Emperor isn't the Loatheb/Barnes star card of a random expansion. No way.
By retiring Thaurissan you are killing combo decks. It's like if all the aggro decks may have Leeroy as finisher and without him they are nothing. It's probably the only card I would introduce in standard if I could because combo decks MAY EXIST (although casual players of curvestone can't see it).
There is one thing that I would like to mention regarding the second poll option.
Some of you might not be aware of this but freeze mage had existed WAAAAAAY before Blackrock Mountain came out back then it had preformed well. Freeze mage won't disappear from standard just because Emperor is gone.
I would also point out that although freeze mage performed fine back then, it was no where near the power level of the decks that are out now. So, yes I believe Freeze Mage will find a way to survive, but in no means is it as powerful.
The poll option was just to add flavor to the option, but apparently everyone on this forum is anti-fun.
Let it drop to Wild. It is simply right. Wishing for it to stay is wishing the Standard mode to become unhealthy, polluted with exceptions.
Too many just think of standard as an easier mode where annoying cards, owned only by veteran players, are periodically cleared out. That's NOT Standard Mode. This is what Standard actually is: a continuously changing mode, where new archetypes evolve and others die (to return later on, maybe). NOTHING is eternal in Standard.
Don't you like that kind of cycling? Do you prefer "eternally available options"? Then Wild is your place.
Can't have (subjective) pros of both modes and (subjective) cons of none.
i don't think freeze mage will be dead after thaurissan will rotate out, in a lot of matchups you don't even need him and in the OTK matchups you can sub him for a sorceres apprentice for example...it's worse of course but imo freeze mage will still be around after next rotation
Seems like you played a lot of freeze mage LUL
Why almost everybody in this forum speaks like they are all super pros and prob only use to play the mid shaman/palasecrets/OP deck in the moment...
I think Emperor has some value to the game that isnt purely for combo and OTK decks. I wouldn't mind seeing it moved to evergreen, freeze mage doesnt actually need it, combo warlock isnt popular and they already killed combo worgen warrior and old patron.
I would much rather see Reno Jackson moved to the evergreen set since he creates a unique archetype that lots of people, myself included, find fun to play and it isnt crushing the meta. I personally play a lot of reno control rogue, and without any real aoe or class healing, the deck would be entirely unplayable. Hell, without Reno, there are a lot of cards I use in my mage and rogue decks that very likely would never see play

So yes, of course I want Thaurissan forever.

Good riddance.
freeze Mage is about as fun to play against as face hunter in its prime
People who refuses to play aggro out of principle are even worse than people who play exclusively aggro.
One should seek to become a complete player and play all archetypes, including ones that he despises for whatever irrational reasons.
...There is just no way that happens...
(It happens)
The card provides an interesting and unique effect that opens up new deck building possibilities, and therefor it should rotate out.

There is already a thread about this topic, you can continue discussing there: http://www.hearthpwn.com/forums/hearthstone-general/card-discussion/174339-emperor-thaurissan-should-be-a-classic-card
