How much money would it cost to own every card in yugioh? Or MTG? In those games, its clearly apparent that you aren't supposed to collect every single card, but instead build up 4~5 relevant decks. Hearthstone is somewhere in the middle. I think the fact that you CAN collect every card in a set easier than most card games puts people in the collector mindset. Many cards are bad. You should DE those and craft the cards you need. Holding onto them just for the sake of completionism is not helping you.
TCG and OCG comparison much ?
Whats the difference?
In Tcgs u own physical cards. In OCG u dont even own a pixels. As for the TCGs u can always sell a card or buy single of it. In OCGs u random.
Talking about the yugioh OCG? I'd still like to see you collect every card.
For the above question, the TCG will often take the most important card of an archetype and make it the highest possible rarity, while the OCG will make entire archetypes cost effective to my knowledge. Still seems ill suited for a completist mindset though.
In Nexus and Percey u have all cards for free. If we are talking about OCGs. Duel links is another game and it does follow free to play model that is a lot less expensive than HS. And if we are talking about Legacy of a duelist well its a 20 ? dollar game that gets updated from time to time to include more and more cards.
As for reprints are considered there are A LOT of reprints of some cards in different rarities depending on what is atually short printed in meta game atm. U can still get your playset at reasonable price.
Every 3 days we get a new thread saying Hearthstone is expensive because you bought xxx packs and still not own a full collection.
Seriously why do you need a full collection if you are just playing Druid, Warrior and Shaman?
I bought the megapack only and I can play Warlock and Priest decks well. In fact I have enough dust to craft Tikatus and the old gods golden. If I am not playing the other classes, why will I insist on owning the full collection.

I am only talking about owning the full set for those 3 classes
A monthly fee or limiting the prices to like $20 pr expansion. You should get at least 75-80% of the cards for that imo..
Paying more than a AAA-game every 3-4 months to try and keep up a collection is just stupid. Blizzard are excluding so many players just because of the insane pay-to-play model.

You opened 200+ packs but don't have enough dust to craft what you want for just 3 classes? The good thing about hearthstone is that dust can craft any card you want. Hence if you just want to play few classes, it ain't expensive at all.

$20 per expansion means merely $5 a month to get everything. Check out the prices of other mobile games nowadays, whether it is genshin, pokemon or arknights. See what you can get for $5 in their stores.
Hearthstone is a collection game as well as mobile game. Comparing to single player AAA games isn't realistic.
This is getting silly. I agree that the game is expensive but just because you spent a certain amount of money doesn't mean you should get every card in the game otherwise whats the point? I just laugh at the people who spend 50 bucks and complain that they don't have a full collection and say hearthstone is greedy. I agree that we should be trying to get the cost of the game down but screaming and abusing people, especially the devs who have nothing to do with the business model, is the exact opposite way to go. If you really want to to make a change, walk away and stop spending money but stop demonizing anyone who does.

you are responding to an arguement that is not being made, how about you stop arguing fictional people?
And this here is why the game is so expensive, because there are actually people that spend $230.
I am not free to play, sometimes get a pre order sometimes don't. I do believe blizzard needs to lower the cost but it will never happen when there are still people that spend this amount of $$
Like every f2p game where you can spend money on, it can be extremely expensive if you are willing to pay that much. Compare it to FIFA or any game like that. People are spending way too much on these games.
But since you fall for it, they wont change the system. 230€?? I think you should learn how to manage your finances first, im sorry.
I've always wondered if these more famous streamers receive compensation in the form of complete and/or gold collections to toe the company line.
They just don't care, because it's their job. they pay whatever they want on the game and reduce the taxes (don't know how to say that in english otherwise). Kibler f.e. has over 100k gold, but never uses it. He even pays 60-180$ if he wants a specific golden legendary and people in his chat go nuts, because they don't understand why he is doing that. They don't care about the cost of hearthstone and they don't care about the reward system. other streamers in other games do the exact same thing, because they don't care. CoD or Fortnite Battle Pass out, instant buy for whatever, even if they would get all the stuff for free from playing.
On another side, why should they attack HS if they want to keep playing it? The Invitationals and GM League and so on are very lucrative.

whats up with these personal attacks??
I am saying it like it is and people use it as an excuse to attack me, wtf... how are we gonna have a real talk about the issue when this is the responds someone will get for laying the cards on the table???
I paid the money and I could pay a lot more if I so desired, I got a job, yall know what a job is? I am just trying to say it is not fair nor good for the game to be this expensive and if someone pays a fk ton of money like i did they should own the entire game... fk off with this finger pointing it is not adding anything to the discussion
Like i said, these kinds of games are made like that. Of course it‘s bs that you don‘t get everything for that amount of money but that‘s how it works. You cannot expect anything else from this system.

Today I read in the us-forum that some whales spend around 3500-4000$ total. I guess it makes sense for blizzard to be stingy about rewards with people like that around.
As others have already said, Blizzard prefers to suck a lot of money out of relatively few whales than a reasonable amount of money from a very many people. It pays off in the short term, but it will kill the game in the long run, which is happening right now.
So far I have been F2P, but after the recent changes to the economy system, playing that way won't be possible any longer, so this is my last expansion. 7,000 gold per expansion was barely enough for 1-2 reasonable decks, now there won't be even that.

What would happen if you can get the whole collection for 80$ ?

Grammar is the difference between knowing your crap, and knowing you’re crap.
