They said "to the 30th" and not through the 30th which means it should indeed end as the clock ticks over to the 30th.
They really need to be more consistent about their times. Every single damn time they give time spreads for an event or whatever it always ends up being worded differently.
Hell, better idea, put a damn timer in the actual client so people understand the urgency. Oh, wait, that might be too confusing for new players.
I think we all counted on Fire Festival ending at the end of 30th, but I don't think it's Hearthpwn's fault. Whenever there is an event in HS, the date it is supposed to end is usually the day the event still lasts. However, if we all stopped to think about it, it would be obvious that the festival would end on sunday, since it started on monday and it was supposed to last 2 weeks (therefore there was no reason for it to last through monday).
Nonetheless, we all still earned quite a lot of gold with this event, so let's just appreciate that.
It is "last day", not "to 30" or "until". I think, it should pretty clear include the 30th... :/
Again, that post was not a Blizzard quote. The only time something is a direct quote from Blizzard is when we wrap it in a special looking quote box that says it is from them.
@Fluxflashor: Yeah, i understand. I wrote the post during your answer. But I have still the fire festival "learn more about" button in game (Android). And that's Blizzard ;)
Thanks for your answers and keep up the good work! :)

Well the german twitter post you linked definetly said 16th-30th July, which should include the 30th. Seems like a miscommunication/mistranslation on Blizzards media team. Even the american twitter said "through July 30th!"
In the announcement Ragnaros fire festival was scheduled with july 30th as last day?! Now, I've "lost" 120 gold... who else?

That's not a post by Blizzard, that's an error on my part that was never corrected.

Ok, was changed ;)
Too soon Executus! Too soon!

This is where we quoted them on the start and end times where it says "to the 30 [of] July".

They also posted a blog stating "the fire goes out July 30", though we never bothered to cover it due to card reveals.

Welp, good thing I finished all my quests so I didn't lose any gold. :P
Oh Blizzard, now that's just embarrassing.
Thank you :)
Why didn’t you finish both quests anyways if you had them? Can’t expect to get much more than 2x 60g(120 during the festival) quests per 2 days

So you are not to blame. It's Blizzards fault.
A lost opportunity not naming this thread 'Ragnaros festival finished too soon?'
I don't know what, but I have a feeling something is not okay in my screenshot.
On a side note, I would really appreciate a timer of sorts. C'mon, it's not such a hard thing to implement, even for a small indie company.
Darn. First time I save quests for last day and it cost me at least 100 gold

Thank you for this thread. I just finished up my quests with 5 minutes to spare.
too soon?
Best way would have been to just keep quests added during the festival to keep the extra gold indefinitely.
No worries then.
