Hi guys, I wanna play againg and i've seen there are so many things I don't know right now. My last expansion was Whispers of the old gods or goblins vs gnomes (can't remember) and I'd like to know wich cards i have to craft or buy and where I can see something that explains me fast what happened these years. Thank you all!!! :D
The meta is currently unstable so it's not clear what you should craft.
It will be safe to start with a cheap aggressive deck, like Stealth+Weapon rogue. (You can find a list easily).
There are two new game modes you can check up. Battlegrounds, that is an autochess style mode, with little likeness to regular Hearthstone and Duels, that is half constructed and half drafting with powerful hero powers and special drafted cards.
As you have some wild collection I would advise crafting a cheap and effective wild deck like discardlock. Use this to gather the monthly ranked rewards (they have improved a lot since you left).
As for packs, I would buy Scholomance Academy and Ashes of Outland. You will be getting plenty of Darkmoon Faire packs from other sources, and this expansion is just average while the other 2 have a really high power level.
We now have duplicate protection, which means you wont get more than 2 copies of a certain card untill you have all cards of that rarity. You should buy around 10 to 20 packs from each expansion. This way you get most of the important commons and rares. I would begin with the most recent expansions as they have the highest power level.
If you want to come back i sugget you to buy a new account on site like g2g as its way cheaper then buy again tons of packs. around 200/300 buck and you should be fine..... I actually was tryng to sell my account too on there for like 500 and i got 220 legendaries.
Anyway if you want to have a more casual approach go on standard mode and invest a little and play maybe something like face hunter that is so cheap and you ll be able even to hit legend with it!
They added a new mode called battleground that is completely free and less hardcore then normal mode.. you just need a GOOD connection and a mouse. Check it on youtube!
I highly suggest to Invest in demon hunter. its the way to go for new/return players since it has a strong classic (free) set. its always good in the meta and has variety of play style, Blizzard supports demon hunter to assure new players can be competitive.
Blizzard sold their game to chinese. They scrapped the hell out of it, fired good devs and made the development of the game cheap and bad. China is very known for doing that with intelectual property around the world - they copy and scrap everything they can to spend less and earn more money. So, that actual state of the game is really trash, very bad communication, very bad devs, very bad strategies and more waste of money due all nerfs they are doing and the duplicate system. But, duplicate system made the game easier to complete collection and some cards are actually good but still, the state of the game is bad and boring. They HOF'ed really great cards that made the players come to this game in first place due bad development and lack of good devs to think in better solutions to cards like Leeroy, Nozdormu and now, the oldest love of players, Edwin Van Cleef. if I was you, don't spend money in bundles or shit, if u want some lvl fast buy the battle pass, achieve the levels and be happy, or just do it for free anyway and see how it goes. There are nice cheap mechanical decks to play like DH decks that can be good to a newcomer or a someone like you. Good luck, don't be tricked by the Blizz and China Knights.
Card Keywords: There are a lot you'll need to know. Here is a link to Hearthstone wiki for card keywords: Card Keywords from Gamepedia
Game Modes:
Arena: Even though I have played since beta, I'm pretty sure they already have Arena back then during Goblins and Gnomes. Arena is basically a challenge of getting up to 12 game wins against other players 1 v 1. Your deck during this mode is comprised of 30 discovered cards you choose.
Battlegrounds (Released in late 2019): This mode is some people say is similar to auto-chess. If your too far behind in cards and are really at a disadvantage in card collection you can probably play this or play 'duels'.
Duels (Released around November 2020): This is similar to arena but you start with a few cards and your deck builds as you play, but yes you only have 3 chances. There is causal dueling where you don't win anything you just get a ranking or rating. Then there is heroic which is similar to arena where you have to pay to get in.
Daily Quests:
I know back then we used to get like 30, 35, 45 gold quests. That changed to 50 gold per quest a while ago.
Then fall of 2019 they changed the whole quest system. Dailies are well dailies but don't exactly get you 50 gold maybe a bit short, you'll figure it out soon. There are also quest called weekly quests. You get 3 weekly quests every Monday. These are what make up for the missing gold to the 50 gold daily quest we previously had.
Ranking system:
They used to have ranking from 20-1 to legendary. Then they used a locking system every five levels. So if you start from rank 20 and reach up to 15 and lose a game, you won't fall back to rank 16.
Then they changed again decided to go with the element system (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond) - Legend. Each system though still has 10 rankings and yes each 5 levels you move up you won't move back after you've accomplished that certain level factor of 5. Once you get to legend you can't fall back to Diamond. Once you've accomplished Gold-Rank10, you can't fall back to Silver-Rank1.
Others:
Duplicate: It is said that now you won't get duplicates of legendaries, common, or rare cards, until you have 1 of each legendary or 2 of each common, rare, or epic card of each set. Not sure if this is the same for epic cards. Therefore 60 packs of 1 set is probably more than enough to get you all the common and rare cards of that set.
I know you have a lot you don't know so I hope Hearthstone Gamepedia can help you understand what's going on.
Also forgot. You should try out HS Replay, download their Deck Tracker. What is it? It's an In-Game overlay app. It helps you list your deck and list what cards your opponents have played. This website records and tells what are some of the best win rated decks.
Pros:
It can keep a list of the decks you've build even though you've deleted them from Hearthstone.
Records your win/lose ratio of each deck.
Keeps track of your collection. Shows you which decks you can build based on your collection.
You can watch replays. What's better? You lost to a guy and want to know what their deck is like? You can look through your replay on HSreplay.net and copy his deck.
Sometimes you forget if you've already used a card during a match and this can help you know whether you have already used it or not.

Go back to the salt thread where you belong and let people enjoy their game.

Additionally to the other advice you've received in this thread, it is worth noting that we are on the cusp of a new rotation year, so it is certainly not worth crafting anything from the 2019 expansions.
Since there is also talk about something big and exciting happening with regards to classic and basic sets, it might be worth avoiding crafting them yet either until we know what the changes are.

Don't be ridiculous, no such thing happened. All businesses need to have a chinese owned partner to sell in China, but they did not sell anything to china. Activision is not Chinese owned. It is an American company. Things did change though in the sense that Blizzard is now "Blizzard Activision"

First of all, try to collect 2K gold to get 66 cards of the mid-season.

BTW, the cheapest and among most agrresive decks is the wild secret mage.
I hit diamond-10 with it with no legendary but 4 epic cards.
thank you, I have already 2k gold, wich expansion should i buy? :D
really thank you! are adventures now free or i can buy them?
Thanks, i'm trying to understand how it works :D

You are guaranteed a legendary in the first 10 packs you buy of an expansion. So at least buy ten packs of any expansion you want.
If you are in your first year of playing please read this post.
Dust does not burn a hole in the jar. Be careful what you craft, especially before and right after a rotation.
