They pull cards out of their butt like nothing. They create boards out of nothing. It looks like they run out of cards and they still play stuff that miraculously appears in their hands, a lackey here, a removal there, another minion here, a couple of secrets there, a rebounce here, a card draw there and rigorously all in one turn of course.
Can we have one expansion in which finally rogue is fair??? No matter what happens this class always makes the cut? WTF?
Now they get INSANE dual-class cards (yes more card generators please) and a secret that adds copies of the CARDS, not one but ALL OF THEM, to their hand. Really? Did the y need this?
I always play rogue. It is very fun but there are many drawbacks of this class. No heal, no board clear, and the deck is kinda slow. So, if it is really difficult to deal with aggro deck (hunter) or deck that creates crazy board in one turn like druid and shaman. But is so fun to play against priest though...
No, we can't have fair Rogue until Edwin and Shadowstep is HoFed.
Almost every other class got its classic and basic set power cards either HoFed or nerfed in oblivion but Rogue somehow escapes every single time.
Blade flurry? Nerfed to unplayable. Vanish? HoF. Preparation? Nerfed to almost unplayable. Cold blood? Nerfed to almost unplayable. Gang up? HoF. Conceal? HoF. Not to mention all big rogue spells became unplayable because of preparation nerf. If you think rogue dodged nerf and HoF of basic and classic set you are dillusional.

It doesn't matter how many cards Rogue got nerfed or HoFed, their Classic set is two notches above anyone else. Edwin or Shadowstep (ideally both) has to go.

I mean this is entirely true. The general power level of classic sets these days are almost nothing. Even after rogue has had multiple rounds of nerfs, they still typically play the highest number of classic cards. Backstab, Eviserate, Edwin, Shadow Step are in almost every single rogue deck. As they have taken things like Mountain Giants out of the game, they have scaled back on early game big removal to deal with those. Turn 4 big Edwins for a lot of people are just the end of the game.

Whatever. It was HoF while it was still standard.
Without Edwin and shadowstep, Rogue has no way to win against aggro. Zero. If you remove those cards, suddenly rogue needs board clears or a different way to pressure aggro. It would be waaayy too slow without them. If you really want to nerf them, fine, but it should be a small change, like change edwin base stats to 1/1 or shadowstep only has 1 reduction when bouncing to hand.

They are in every deck why? Because they are the ONLY ways to deal with aggro. Hearthstone devs continue to print slow cards for rogue and they are weak. If you want Rogue to stop including these cards in decks, they need better early game cards.

I totally agree. I don't want to see any class nerfed to the ground. It makes the game way less fun to have no diversity. They do need to print some early game removal tools for rogue if you want to nerf any of the above. The issue was that Edwin used to be all or nothing. When you made a 10/10 Ewdin, you'd starve yourself of resources for a least a few turns for the hope that you could just outright win. Currently rogue has massive resource generation so creating a massive Edwin always feels like the right play. This is what I have a problem with. If something is always the right decision, it's generally broken.

With secret passage incoming, I do think that edwin could be a problem, yes, because it is pretty much no risk to go all in. Right now its still not always the right choice. It's only the right choice every time against aggro. If you are against priest or warrior and it just gets removed with death, brawl, or shield slam, you lose, when you could have won by just grinding it out a bit longer. But yes, if you are against a fast deck as rogue, you pretty much have no choice but to make a big edwin.

I don't know what are talking about Gang Up. It was a very niche card that only saw play in Mill Rogue, which was tier 3 at best, and it was never HoFed. Yes, it was moved to wild but that happens to literally every single expansion card.
is not a good card against aggro. Its main purpose is to do combos with Battlecry/Combo minions against Control and Midrange Tempo decks to gain board or for burst. In aggro heavy metas, many times people cut 1x Shadowstep because it is not a good card against Aggro.
If I were to nerf I would make Edwin gain +1/+2 and make Shadowstep 1 mana.

shadowstep is how rogue beats aggro if you are playing an aggressive rogue deck. sure if you are playing a slower or more midrange/tempo rogue deck its not as good, but bouncing a 1 or 2 drop to give edwin +4/4 wins games against aggro if you are a fast rogue deck, and its fine to shadowstep just to restore health on a minion. Maybe i mistook gang up since it rotated at the same time as the first hall of fames.
Looking at top rated current decks.... Not seeing a whole lot of Rogue representation in either tier 1 or 2. If anything Rogue is an average to below average class in Standard and quite possibly the worst class in Wild. Every class is strong and weak against certain other class/build types. If your deck is playing poorly against Rogue, it's either a poor match up or you are being out played. You can literally make budget Hunter, Warrior and DH decks that beat Rogue easily and take little to no thought to play.
Secret and stealth are both half decks, you can't complete a full 30 cards deck without fillers.
Highlander is trash after Alex nerf.
Many classes are nerfed to the oblivion but for some reason hunter with an insane ammount of extremely powerful and underscosted cards remain untouched, why? I don't have a clue.
... does it always feel like cheating?

Can't go aggro because the lack of support.
