Ever since I even'd up my total arena wins to 1000 a few months back, I swore I'd NEVER play it ever again.
However, I suddenly feel like playing arena again, please try to convince me to play arena again (I am so OCD so destroying that beautiful 1000 is killing me)
I am considering trying to catch up to my ranked wins but I feel like this isn't realistic and would take years.
Is it still fun ? Worth playing ? Yes / no ? Discuss.
Ok here goes!
I blew all my gold on pack day when BDP came out. This is what I built up to already through arena and quests, as well as some 30-odd packs (see attached)
ARENA IS WORTH IT. And super fun :)

I wasn't planning on going for a run today. But those cops came out of nowhere.
Arena is currently in a pretty good spot right now after a ton of adjustments from Blizzard’s end, so its definitely pretty fun. Also, Arena is a gold generator at this point, almost all the decks I’ve drafted have gone 7+ wins. Overall, decision is yours, but I feel its definitely pretty fun now especially since RNG was reduced a lot.
7+ HOW?????? I don’t suck at this game. I’ve hit legend ones. I have taken arena to tourorials, coaching’s, read, watched, everything I can to figure out best practices and strategies with both drafting and subsequently playing most of the hero classes thoroughly. And yet. Unless I am warlock and lucky I rarely get more than four wins. I’m convinced there must be something fundamental I’m just not grasping; please help a noob out!
Arena fundamentals:
#1 Tempo is king
#2 know when to go face (hint: sooner than you think)
#3 know your opponents: ie: against paladin: always clear board, mage: they have board clears, rogue/warlock: kill them quick
#4 Drafting: get removal spells, don't stress synergy, look for good vanilla stats. Make sure you have early game. Don't pick too many minions with 6+ Mana. 3-drops are really good. Make sure you have some draw and some reach.

I think the "unless Warlock" thing is what gives it away. Card advantage is KEY in arena. Always do everything to keep the maximum possible options in hand each turn. Avoid using 2-3 cards to neutralise one threat. Instead, always position/stack your play to force your opponent to do so. Card advantage + tempo + point #3 are what unlocked infinite arena for me. I'm not the greatest player, but nowadays anything less than 7 is a really bad run, because now that I've got it figured out, I have no excuse to have a poor run. Even terrible decks should net you 3 wins - as long as you've mastered these points. If you start off poorly, and have 2 straight losses off the bat, get in peak state for the third game, don't give in mentally. In the 2-loss tier, decks are really terrible, as are the players, and you can easily rebound to a 7-3 or better run off the back of this; plus it gives you the time to find your deck-specific synergies.

Well it sounds like you like/love arena so there really isn't much "convincing" to do. Make a goal and go for it. I thought this post was gonna be someone who hates arena (like me) and needed convincing to play it!
A serious question, I'd like to know how you guys get so much gold?
I play 10-15 games a day which, whilst I admit, is very casual. I reckon some of you guys must be playing 10+ hours a day to get these kind of ranks/gold & dust?

Highrolling arena wins - you can get over 500g a pop.

Started playing yesterday with 150g. Finished with 420g and 4 packs and still have two quests in my log. If you're FTP then arena is the best way to stay competitive (if you're decent at it). Sure you get some days where nothing goes right, but overall I like it.
It does take a lot of practice. You need to learn which cards synergise well when drafting and then know the best strategy to play the deck you drafted.
People saying arena is in a good state right now is lying! Arena is destroyed after the last release! I have been getting 7+ on average since vanilla, but now I get max 3 wins and lots of 0/3 runs - They ruined my passion!

Never really understood Arena. Why double down on RNG? I guess I have a lot of cards though and some people don't.
Free to try and find a game, dealing cards for sorrow, cards for pain.

Rusty Recycler
Ironic. It could recycle others, but not itself.
come back then, so we can convince you again lol

Rank 1712... You really have to do something about that. Get that rank to 1000!
