Play enough games (you need lots, if you’re slightly above 50% winrate). Mulligan correctly every time, using HSReplay. Play a tier 1 deck. Tech it, depending on what you’re facing (use a tracker).
I climbed to rank 5 last month for the first time. I don't put that much time into laddering, and usually only get rank 10. My experience was lots of aggro shammy and mech hunter. I was playing my own control warrior build. Used 2 spellbreakers for hunter, and 2 scraphounds for the aggro. I would usually lose to conjurer mage, and my mirror, but i did not see them that often, and usually beat my aggro matchups.
I would suggest play a deck that usually beats your common matchups you face.
No matter what deck you use you still need to know how to play well. It isn't hard to get to level 5 but you need to know your deck and what to play and what not to play.
Figure out what kinds of decks you can play - maybe you're better at tempo, so stick to it
Find a meta archetype that suites your strengths
Build a deck - either use a decklist and craft what you don't have, or if you fancy yourself the creative type build your own version
STICK TO THAT DECK - Obviously if it brings you straight back to rank 10 with a 20% win rate you might want to ditch it, but otherwise try to stay to the same deck. The more you play it the better you'll get with the deck and the better you'll be able to alter it in your own way.
Improve the deck - time to craft and do some card swapping to perfect that deck
Play, play play - it really does take some time, but you'll get there
My other tip would be to install a deck tracker if you don't have one already. As a Pogo Hopper player myself I can say its honestly won me games knowing exactly what's been in my deck. It can also help you understand your win rates better, and see where the deck's weak points are. Hope this helps.
Those are some pretty general tips but if you wanted specific decks I've been running Pogo Hopper and Token Druid pretty successfully so far, but who knows what's gonna happen with the new meta
Hi everyone, I been trying to rank in standar format, but i don´t know what decks are better for that. Right now i´m rank 8.
Thanks for your opinions and suggestions!!
:)
Its not about the deck you play with. The deck you use will def determine how long it can take though. Fast decks have shorter games etc...
Its really about knowing the meta in a general way. Knowing what cards to play around for example. Knowing their "swing turns" etc....
And its also about playing to your outs, like in poker, and make your plays accordingly. Sometimes you dont have the answer you need atm, but you plan ahead, and make some plays that help you if and when you do draw your spell/minion.
Dont just think about the turn your playing and waste cards etc....get as much value out of your cards as you can. Tempo is king. Value on the board equals tempo, and sometimes value in hand wins it back next turn....
Knowing your opponent possible cards or deck, helps you Mulligan better. Is it more important in this matchup to play for tempo, or is this a slow match where I can keep something for later in the game in my opening hand?
Dont keep switching decks every game. I do it alot and it hurts my progress, so dont do it. Stick with a deck, that way you will learn it inside out, and know how to handle diff scenarios in game.
Keep it simple, and adjust to your pocket meta. If everyone is playing the exact counter to your deck, maybe dont play that. Have another type of deck to play to counter when that happens, otherwise try to stick with 1 class style of play.
Good luck. You will do it. Follow the basics of know your enemy, know yourself, plan ahead.....
You just have to shoot a happy streak. On 31.07 from rank 10 to rank 5, I came without a single loss. It is not worth mentioning that I had unlucky streak for a whole month. Opponents with full combo in 8 cards, leeroy in 6 turn etc. Sometimes you have luck sometimes bad luck - if you are not lucky today, try it tomorrow.
You picked the worst possible day to ask which decks are best. Like, literally, there could not be a time when people are more clueless about the meta.
That said, if you are free to play and/or new to the game, you are not going to get to rank 5 anytime soon. Set a more realistic goal, or you are going to become very frustrated very quickly.
If you haven't pre-ordered any Uldum cards, you are going to have a similarly hard time. This is the most powerful set we've seen in a very long time, so if you're trying to get by with budget decks, Ranked is going to be harder than ever.
If you do have experience and some of the new cards, you're in the same boat as the rest of us, trying to figure out what's good.

Midrange hunter might do the trick (it did for me) - and it is fun to play!
Token Druid is the best.

I used this deck to hit rank 2 last szn. https://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/1288905-ancient-stag-heal-token-druid-70-wr-rank-10-2
Granted the new expansion hits tommorow so you got 1 day to really use this deck.

My Friend an me used Deathrattle/Secret Hunter :)
And the mvp of my deck was Baron Geddon. Wins you games against aggro and token druid. I won so many games due to that card.
No matter what deck you use you still need to know how to play well. It isn't hard to get to level 5 but you need to know your deck and what to play and what not to play.
for example, mech hunter. What do i have to know or take care about?
try to go face often then you fine :D rank 5 is very easy to climb with the win streak
Ok my advice to you.

A decent Deck that you know how to play. Luck to play against a deck that doesn't counter yours.

Win 3 in a row, get the bonus
