Im having fun with the game right now :) I understand the salt; the meta decks are a pain in the butt, (especially freeze/quest mage & highlander priest, which I wont get into).
Then again, Im only rank 13 (standard and wild). I find joy in the game by throwing decks together and seeing how they perform in ranked play; climbing the ladder and facing jade druid/ aggro druid/ pirate warrior/ highlander priest for hours at a time sounds unappealing to me; god bless all of you who go for it hahaha
And in response to an earlier response: I actually do have 2 home-brewed control decks that I have had a great time playing and refining the past few weeks lol
What does my choice of decks have to do with the matter? If anything, your stereotypical "jade druid cancer player" would be happy with the state of the game right now and try to shut down salty posts because they'll lead to druid nerfs
I'm pretty sure Greenpig is talking about OP, not you. :P

I got a notification "Greenpig replied to your comment on Re: Why all the salt?????", don't worry :P

Oh, sorry dude, I can't believe he is talking about you, LOL. His comment doesn't make any sense. :P
Have you ever been to a card game tournament for games like MTG, Yugioh, ect? You'll witness some of the most saltiest, miserable buggars you will ever see in this life. It's just natural with card game communities. Hearthstone is the same, but here we have the power of interweb anonymity!
I'm all for constructive criticism of the game, it's definitely not perfect (though I still love it). But there are a lot dramatic people who will moan just for the sake of moaning. Normally they have posts in the 1000s. What are they still doing here, if they can't stand playing the game?
All f2p have more or less the same toxic community, that teds to happen. Game lie League of Legends of Team Fortress 2 has horrendous commutities that blame the game is garbage when something comes that they don´t like and that are "Ruining the game".
There are two reasons why I think the Hearthstone community gets so salty, but they both center around its simplicity and accessibility.
Hearthstone is popular. A lot of people play it. There's a phenomenon where everyone in a small town knows each other and is friendly, but when you're in a big city you're constantly bumping into strangers, crowded by strangers in fact, and everyone is irritable. Larger groups bring out worse behaviors, if for no other reason than the fact that the larger a sample size you look at, the more different kinds you'll find.
Hearthstone is easy to pick up and play, drawing in not only literal children but also just general greenhorns to card games. There are many popular but fundamentally WRONG misunderstandings of basic game design and even basic CCG strategy that frankly run rampant in this community, including on this site. Those of us who play other CCGs are pretty much flabbergasted by, just to name one example, the hatred for aggro.
People don't act their best in large groups -- or at least you tend to find more dirtbags in large groups just due to the amount of people you're dealing with -- and people don't act their best when they simply don't understand. That's all it is really.
I get the most salty when I make a risky play and get punished . And second most salty when the opponent just has insane luck and it feels like no matter what I do the RNG already decided to lose me the game .
I don't usually get salty about the meta . I understand people want to play good decks and win and I do the same .
Lol the only thing we see is a livestream every noe and then oh and those ben brode vids but tbh look how jagex is doing there community things every week a livestream and a q&a
As an ex-Jagex-Developer (was there for 6+ years), I could tell you some serious dodgy stuff that goes on over there in regards to player community... lol
as i just said you are the worst roper i have ever seen .... you make your stuff and then wait all the time to rope to the end ... this is just so bm its amazing

If Blizzard listened to everything the community said then this game would be a pile of crap.

I used to share your ideals OP
Then i grew up and realized the human species in its entirety is irreprably flawed.
Question everything.

Mods, thread lock pls to avoid future necro
Better question: Why all the Salt Police?
This is rather old. If you're salty, feel free to discuss in the dedicated salt thread.
Locked.
