I don't know why people expect more out of its base damage and health. Making it a 4/5 would mean it is strictly better than Yeti. This is a 4/4 on turn 4 with easy 5/5 potential on turn 5, which can fight things like shredders
Funny how every card posted is half "this card sucks!" and half "No, it doesn't." bottom line is nobody is going to know until they get their hands on it.
That's not true at all and its been proven with every content release that the minority of intelligent players are able to very accurately assess cards pre-release and we get better at doing it with every new block of content. This card is far too ineffectual and will not be seen beyond the first couple weeks.
Take a look at MTG which has been around for way longer. There are still cards that seem bad and are overlooked but surprise everyone by creating new archetypes and play styles. Multiple times I have seen pro MTG players say a card is not good and it becomes a staple of the meta. I am not saying this card is going to be amazing and change everything, I am just saying even the best, most analytical players can be wrong about cards. Dr. Boom is a great example of this.
This is all completely irrelevant because MTG is just an insane magnitude deeper than Hearthstone. On a mathematical level, Hearthstone is ludicrously simple when compared to Magic. The ceiling is SO much lower in this game due to the way its designed. We have Hearthstone figured out practically entirely until some new global mechanic is implemented.
Also Booms capability was pretty split amongst good players so it wasn't like it was completely overlooked. Grim Patron is actually a better example but even that slipped in to an already viable deck Math Warrior.
This isn't a card you build your deck around, but if it synergizes with the cards that are in your deck it is a strong contender for the 4 slot, especially since Grand Tournament has added some 2 drops you probably don't want to get out of a piloted shredder.
An okay card. Good in arena and would probably see play in some decks if it were not for Piloted Shredder. Blizzard I'm liking some of these cards like the 4 drop for Druid. I would like to play them in constructed but they just don't stand up to Piloted Shredder, perhaps if you can find a way around this and give me a chance to play those other awesome 4 drops.
Now that Blizz revealed the Jousters at Gamescom, we can see why this card is desperately trying to exist and make a battlecry deck happen.

I see a lot of potential in the right decks. Even with 1 Battlecry drop each turn, it can keep up in the late game. 5/5 on Turn 5, and being ready to attack, will help deal with the wave of 5 Health 5-drops that just keep on coming. 6/6 on Turn 6, 7/7 on Turn 7, and 8/8 on Turn 8 isn't bad by any means. Shredder has made it so any 4-drop that can't replace itself or doesn't come broken as hell is viewed inferior pretty quickly, but I'm more than willing to give a shot to a minion with solid stats that can keep up with the curve.
Maybe this could fit into the new battlecry shaman archetype, with Rumbling Elemental?
Sounds great on paper but both take the 4 mana slot and require an entire deck of synergy to work. We'd need way better 1 or 2 drop battle cries to be worth it. (Flame Juggler and Elven Archer don't cut it yet). You still need to play 2 cards with crowd favorite to get loatheb body/ yeti with 1 attack boost making crowd favorite really a 5 mana 5/5 in best case scenario that needs 2 cards to combo. If you plan to play a string of battle cry cards you're better off playing the cheaper and easier to grow with cheap spells questing adventurer or Van Cleef in rogue as both cost 3 and grow arguably faster.
Finally the nail in the cofin, piltoed shredder is better than this card hands down. Shredder wins the trade, is more mana efficient and gets a 2 drop, has a mech tag and trades up better. Shredder doesn't require synergy to be good but has better synergizing cards for it (power mace, mech warper) rather than sub par cheap battle cry minions.
Maybe, just maybe when 0 cost battle cry minions or good 1 drop battle cry minions (such as a 1 drop with conceal effect) come out crowd favorite will have a place.

i was replying to a comment someone made which said "4/4 for 4 is pretty good."

I think there is a bug, the gem in the middle of that card appears purple. Surely it is a mistake. It clearly should be blue.
Very underwhelming.

As a paladin I will take him over shredder.
That seems like a pretty awful decision.
if there is ever a midrange "goodstuff" kind of deck, this could be in it.
No, that s not a card I will ever play. I hope.
SMOrc
I think it's best played with big battlecry minions like crusher and kraken.
