I really think the rogue deck, in particular, is overestimated. It's really unpredictable and relies heavily on good draws in the first 3-4 turns. In fact, I lose more often than I win when playing that deck but I'll admit that I'm better at other classes (Shaman, Paladin).
I do fully expect it to be nerfed, but it's worth playing against. I love, love, love to beat it with a handful of murlocs and I've done that quite a few times now.
Aye, I concede against Quest rogues, for example, when they finish on 4 or before. I may wait for a turn, but if I see no potential card can save me, concede. Sometimes against Taunt warriors.
No point losing precious time on a game that's already lost. No hard feelings, but "time is money, friend".

It's not that it's strong, it that if so polarized it gets to the point of no fun. They complete on 4 or before - you lose They complete later - you win That's like 90% of time, for me so far, at least.

I definitely concede more than I did before UnGoro. As early as just not wanting to play the match-up because I'm so damn tired of seeing the same deck over and over, because there's clearly no further point in playing that particular game if it's as good as over, which happens awfully quickly nowadays. As much as I like the diversity that we seem to have now, seems like there's a lot of paper/rock/scissors match ups that there's hardly even any point of playing because there's little hope of interacting in a competitive way with the decks.
I think it depends on the game and why you're playing. If your goal is to climb, and you have any chance of winning, then you will keep playing. If you're at a rank ceiling, just messing around, doing a daily quest, are out of cards, or have lost your win condition, then there is no point continuing. I don't think the latest expansion has changed that.
I play on my phone, and I don't concede anymore. I simply hit the home button and let my opponent finish on their own. That doesn't make any difference because they're already playing an non-interactive game.
this
You guys punish them/us for playing the game the way it was designed?
:-/
That sucks. Let me guess...you never netdeck?
Actually, nevermind. You already know this is a dick move. No need to point it out.
It seems that there is an increase, but probably mostly because of a growing intolerance for decks that people deem to be "cancer". If they don't like the deck they're playing against...they just quit. I see it quite often in Quest Rogue.
In addition, there is a high amount of swings to games now in this meta where they sometimes aren't even close and one or two great combos will sink your opponent to a state that they can't come back from...most people acknowledge it and quit. I've seen this in egg Druid, where the game gets out of hand with 4 buffed minions at turn 3 and the opponent concedes.
Conceding is the best thing you can do to save time and your sanity. Its bad enough to que into some dickhead pirate face deck or quest mage. Why add t your misery by "sticking it out" only to end up losing anyways but now youve also wasted precious moments of your life youll never get back. Que up another game and move on. This game is NOT setup at all for comebacks. Its purely tempo based for the most part and other than some control decks if you lose the board you lost the game. Or, if they hit their quest, youre probably done. In Wild mode you can just concede instantly to renolock and other decks like it that will rob you of a good half hour of your life. Dont be a sucker.
Ill give each game a *chance* but it isnt long before I say "fuck this" and just concede or quit the app altogether. Fuck you and your dooshbag quest. Fuck off with your infinite freeze & ice block. Fuck off with your perfect draw. Im out. If my quitting the app caues you to lose some enjoyment or waste your time then GOOD. We are even then because you playing a fucking jackoff deck caused me to lose enjoyment and waste time. Fair enough.
I dont think your win rate is that affected since conceding allows you to play mor games and and if you stick to more favorable matchups and dont waste time on hopeless games you'll probably climb faster. Ive managed to sit between ranks 5-10 in both game modes using my own decks and I concede early and often. So yeah - concede or quit the app if things arent going well. Easy decision.

I especially feel the same about mages right now.
If I could come up with some way to both waste a half hour of their time AND pull a 30 to 0 when they thought they had it in the bag or that fatigue was on their side then it would be the only deck I would use for a while and i would concede everything that was not a mage and not give two shits about ranks besides grinding to them to get even with mages to begin with. Thief priests after gvg were always the psychopath's favorite class, in Un'Goro mages are the psychopath's class of choice. At least one more year of roping or concede mages mages by turn 4 or 5 sounds like time well spent if i see a lot of them sometimes (which I do as soon as I remove the god damned secret eater).
I agree that there is an increase of conceding, but personally I can't understand it.
As long as there is the theoretical possibility of me winning the game, and be it just the possible highroll from Jeweled Macaw or something, I keep playing. I've lost to insane comebacks and I've won with them, just yesterday I lost to a rogue with Cold Blood + Leeroy in a seemingly won match at Rank 1 - 5 stars.
If you get a bad hand, just keep in mind your opponent might have drawn even worse. Bad luck is a thing everybody can have.
Situations where I concede (early) are almost exclusively when Taunt Warriors have built a nice wall, armored up properly and my hand is empty because it'll just cost both of us time. Except for that I usually only concede early when I have to leave or am in a really bad mood. After all, it is kind of unfair to take the satisfaction to pull of a cool combo from your opponent.
It is just a game, why shouldn't both players have fun?
Worse than conceding is roping every turn in my opinion, this is just rude.
I just keep thinking...the great players didn't get that way by conceding every tough match. Every one of these decks is beatable. If you want to know how, figure it out. Build a deck that is teched to beat the competition. Enjoy the satisfaction of knowing you're smarter than them.
Or wait for others to do it for you and then complain about their unbeatable decks. While netdecking.
With the new 3 Expansions per year model i take a more business oriented approach on playing. I try to min/max my gold per hour. When i can not see a good reason to waste 30 minutes on a rope frost mage i will concede once i feel the game is not in my favour.
I always concede instantly vs quest rogue because I know I have a 100% loss rate against it.
I feel you on this. Had to roll a murloc paladin just to consistently beat this deck.
I play a murloc Paladin as well, and I am surprised people are bitching about the ladder being full of aggro paladins after months and months of bitching about paladins being unusable. But yeah, it's because murloc paladins (and shamans) crush quest rogues and quest mages pretty consistently. And honestly, murlocs were pretty reliable in the last meta too, they just weren't hot for some reason.

Premature Capitulation is a common problem especially among young men, see your doctor if symptoms persist, don't suffer in silence.
I concede when I know ive lost. And for many decks thats decided on turn 4-6, so why bother play 5-10min more than needed

Coined a doomsayer v aggro druid, he instaconceded turn 2 so yeah i feel like the prematures has gone up actually!
Probably because the aggro players like the druid here that just wants a short game!

Sometimes i concede against aggro decks or quest rogue because i simply can't be bothered, but that usually happens at the start of the game

I concede because I don't need to watch the quest rogue bounce a boar 3 times into my face. Its obnoxious.

I instaconcede vs a deck that's horrible to play against.
Like Pirate Warrior
Like Quest Rogue
Like Quest Warrior
Like Silence Priest
Like ...
I can't remember when was the last time I've actually "killed" an opponent or got "killed" by an opponent.
Waste of time.
I always concede instantly vs quest rogue because I know I have a 100% loss rate against it.
