Hey HearthPwn, I'm just wondering if it's worth getting back into Hearth, I first began playing during the days of Dr. Boom, eventually I just stopped playing due to other games winning me over and being burnt out from playing so long. I believe I stopped playing after the Gadgetzan set released. However I just saw an ad for the new expansion as I was watching YouTube and it really made me want to play again. My question is , is it worth getting back into hearthstone now or not. If it is worth getting back into, should I also pre-order the new set. Thanks.
If your going to come back now is the time with less cards in rotation it’s easier to collect them all. You also get 9 packs (If I remember correctly) for free if you’re a returning player. Preordering is also great way to get back into the game.
yes yes it is (if you asked this question 2 days ago i would have said no but since i tried to go back to tibia last week and was reminded of how an awful spineless p2w model actually is, i'll say Hearthstone is totattly worth getting back into an staying,(like really fuck tibia, you can't even use the auction house to sell things without being a paying user)
Now is the best time than ever because standard cards are the fewest they'll be for the next 2 years so you can jump into the meta and evolve your deck for the next expansions
I would say that Year of the Mammoth (this last year 2017) was the most fun I have ever had in Hearthstone, and I started playing in open beta. Sets are more creative, better single player content (frozen throne and Dungeon runs), and Blizzard has been a lot more generous this last year as well.
So if you want to get back in, now is a great time.
If you want to play standard ladder then Id say wait until blizzard lowers the pack cost or crap legendaries in each expansion. If you start spending now, you are gonna need to spend more and more in order to keep up with the meta in standard ladder. You are gonna need kFT legendaries and some KAC legendaries at least to play ladder, and you stopped playing a long time ago so you wont have those in your collection. All your gold/arena earnings would go towards those packs first and that is a lot of gold AND time. So, id suggest pick another game for the time being.
If you wanna play just for fun, then sure go ahead but dont pre purchase cus you are just playing for fun.
Downsides... you are coming in at a new standard year and all the cards before gadgetzan are going wild. Standard will be an investment to get right into if you want to be competitively.
Upsides... every new expansion has a few weeks of experimentation where you see a wide variety of decks and lots of mistakes being made during plays as people get used to the new meta. You can eek out a lot of wins here.
reminds me of when i watched a trump video of him playing quest shaman vs quest mage in the beginning of ungoro and he traded 25 damage from murlocs into arcanologists, novice engineers and a gnomish inventor, so infuriating
If you are planning on just starting to get into Hearthstone or returning, then now would be the time since 3 sets are rotating out and there would be less cards to have to worry about.

HS is amazing... Go for it! Go WILD!
Everyone who visits this forums is an avid hearthstone enthusiast. I think it would be hypocritical to say don't come back!
Anyway I love the game. F2P and having fun In standard ladder.
Best time for free packs right now.
When the next expansion hits is the best time to get back into the game that you'll get for around a year. :)
