At the risk of showing my own ignorance, are there any popular black/African American Hearthstone streamers? I watch Daily Hearthstone Moments routinely and can't think of a single familiar face who'd fit that description.
Of the female streamers I know who play/played HS, Hafu's super busy with other stuff right now (Among Us etc) and Glitter just lost her mom, plus there's also the possibility of people not being able to travel to the US because the US is currently not allowing a bunch of countries entry right now from the pandemic. There may be reasons that haven't been made public why some faces aren't there.
Where’s the downvote button? You are just plain dishonest on your criticism of both videos. You are arguing against a position that the content maker or its followers did not make. It’s called a straw man. Straight up misinformation.
Honestly I don't know how do you expect anyone to read your wall of text titled as "zeddy is bad".
I don't care about what he did before, because this doesn't change the fact that he's spitting facts. Before anyone replies to this, just start with the average amount of days you need to level up from level 49 to 50 only with weekly and daily quests and whether you think this is okay or not
If you think that's a 'wall of text' then it just says more about you to be honest. Maybe next time the OP can write it in size 20 font and include mots of nice, big pictures for the kids.
The fact you think he is 'spitting facts' (come on, grow up) suggests you aren't bothered about actual facts, you just want to hear more of what feels good to you.
This whole uproar is laughable. It really is. I get the small bundle each expansion (and haven't even always got that), I've bought the large bundle one time. I have around 5/6k gold each expansion and I'm smart with dusting, nerfs and Hall of fame.
I have 28k dust currently and a few k in reserve. I craft the cards I need for any decks I want to play on a whim and can't think the last time I couldn't play something I wanted to.
I keep seeing tears about how much the entire expansion costs. If you're obsessing over having every single card in every expansion then you're causing your own issue. I have probably got anywhere from about 50-90% of each expansion since witch wood. Some expansions have more cards I want to use, others have less. I couldn't get less about a good quarter of the legendaries etc. You're talking about the absolute finished article in collecting everything and expecting it to be a low outlay.
Essentially, your ignorance and stupidity are causing you your own problems. This game is a TON better than it was when I started playing. Better questing, levels to track and work towards, multiple game modes, brawl doesn't have the days between being open that it used to, more expansions every year, solo content, more portraits, better monthly rewards (much better), a new class. Like, it's not even close. Sure, the cost may go up a bit to support it all, that's how things work but I'm fine with it.
These modes, new classes, more frequent balances, more expansions, more portraits and card backs, all of it, it costs more. Up until around the end of last year, this game really struggled to hold my attention between expansions. I would play for around half the length, with a burst initially and then in bits across the remaining time but now of I don't fancy playing ladder, I can jump into duels or even BG which isn't really my cup of tea but I'll have a blast here and there. Announcing the mid set expansions was more brilliant news to me. Will it increase the cost? Yes. Do I care? Absolutely not, I fully expect it to but I would rather that than no new content for months at a time.
If I ever feel this game is too expensive to play or I stop enjoying it, I will simply leave and find better things to do with my time and stop putting money into it. It really is that simple. I've done it with many other games in the past and I've no doubt I'll do it plenty more in the coming years.
You have written many words on why you disagree with Zeddy and see him as a debatable character in the HS community. Yet to my disappointment, I couldn't really see why you even felt like writing all this. I mean, were you under the impression that Zeddy is about to become the inofficially nominated spokesperson of the playerbase or something like that? Is this just about you not liking a Youtuber? Where's your motivation?!
I guess your point is "don't trust someone who portrays himself as a hero" or something along those lines. Which is... fine, I guess? Maybe you should have put that at the beginning. I recently watched one of the videos you mentioned (the one about HS cost), and I didn't like it, and I didn't like him. He was too much of an "angry gamer" for me to take seriously, in his attitude and reasoning (like carelessly exaggerating). So, I didn't really need some extra convincing. But thanks for the effort.
That being said, not related to Zeddy, just to something you have said:
I think no one who wants to join or lead a debate needs to be "morally pure" (whatever that is supposed to mean). If I was waiting for the saint of impeccable integrity to speak up on matters that need to be addressed, I might as well give up on these matters entirely. I'd rather have someone with questionable morals and history saying the right things (perhaps by accident), than no one saying them. I personally think it's necessary to differentiate between the message and the person behind it, for things to progress. Partially, because you can't realistically stay invested in some fields of interest, if you don't want to take inspiration from people who also said and did horrible things.
Zeddy has a history of abusing and bullying devs online. He doesn't even really hide it. He's an immature manchild that constantly whines and complains. He routinely trashes and bans his own twitch viewers and subscribers if they even remotely get out of line. Zeddy is merely using this outrage to further his views and if you believe Zeddy to be the voice of reason during these times, then you are the problem. He's entertaining sure but he's the worst person to lead this movement or whatever it is.
Nobody else brought nearly as much attention to the problems within Hearthstone as Zeddy.
Kripp, RDU, Zalae, whoever else, just play their little BG matches day to day and pretend everything's alright with the game, raking in EZ money in the process. They stay silent on matters such as this, they don't care about the little people. Meanwhile they get invited to prestigious events and advertise them left and right. If you think any of these people are better than Zeddy then maybe you are the problem.
this guy is just plain toxic, thats all. all he does is bashing and ranting about blizzard and the new reward system. he lies about the cost of an new expansion. in his excel sheet he claims, that you need 2k$ for an expansion to have all the cards. wtf, is he on crack? i opened ~145 packs from Darkmoon Faire, crafted a few legendaries and i have 124 out of 135 Cards. I even decided to keep 5k gold and i can disentchant all the duplicates if i need to. thats a little difference between my ~150 packs and his proclaimed ~1500 - ~2000 packs. the worst part of this is, people believe him and then they come to heartpwn and post this shit in this forum
I suspect it is what you need for a full golden collection. He just "forgot" to mention it
There is 73,073 problems with hearthstone, Calling out streamers and there adjective decisions is at the back of our minds, much less IF we see or watch their content Yes, granted thank you for advising us to avoid certain aspects of what they display, but at the end of the day, Zeddy DOES point out what is most important to us the most FOR THE GAME. His values and discrepancies does not represent us as a gaming community as a whole. But what we do want is for devs not have to travel through hate and discrimination just to see how unhappy we are at their game.

Do you know WHY they are invited to prestigious events? Do you think it is because they "lick Blizzard's ass?". No. It is because they are popular streamers. And they got their audiences by their charisma and hard work.
Zeddy is a streamer of different weight category (20K twitch followers is nothing comparing to what those guys have) and now he tries to gain popularity by pandering to people who enjoy hearing negativity. It isn't anything new. I know successful youtube channels that do nothing except saying how awful popular franchises are and how their owners ignore and\or exploit "true fans".
Zeddy isn't the only one who expressed displeasure with the new battlepass, but neither Solem nor Deckster nor anyone else I am familiar with went for manipulations or attacked unrelated stuff like the duels tournament or Give C'thank bundle.

He did admit in a tweet that he went overboard with the comments he'd made towards other players and that he's sorry for the things he said.
If you think about it, if one streamer, just one (who isn't even in the same league as others as you mentioned) was able to stir things up this bad there must have been serious issues with the game to begin with.
One man, with a measly number of followers compared to others - like you said - will not turn a whole community against Blizzard and content creators, will not bombard the game with bad reviews on every platform possible, will not turn the Duels tournament chat into a shtfest - these were ordinary players, and a lot of them.
He is no master manipulator (certainly not with the numbers he has), this is waaaay bigger than him. It's just his timing and the message he was trying to get through was on point.
1. it's BS to invite someone based on their gender or race. next we will have LGBTQP soon and that will be the day I say goodbye to Hearthstone. We don't want politics and reverse discrimination in games. Black lives matters was the last proof we had, a bunch of terrorists disguising under black people. like Christ rock once said, "I love black people, but i hate N*ggers", his quote , not mine. I also agree, Pathra is not the best player, but if Blizzard wants to give her a chance, at least she got it.
2. Hearthstone is AFFORDABLE, I can spend $40 and get additional 80-100 extra packs and I would probably have most cards and craft some legendaries I want. Those who think Hearthstone is expensive... well just play battlegrounds or try a mobile game.. where you will face pay2win players who spent tens of thousands of dollars. Blizzard games are cheap..15bux a month for WoW, 15-20$ per month for HS. I work and have a multilevel marketing business, which means i spent 2 hours max everyday gaming. If you work more than you play games, theoratically you should have money for luxury. Other people that I know spent money on things like bicycles, expensive dining , good for them, I spend mine on blizzard games.
The Game have issues, every game does and i think blizzard try to solve/fix it in their own way. blizzard cannot please everyone.
About the invitation tournament point out by Zeddy, one of the comments is right. race and gender was not the basis, i think Zeddy use sympathy card because it is a timely issue right now, come'on man!
I think HS is affordable now since the duplicate system was remove. every expansion i opened around 160+ packs (80 pre order, and 80+ pack on my save gold in that expansion. when i check my collection achievement i noticed that before the duplicate system, its 60% to 70% complete but right now its 85% to 90% complete, in this expansion i lack only 3 legendary.
The changes in HS right now is good, just need a little things to polish.

I don't understand something. Why is their race or sex relevant when it comes to who is invited? Is the Invitational supposed to be a competition? And if so, based on what, what is being measured in said competition?
Invitationals aren't exactly competitions. They are more like a show. They choose popular players, not the best players (For example Kripp is an AWFUL duels player but has a huge audience coming with him.)
BTW, anyone who runs an invitational wants diversity. They want players popular within different groups. Truth is that huge majority couldn't care less about gender, orientation, ethnicity, religion, etc., They only care if player is interesting for them to watch\root for.

Exactly. It's enough to bring at least one decently looking girl, and a lot of horny teenagers are gonna flock to watch it. Of course, the next step is to cry and beg for their parents' credit card to buy them the game and try to become more famous - simply to have a chance of meeting any girls.
This is what the "online community" is about nowadays: anxiety-driven teens that have no idea how to talk to the opposite sex, yet are horny enough to require seeing girls (even on a monitor) to trigger the need to release the boiled up testosterone.
Somehow I knew that if this post caught on, it would be mercifully easy to know who read it and who didn't. But a few specific responses . . .
1. No, I would never brag about having a MAcc or a JD, if you'd met some of the morons who passed the Bar in my state, you'd understand it's nothing to brag about.
2. I wrote this because I've seen people mention this guy Zeddy in a positive light, and as far as I can see, he hasn't posted a single honest argument yet. And, by all objective standards I know to judge by, he's a real-deal racist (as opposed to the "I don't like a person so I'll call him the R-word, racist").
3. Someone said I was arguing against straw men. I assure you, if anything I gave him every possible benefit of the doubt, including pointing out that he briefly admitted his own numbers were false in the cost analysis video (before relying on same numbers later in the video). Of course, the same guy who mentioned strawmen didn't post a single example, so . . . yeah.
4. On the subject of diversity, everyone has their own opinion on the value of racial and gender diversity, but that is not remotely related to the disgusting practice of omitting Asians from minority classification.
5. On the subject of cost of Hearthstone, I freely admitted the game is more expensive. Again, that doesn't give anyone the right to misstate the problem by orders of magnitude.
Thanks for reading.

Enjoying Americans winning in the Olympics is forbidden because it is political. A 14 plus page discussion of state-sponsored lawsuits against a multi-national corporation based on harassment, discrimination, and wrongful death allegations is apparently not political enough to raise an issue.
I very specifically said "in America" to forestall someone pointing out the completely-irrelevant-to-the-video fact that in the world, Asians are a plurality. Not a majority, btw.
There are many people who disagree with regards to the considering race in diversity promotion. Again, I said in the original post that has always been a lazy way to proxy for actual diversity, but that's an argument that's been raging long before the video in question.
Also, the words he used were "people of color" which has a meaning only in the context of differentiating from whiteness. And regardless of how many there are, Asians are not white by any understanding.
EDIT: He has every bit as much a right to be a racist as I have to call him a hypocritical, opportunistic, (insert several things that will get me banned . . . I guess I don't have the right). Fancy that.

Never liked him before all this notoriety he gained, and never liked him now. The only people who remotely like this guy is trolls. I remember one time I asked him a serious question, in that does he actually like having trolls on his stream to which he got upset and kicked me from the stream. So he doesn't like having trolls, but yet his entire stream is full of them because he feeds them. This guy is a fucking joke in of itself.
Oh, btw Dr Dynamite, though you clearly didn't follow my request about responses, I'll be happy to play ball with yours.
Takes 9300 xp to ding lvl 50 from 49.
Average daily quest seems to be a bit below 1k xp, average weekly somewhere around 2k, so . . . looks like 9-10 dailies, 5 weeklies, or some combination of both. Not including . . . you know, playing the game. An act which is strangely non-existent in most people's calculations about leveling. And yes, that's perfectly fine, especially because the subsequent level drops to 4k xp.
As to the wall of text thing, I truly pity someone who can't read what I wrote faster than they can type what you wrote.

Personally, I stopped watching the "Blizzard Lies" video as soon as the personal attacks began. It seemed pretty clear that the fellow was simply cashing in on the latest reddit shit-storm - his own shit-storm videos get about ten times as many views as his regular content.
FWIW - the game has never seemed more F2P friendly. Under the old system, completing Dailies rewarded about 7500 gold for each expansion. Owing to no-duplicate protection, those 75 packs produce full sets of Commons and Rares (86 cards in Darkmoon), and about 15 different Epics and 5 different Legendaries. With the dust from duplicates, golds and trash Epics and Legendaries, any F2P will be able to craft one or two good Legendaries, and two or three Epics. Call the total 110 cards. That's 82% of the set, for free, about twenty minutes after the set launches. Blizzard also gives the F2Ps an additional pair of Legendaries on the Reward Track. After a week of play, F2Ps can easily have 85%-90% of a new set without ever spending any money on it.
As far as the new system goes - the new system was announced with plenty of promises. One of them wasn't "on launch day, you will be able to accurately calculate how much gold you'll earn over the next four months, because we won't be adding anything else to the reward track." In fact, one of the people who was called a liar made the opposite promise on the subreddit, weeks before the system actually launched - "going forward, new content will be added." Pointing out that the comment was made earned some bastard 170 down-votes (probably more, by now). Blizzard has already added 1300 gold to the track, after deleting the shitty late-track rewards - it isn't exactly unlikely that more shit will be added during special events or seasonal promotions.
Genuine thanks for this, I forgot about Pizza.

Helpful Clarification on Forbidden Topics for Hearthstone Forums:
Enjoying Americans winning in the Olympics is forbidden because it is political. A 14 plus page discussion of state-sponsored lawsuits against a multi-national corporation based on harassment, discrimination, and wrongful death allegations is apparently not political enough to raise an issue.
