For some reason I really like this minion. Don't worry you lil bud, mogor will teach you how to go face.
The likelihood of that happening is 0,1%.
TGT is shaping up to be the worst thing Blizzard has done for Hearthstone.. no Tournament mode, no extra deck slots and 90% of the cards released so far are either for gimmick decks or are just plain bad..
nope.. with 1 minion on board it's 50% ;)
Buhu they don't release all game modes, gimmiks, classes etc at once, those lazy bastards and moreover they don't even create power creep cards. They actually release balanced cards which make us think about new decks instead of giving us op cards which are just auto-includes in everything.. Really, WTF BLIZZARD?

Who can take your trash out? Stomp it down for you? Shake the plastic bag and do the twisty thingy, too?
Worst thing about this card is that it doesn't even have anything to do with the boss fight mechanics from ToC. Flavour fail.
Wut? His signature ability in ToC is "Charge", and it doesn't really hit any players because you are supposed to step aside, hence "Can't attack heroes."
wow another idiot card by blizz. If you're going to make this a board control card, at least make it more interesting like giving it freeze....or freeze adjacent minions....SOMETHING...this is just plain boring legendary and also overcosted because it cannot attack hero.
Definitely an arena beast. But I also think you'll see it every now and then in constructed. Until someone comes up with something totally sick, or everyone realizes that it's trash :-)
Quite a few ppl thinks that this is an awesome arena card, but to be honest it has exactly the same problems in arena as it has in constructed. Iv wrote about this card in the other thread about arena so im just gona repost it here:
Icehowl (tier 4): the stats r good, charge is good, so yes, in theory this card should trade 1 for 2 or even more, BUT ... there is a huge but, it takes your entire turn and u might as well be forced to trade into like 3/2, cause your opponent has 4x 3/2 on board, so for 9 mana u get to kill one of 3/2s and thats all u did. It costs way to much for me to be interesting in arena, King Krush can at least act as a pyroblast and he isnt valued very higly in arena and bonus 2/2 stats on this guy is not that much of a difference vs Krush, so i say pick this if rest suck, but dont think about this as some uber legendary, that will win u games.
My first instinct was that the card is awful - but I'm softening that viewpoint a bit. Mostly because it does impact the board the turn it's played - something we always want in a big drop.
Vs an Ancient of Lore/War he clears it and leaves a 10/5 body to worry about.
Played with Aviana on 10 mana, he costs 1 mana and gives two significant worries while clearing off a big threat.
In an extreme late game pally, you could get gimmicky and put hand of protection on him.
In an Astral Communion deck, he'd hold down the fort for a while if you top deck him.
In priest, you can charge him out, clear a big minion and heal him up for more next turn.
Very very slow card, and not too exciting, but I'll hold my judgment. I think druid decks hold the best chance for making use of him.
Turn 9 (maybe even earlier) this, make some nice trade. Turn 10 if possible another trade then Recombulator for a Ysera, Malygos, Mal'Ganis, even King Krush ..
It isn't very appealing, but can be used within Recombulator decks (they see some play in Druid and Priest already, right?) for budgets sake.
how running freaking legendary for rare/epic card gimmick is a budget? High budget ? lol.
New or F2P players may get this in a pack, man. As a heavy drop it may see play for this reason alone, as it isn't very wise to disenchant any legendary unless you are missing exactly 400 dust for another one.
Icehowl more like niceowl! I like it. It's a pure board control minion. Not sure how good it is though.
Yes board control turn 9 sounds amazing...
Maybe only ramp Druid could get an earlier benefit from it but it will be useless against aggro and it doesn't help against control as others have stated.
I actually like the Priest "Use this on medium sized minions before mind controlling" or Shaman "Ancestral Healing after taking down a big minion" ideas. Of course, this still seems like a Druid card for me. Provides hard removal for things like Chrommagus, KT, Rag; and synergizes with Aviana well.
Now for a dream scenario that'll never happen except in Trolden videos.
Turn 10 Aviana, Innervate, Icehowl, Faceless, Faceless; kill 3 high impact monsters to claim board control.
Turn 11, Tree of Life (for maximum BM), Wailing Souls and go Face for 35.
Gah, frustrating. A bad legendary to clog up the chances of getting a useful one. (smash screen when opening this in a pack... GAH 20 MORE PACKS TILL MY NEXT LEGENDARY!)

Wait so this is a 9 mana ancient watcher on empty board, or a 9 mana BGH on full board ?
Value.

I think i would not even play this at 5 mana. Maybe 4...

Its interesting removal. Take down Dr. Boom with it. But then you are just left with 3 health left.
Sure, you can also Bestial Wrath a King Krush, OP OP OP
I'm really not sure folks here understand the meaning of "board control."
But then again, face huntard is popular for a reason. It requires absolutely no use of brain cells. :<
Understanding this card is terrible for board control requires brain cells use indeed
This seems like a card they created to see whether 'not able to SMOrc' would work on cards this big.
Obviously, they will learn from this minion and make better cards in the future, so you have to forgive them somewhat.
Give a man a Murloc, and he'll eat for a day.
Give him a Murloc Knight, and people will hate him.

Any other questions, sir?

No Smorc, powder -q.

It's a Kel'Thuzad counter!!! We all know Aviana combos are coming.
Sorry guys but I honestly don't know what SMORC means :P. Help please?
Current decks: Handlock, Ramp Druid, Control Warrior. My goal: 12 arena wins, beat all da Hunterz. Longtime magic player.
