Speaking personally, I'm at level 31 right now, so I should expect to earn at least 10K gold before the next expansion.

     You're gonna end up  disappointed.

Based on what evidence? This is an algorithm created by a group that has been quite critical of the rewards track and of Blizzard as a whole. Or are you just intent on being angry because you can't play a brain-dead face deck and get your cheap 100 gold every night?

So you say that we (people who actually play more than daily quests) should be happy that we get less free stuff. That's like thanking the goverment for increasing taxes.

Not at all. I also play more than my daily quests. And I'll make (substantially) more gold than before. The simple fact is that under the old system, fast, aggro decks had an unfair advantage over slower decks when it came to gold earnings. A win is a win, whether it takes 3 minutes or 10. But if I prefer to play control decks, why should I have to play 3 times as long as you to get the same gold reward?

It was a good way to tackle ropers and I'm curious if they do something about it because it ruins the game.

Today I read in the us-forum that some whales spend around 3500-4000$ total. I guess it makes sense for blizzard to be stingy about rewards with people like that around.

Turn 4 win in turn 5, nah its just a balanced card

The problem is with those cards is, often you won't draw them but if you do it's crushing. If you have 10 mana, it's almost a dead card in your hand. So, there is a fair risk involved with it and thus I think it's an ok card with a bad design.

I dont understand. Arena has the same rewards as before as far as I know. Getting gold to have some backup resources for it is easy, especially at the start of the reward track.

If you are a good player, you can still go infinite, just like in the old system.

it must be a really bad thing to be someone like you in real life. I don't understand this ignoble thing in defend white privilegies, more monetary scams and already rich ppl. I don't understand ppl that defend bosses and savage capitalist systems...I really don't understand if this is some sort of lack of character and ppl like you don't actually believe the own shit but still like to defend it like a Shiny golden Troll online.
I mean, if there's for real ppl out there defending this system they really need to see a professional of some sort, something is really wrong.
This new system is worse than Russia Agressive Capitalism from 90's

Whats with you always insulting people?

When I started as a f2p, I loved arena because it was the only mode where I could play all those cards I didn't have. It's still a great mode for that.

Yes it is, I mean Blizzard could do offer free arena tickets every 5 levels in addition to the regular reward that would make the system a little bit better.

They are basically taking all the whales accounts hostage, pointing a GUN at them and saying "if you dont spend more money NOW, we will keep scaring away the f2p players until the game dies!".

Machiavelli would love this one. This is so EVIL! They know the whales have no choice, they already spent thousands of dollars, if the game dies all their money is GONE, since no one buys accounts of a dying game! Fuckin diabolical.

Im so glad I never spent a dime on this piece of shit company, but feel very sorry for all the whales being blackmailed like this, they are being punished for liking a game too much, unbelievable.

I don't know, I never pre-ordered but I sometimes bought those 10-20$ packages because I thought at that time, it's fair and the game was fun at that moment. Like someone said in another thread they are more to open to spend money if they think the money is well spend and the devs are doing a good job.
Sadly the game is turning in a wrong direction now but that wasn't always the case.

Imagine if you're a new player, just starting out. You dont want to spend money yet cuz you're still trying out the game, so you play arena to grind packs, as every f2p should. You're not very good at it cuz you're noob, so most of your runs dont give you the 150g back. After spending all your initial gold, you must grind lvls in the battle pass. It takes FOREVER, so you play arena less and less often, and still you havent earned nearly enough to build the deck you want, so what do you do? Spend real money or quit the game.

If even veterans cant always go infinite e grind in arena, what about the new players? Forget arena, the whole game can die if they keep treating f2p players like this.

Yeah, it's a shame. In the old system even if you weren't the best player you could play arena every two days. Now, it's possible that you can only play once a week in the later stages of the system. It encourages spending money and that's bad. Now, if the mediocre players can't effort arena only the good will remain and the skill ceiling will rise again. Making it even more difficult to achieve higher wins. It's a loss for everyone.

The sad part is, they will change the system if they face to much backslash to its original form and people will install Hearthstone again. Until they try the next shit again. 9000xp for 1 year of the dragon pack is the last nail in the coffin.

I feel like a lot of the complaints come from people who play "less than average", if we assume average is roughly 1 hour per day (or 7 hours per week).

To me, it sounds like people want to get a ridiculous amount of rewards for playing, say, 3 hours per week?  That doesn't make any sense to me.  If you want rewards, you have to slightly grind.  I think the new system is either a sidegrade or better than the old system.  Factor in the potential pro that getting achievements "feels good"... I don't know why so many people complain.  People just love to focus on negativity, and then they complain about why everything sucks haha.

You have a Naruto Profile picture. Are you old enough to say something like that? Do you realize that many ppl work, study and just used to play HS by 2-3hours a day, for 30 days and was really okay with that? Get some responsability in your life first than you can come back here and speak of adults.

You have a Hearthstone card profile picture. Come back if you are an adult and think people can have a valid opinion even with an anime profile picture.

Let's see how the system works out. It's out for a day and people raising pitch forks already, just chill out.
