I think we all have diffrent views on whats good and bad in this game. Depending on what type of decks you like , i never play aggro. Only control , i hated raza priest cus i could never beat them with control deck. I hate this otk shaman deck , i cant beat . I know its not a good deck , but for my playstyle its OP .
So my opionion is that it should never be a good OTK control deck , cus i think it shuts down all other control decks. But im sure alot of other people have the opposite opinion on this. Since they never had problem with raza priest for example.

As of now, any deck has a hard counter. That's why there no need for any nerf.
I sometimes play Shudderwock because it's fun. I tried to play in ranked and I constantly got rekt. It really isn't viable, so why would it be nerfed? Just because it's annoying when it does work out?
I also played against a lot of Shudderwocks as Odd Paladin and Cubelock. I've lost only 1 game so far, and it wasn't even from the OTK.
This forum is constantly whining for nerfs. If Blizzard was actually listening to those, the game would be in a pretty bad shape.
Nerf Shudderwock? Why? It's not like it's the first OTK combo ever, is it? It's not even technically ONE Turn Kill.
Nerf Baku Paladin/Hunter? Why? It's not the first extremely aggro oriented deck either, is it?
Nerf Cubelock? Why? They sure as hell get stomped by some aggro decks too, don't they?
Okay, I agree with you on both the fact that people are whining and on Shudderwock (actually think that deck terrible) and Baku Pala/Hunter - But Cubelock losing to aggro is nothing but a fantasy, unless you play extremly terrible the only Aggro deck that should ever be able to kill you should be Hunter and that would even require you drawing quite badly...
please tell me: what is the "hard counter" to cubelock some people keep talking about? i am currently sitting at rank 2, because as in the last months if you want to go for the last push you'll have to get lucky and find a time where less than half of the players in rank 1 playing cubelock. you need some other decks to gain stars from, because summed up you are not gonna get more from cubelock players than you loose.
but i'm not complaining. there is some really effective rock paper scissors going on in higher ranks, because pala beats everything except cubelock and itself while cubelock beats most of the things, only being weak to decks that instaloose against pala. the meta there regulates itself in favor of cube lock, because >50% of players play pala, so there can not be effective cubelock counters for the ~35% of cubelock players. of course if that is gonna to more cubelock players, pala would be less viable and other decks with better matchups against lock would come. but people are greedy. if they see pala has a 60% wr on average, they play pala. not realizing that the more palas are around the closer their winrates are going to 50% (because mirror and increased cubelock)

That is why a OTK is good for the game. It keeps control in check. Not because control is bad for the game, but if all decks were control deck it would be bad. Aggro keeps the OTK in check, and control at least can be build to counter aggro. You might not like dying to a teir 4 deck, but for the overall meta its actually very important. They should shorten the animations though

It's a bit early to talk about Witchwood right now, so let's talk about Kobolds.
I played Cubelock during the whole expansion and I was consistently losing to : Secret Mage, Exodia Mage, Spiteful Priest, Big Priest, Kingsbane Rogue and sometimes Murlocadin (if they set up a board in 3 turns with crazy murloc synergy, it's too late to do anything because hellfire will not kill 4 HP murlocs).
Shudderwock isnt OP, the animation is broken. If the turns wouldnt last 20 minutes per shudderwock it wasnt the most hated card. People hate it because of the animation, the deck it self is actually quite bad 😂
That's another topic. The animation definitely needs to be fixed.
But a lot of people are crying because they say Shudderwock is too powerful (nerf Shudderwock, or nerf Saronite Chain Gang...)
Hard counter wtf is that supposed to means?? I would juat go and play rock paper scissors instead of hearthstone. Which btw what blizzard is trying to do.

There are ways to defeat Cubelocks.
Your example is from the past & so isn t valid . the fact that u were losing with it is also irrelevant since you have the same point of view of the whiners your talking about ; grow up .

There WERE ways to beat Cubelock, look at the decks that you mentioned a think about which ones are left in Standard... Yes, that's right only Spiteful Priest... :P - I guess Miracle Rogue also does fairly well into Cube, but it needs Saps or an early Edwin... The reality is just that a lot of the decks that beat Cubelock rotated out and Cubelock only lost N'zoth while still getting good stuff from the new expansion. :) (you're right about the fact that Secret Mage absoultely destroyed Cubelock though) :P

Well first up, pretty much most things that run Spellbreaker. It’s about as hard counter to Cubelock that you can get.
And if played right (playing around defile properly etc) then Odd Paladin rinses Warlock. I got legend rank this month almost purely off eating Cubelocks with aggro paladin. Easiest climb I’ve ever had!
The key is to avoid overextension and emptying your hand without a divine favour to fall back on.
Alternatively Priest still has options to deal with Cubelock. Its not as powerful as it was, but steal priest on the voidlords works wonders.
Like C4mlann said yesterday, the reason Cubelock is kinda broken is that it has the strength of a combo deck; beating every other Control deck down with Cubed Doomguards.
While also the strength of a Control deck , aoe , healing etc.
Previous OTK combo have not been nerfed, and most people are okay with them. Why would this one be any different? It's the same mechanic. Gather the multiple pieces you need during the game in order to get a huge burst of damage in one turn.
I'm sorry that you can't see logic into this.

I guess youve never visited the Blizzard forums then. Ahem!
You might be in for a shock. This forum is positively Blizzard-Lovefest 2018 in comparison...

Shudderwock must be changed by a mechanic perspective... 3 minutes turn are boring.
>it's not the first OTK combo so it's ok
what kind of logic is thi?
Say "Wow" for RNG!

I started with Old Gods expansion, in the last two years....
Can't have OTK decks. Not fair!
Can't have decks, where the player plays solitaire, until they get their win condition. Not fair!
Get rid of aggro decks, they are played by bots, and children. Not fair!
Mill decks are the worst thing to happen in the game ever. Not fair!
Two years from now...?
Complaining about the Shudderwock anim time is lile whining that there is no auto squelch for emotes.
If you click away the animations it takes no time at all. But it requires you not to be lazy and be proactive instead.
I beat Cubelocks with Spiteful decks, to get to Legend last month. Answer to Kloklon's question..forgot the quote.
