I've been playing this game for over a year now and I've only ever gotten one legendary card. So many packs have been opened and they always contain a rare or 2 and commons (rarely a epic). So is there anything I can do to maybe get more legendary cards because it's not working out for me with card packs and my dust seems to always be scarce?
Buy 40 of the same set (doesn't have to be same session) there is a pity timer where if you open 39 of say GVG with no legendary, the 40th 1 has 100% chance of having at least 1 legendary

ok I dont know how many packs you oppened, but for a guy who played HS for over a year already, 1 legendary is really really really bad. Sorry to hear that.
Well at least I get C'thun for free. But yes I will keep going with buying packs saying all I've gotten is Edwin Van Cleef who would be amazing if I played rouge.
I normally open only packs from the same set until I find a legendary. I do this because it resets the pity timer and I can try in another set.
But in the end it depends on your luck. I got 3 legendary in the first week of February (Velen, Grommash and Millhouse) and a King Mukla in the second week and never got more legendary cards since them.
You should average 1 legendary every 20 packs, and get at least one every 40 packs of one type.
You should also be able to average about one pack every 2 days just from daily quests, at the very least. More if you work towards the daily 100 gold for 30 wins or if you are good at arena.
In one year, that's easily 180 packs or 9 legendaries (ignoring gold spent on adventures, brawl packs and spectator quests).
You claim you opened a lot of packs, but looks like you didn't.
By the way, there's about a 60% of a 40 dust pack, so yes, you'll get them a lot. However, if you were to open a lot of packs and dust everything, including goldens, epics and legendaries, the average is 100 dust.
Thanks to all your suggestions and my perseverance I opened a legendary today who you all know as Nexus Champion Saraad. So thank you all for you hints and tips.
What do you all think about me getting my first adventure now that I got a legendary?
Go for it! Idk if you've unlocked more expensive quests yet(60 & 100g) but if you have unlocked them and keep rerolling 40g just play in a way so as not to complete 40g quests and bear in mind that if you accidentally fill up all your quests, like for example, not finishing a 60g quest by midnight, and you now finished it the next day, and you still have 2 40 g quests, DON'T REROLL THAT DAY! just do 1 of the 40g quests and then the next day you will get 2 quests if you didn't reroll that day. that's how you can maximize your gold intake.
or just spend money. they always give great deals on adventures.

Sounds good seems like I will be getting LoE after I looked at the cards.
There is a pity timer on Legendary and Epic cards. 20 packs for Epic and 40 for Legendary. This works by pack specifics. I only open Classic packs because you get those from quests, Tavern Brawls and other ways so they stack up quickly. You can only use the pity timer by opening the same packs. If you switch from Classic to TGT it will reset the timer. The best time to switch which type of pack you're opening is after you get a legendary.
Everytime you open a pack it increases the chance you get a legendary with the next pack OF THE SAME TYPE. So in other words. Only open one type of pack until you get a legendary. Classic is the easiest to accumulate, so only open Classic packs.
I would like to add that people here who have claimed that switching pack types doesn't effect your chances, well it does. It resets the pity timer. This is actually why some people open up so many packs and never get a legendary. It is actually possible that the chances of getting a legendary from your first pack of any kind could be very low and therefore it's possible to open packs endlessly and never get a legendary if you are swapping types often. Taking a break, like even a few months, does not. So take your time but DO open only one kind of pack until you get a Legendary and then switch.

It does NOT reset the pity timer!
What happens is that there's a SEPARATE pity timer for each set. Thus if you open 20 packs of GvG and 20 packs of Classic, both sets will be at 20/40 and not have their timers 'triggered' yet. But they WILL remember.
So if you manage to open 38 Classic packs without a Legendary , then do nothing but GvG for a year, even if you found every legnedary in the set, you'll still get a legendary the next classic pack you open. Note that each server is also a set of separate pity timers.
Opening a legendary resets the timer (IIRC it has to be a normal legendary: Golden legendaries get their own pity timer, though not 100% on that one). That's it.
Note that no one knew this thing existed during hte time of the last expansion, so NOTHING that was done then have anything to do with the pity timer. The only reason why they opened just one pack type is because they bought it with cash and you get a discount for buying the same set in bulk hwen it's case and, typically, it's for the most current expansion which they want to stock up on.

for every 40 packs opened (regardless of method) from the same series you are guaranteed a legendary. So keep trying :3

There's no doubt that the pitty timer exists, so you probably oppened like some, for example: 10-39, of each type. Focus on one pack-type at a time.
I've been playing for 2 weeks and I got one in my 5th pack.
