DH is a fun class to play against, but I had better win% only from mages, but that divides to two - Aggro DH I had 70+%, today 100%, while against HL and tempo DH I had about 0% with druid and now 80% with priest (4/5)
Aggro DH looks like an automated zombie could play it. The rest of DH looks good and is still fun to play against. The hype would wear down.
I don't mind playing against DH. I think I have a 70-75 WR against them as highlander Priest. Won 4 out of 4 today pretty easy.
Do u mind sharing ur Highlander Priest deck? Also which DH deck did u struggle the most against?
I'd also like to see this please.
After a 2 expac hiatus, I am going to play a Highlander deck, as it is a style I have not played before, and I also got the mage freebie deck.
would like to see all of the options for this style of deck before committing dust. Also might get some packs next week, so having a handle on cards before then can help me pick which packs to buy.
I think highlander warrior is another possibility (highlander mage and demon hunter as well though) I will most likely get sick of just playing one style of deck though, so doubt I'll build them all.
Any predictions on which Highlander deck will be the one?
In spite of the fact that DH started off completely busted and is still just a bit overtuned even after the nerfs, it's still a fun class to play. The curve and synergy of the main class staples feel really good. I play midrange/tempo DH and if I curve Battlefiend, Umberwing, Satyr Overseer, Raging Felscreamer, Priestess of Fury (which happens like once every 5-6 games) it feels completely unstoppable. Couple that with the flexibility of a card like Twin Slice and a 1 mana hero power that you can toss in any time your curve doesn't line up perfectly and the class just feels really smooth and polished.
I'm definitely glad that Blizzard nerfed the class and it probably still needs a couple more tweaks, but I really like the flavor and play style.
The fundamental issue with DH is that it doesn't run out of steam. In the end it's just an aggro deck. Aggro decks have historically been vulnerable to board wipes and struggling in the late game.
DH doesn't have those weaknesses - it can refill the board after a nuke without any effort and on top of that it has a crazy draw power. When was the last time you saw Face Hunter (or any other aggro deck) go to fatigue? With DH it happens if the opponent plays a slower deck and is still alive after enough turns. I myself went to fatigue with two DHs today (playing Highlander Mage).
They basically designed aggro 2.0 - aggro without its typical flaws. If DH didn't have its ridiculous draw power, there would be nothing to complain about it.
P.S. Struggling now? Just wait till they give DH some kind of a late game deadly combo. You will not only be struggling to survive early- to mid-game, but also keeping in mind that with this ridiculous draw engine, they will inevitably draw their components. This is what you call a "limiting design" (what Blizzard apparently wants to avoid at all costs).
Problem with Demon Hunter is that it has no weaknesses it's a jack of all trades and has no bad matchups from what I can see. GG on the playtesting Blizz.
so much broken shit in this class, already hit legend yesterday in standard, started climbing from 5 today with reno DH.
I just discovered megatheridion from the 2 cost discover demon, play it on 4, kill the 3 things in 2 turns and zeph into windfury for the kill on 6. You can't lose with this even while memeing.
i haven´t played Ranked for almost half a year so with the new Expansion i was pretty hyped to grind ranked... what´s wrong with me enjoying a game and play alot of it? Also i´m from germany so i can´t go to the gym or anywhere else where other ppl are... my day doesn´t end after i´m done playing hs for "6h" so i have plenty time left to do something else.
I don't know. I haven't played any ranked games since the new set dropped...I ranked up during the first week of the month. I would like to start accumulating some wins with DH (to work toward the 500/1000 wins), but I feel like it will be all mirrors or decks created to specifically counter them. Maybe near the end of the month.
Now that I think about it, I should have gotten the wins when the class was (more) broken : /
So we get a new class, and of course everyone is going to be playing it. Demon Hunter is accessible to everyone, old players, new players, casual players, hardcore players. It's extremely powerful, and since both players are using the same overpowered cards, its suddenly...fair. Extremely fair, actually... the most fair! So day 1 I found a list, played it, had success, then it started performing worse as I encountered better DH deck lists, so I changed my list, and so forth and by about 5 revisions my deck was rolling through the DHs and especially the few non-DH I would face. Winning is fun, the outcast mechanic is like a game in itself, so I had a lot of fun.
But... This is going to get old. Thankfully these nerfs already have non-DH seeing more play. If these nerfs are enough to really boost one of the anti-DH decks, it could could get more people switching sides, further dropping DH playrates. It was always going to see heavy play for quite some time, but I'm hopeful players will yearn the classes they know & love so we get a bit more variety on ladder.
Res Priest is awesome. Slowly dragging the game to its inevitable conclusion all the while making the opponent think they have a chance. It’s beautiful. I also like the harder games where I’m nearly dead and somehow pull it back. It’s a great deck, the new Psyche Split is such a sweet card. Reliquary of Souls is great as well. I’d rather play Res Priest all day than any DH deck. Class has no appeal to me and even less now after they’ve infested the ladder since launch. I will play a few games with DH, three exactly so I can complete the quest but that’s about it. I’ll leave it alone until the hype has died down and the class is more reasonably balanced.
Pretty sure when people actually play against res priest with decks that cant win, they just rope down while playing a different game, or browsing Youtube or Reddit. More likely you're being trolled into wasting your own time, rather than the other way around.
I'm seeing lot's of people that just want to complain that they haven't figured out how to stop a new deck and yes it's everywhere cuz it's NEW! I'm loving messing with the new class and expect most of my games to be against it for awhile. Hopefully they don't go to far and make it an unplayable class in either format because lot's of people are having fun with a new toy and others don't want to adjust to it.

Demon Hunters already have an unavoidable "Deal 16 damage to random enemies" with a 10/6 + 6/7 body on the board on turn 8. Its not like they need a finisher after that. Since Kayn and Altruis reliably end games at that point.
I love playing both dh and res priest and i like playing against them even more because thats how you become smarter and a better player by finding ways to counter them while not comprising your deck against easier matchups. I think y'all need to stop whining and get good. Especially after a couple of days like chill tf out people. I went from rank 3 to legend with secret rogue agaisnt mostly dh presumeably because no one knows how to counter it yet. Same difference. Stop complaining and get good chumps.
I like the idea behind new keyboard: Outcast. It's something new and fresh for the game. The problem is they printed too many broken cards to the DH, a class without a "identity": draw - lifesteal - mana reduction - demons/weapon sinergy - tempo - taunt - rush and I'm probably missing something more.

EDIT: pun none intended.
It'll settle down
Yes, And further more, Yes!

Already hate demon hunter, I’m in legend and dropped 6000 ranks today mainly due to DHs
OTK players suck.

You can complain about Demon Hunter, you can complain about Res Priest, but you cannot complain about Demon Hunter while playing Res Priest
