Since now it's become almost certain that this expansions theme is about a group of villains banding together to escape/raid Violet Hold, it's only logical that a future expansion will feature a band of heroes working together to stop them. Who do you all think will make up the team of heroes? Here are my thoughts:
Since this is supposed to be a story played out through the whole year, there's a good chance we meet up with previous heroes as well. Maybe all the original Hearthstone heroes.
I feel like with each expansion, we'll be able to drive the villains out of each area but not without them gaining some artifact of power or something. It'll have to take all the dragon aspects to band together to take down this team in the end and whatever they happened to be collecting over the course of the year.
Given all the Villains are Hearthstone originals (apart from Boom, but he basically is at this point), I highly doubt we're going to see Tirion, Medivh or Genn.
However, there are plenty of candidates to oppose each Villain.
If I had to guess, I'd say Blizzard might just have the League of Explorers oppose them - they kind of already fit as a cohesive team. But there are plenty of good options for an Avengers / Justice League counterpart to this Sinister Six / Suicide Squad.
What i think is that the "heroes" are the people presented in the trailers, and we get to play them in the next adventure against whatever dungeon bosses similiar to how monster hunt worked. That's my theory

Tirion Fordring - TGT/KotFT
Elise Starseeker - LoE/UNG
Marin the Fox - KAC
Medivh, the Guardian - Karazhan
Genn Greymane - TWW

Rafaam obviously has the entire League of Explorers (Reno Jackson, Elise Starseeker, Sir Finley Mrrgglton and Brann Bronzebeard) going against him; we saw Houndmaster Shaw in Hagatha's video, he would make sense; Marin the Fox would definitely work for Togwaggle; Dr. Boom is trickier to find a match for - maybe a renegade scientist? Whizbang the Wonderful? Gazlowe if you want someone from his GvG days?; The Fortune Teller herself doesn't really have any enemies that I know of, but I'd laugh so hard if Ragnaros, Lightlord showed up.

You can find me here! Good luck everyone!
Well, i guess my words were misleading. We dont have a confirmation that hes a dragon, just a pretty cool theory.
