that problem.
Only a couple of classes being played would means that the classes were horribly unbalanced, and adding a new class would only make it harder to balance.
Either the new class would be overpowered - and then everyone would only be playing it - or it would be underpowered, and sink without trace.
One problem with releasing a new class is that to do so would require at least 34 new cards just for one class. If they want to develop the other classes more, then we might having to give this new class over 40 cards in one go. As a result, it might be cool to introduce a new class as part of an adventure. Each stage of the adventure could develop the class a bit more and for each stage one neutral card could be added, and each boss adds new class cards for this new class.
It would still be a really huge expansion, maybe too big for an adventure.
Tournament mode or some other play mode is the most important imo, you can see it from the frustration on the forums and the comments from the pros, the ladder is just deeply unoriginal and unfun, every deck you see is the exact same as you've seen for months on end and there is almost no experimentation.
Some kind of mode that levels the playing field an encourages more innovation is basically essential to prevent the game from contracting and developing a lot of ill will.
Not so sure, would lead to really unfair decks... it would lead to see control warriors running flamestrikes, blizzards or hellfires in order to counter their lack of AoE removal, and Gahz-rilla with Charge and Inner Rage as a finisher. There is a reason class cards being only for a single class. Unless the drafts were random like in arena, then would be an interesting idea.
The next may be an adventure with an iconic and big place as background... more slots will probably be a thing, like alternative heroes. If there is by chance another class, then it would be Mograine or Chen.
I think a bunch of new achievements with unique rewards would be huge for the game too after seeing all the suggests. Brings a whole new interest and focus for people.

Create more quests which forces players to use more cards.
Above all else announce the next expansion/adventure in a month or two

Adventures and some new cards are about all I see happening. I don't think that's a bad thing either.

Custom matches, Rift mod etc.
Can you imagine that you are using Flamestrike with Warrior? Would be fun.
But not gonna happen, cause Money>Fun for Blizzard.
