I play him sometimes, hes actually not bad at all if the deck is built done right.
I used him with great success in a Priest deck, got to rank 4 with it and had a blast. Paladins don't have too many 1 mana spells so your kinda locked into making a MechPaladin for spare parts.
I would say hes worth keeping, or atleast try it out some, he is definitely fun to play with.
Also, No... I would advise against dusting, the loss is just too huge (especially with a legendary that isn't awful). It's nice getting useful legendaries and if there becomes a new deck that uses him and is super fun / strong, you will be kicking yourself. Theres just no real reason to dust a legendary, the loss is too great and you may want it in the future.
He's not a Dr. Boom for sure, but hes also not a Lorewalker Cho >.>

Totally agree with what you said and my advice is the same, don't DE Gazlowe. I've got it also from a free pack and I had a lot of fun games with it. Is not tier 1 leg but it can give you some sweet moments. 400 dust is not worth it.
A good example of GvGs wasted legendaries. Maybe you can make him be "ok" once in a while but 99/100 you are better off with classic or Naxx legendaries in his place, or now BRM.
GvG was a pretty disappointing expansion really. Barely anyone but Mage makes use of mech synergy and almost all of the legendaries are trash besides Dr Boom which is imbalanced and strictly better than a pre-existing card. Slow clap for GvG, Naxx (with the exception Undertaker) and BRM are much much better imo.
I hope we don't get another 6 Gazlowes in the next expansion.
I've played him in shaman deck with frostshock, which is hilarious in its own right. Your opponent will give you an epic side-eye when you play frostshock, but I did have it win some games. Think he'd also be solid in mechmage, which I've never tried.
I haven't tried him in Paladin though, but he also works great in a mech mage too, especially if you're missing Antonidas.
Hes also synergizes well in Priest because you can put in Inner Fire to combine with Power Word: Shield. It can also be used on cards like Injured Blademaster, Northshire Cleric for extra damage. So depending on who you use Inner Fire on you basically get a +2-4 attack buff and a mech from Gazlowe. (I know 90% of the time Inner Fire is crap, but it can be absolutely amazing in a deck that has minions with a higher health)

Question: If you're in a canoe, paddling upstream, and all four wheels fall off, how many pancakes does it take to sand the doghouse if there's 28 frogs in the oven?
I've played Gazlowe extensively in both Mech Mage and Priest and unfortunately he's not that great. Sometimes you get great mechs like Foe Reaper. Sometimes you get junk like Alarm-O-Bot. The main issue is having the turns and the mana to make use of them. His stats are really bad for the 6 mana cost.
He's basically a 7 mana 3/6 that plays a spare part and draws you a random mech. And that's not a strong turn.
However, I would not disenchant. Not worth the 400 dust. And he's fun to put in a casual deck and goof around with.
Gazlowe was the first GvG Legendary I made. I had a fun combo deck that utilized him, but the combo involves so many cards, it was hard to get off reliably.
I still have the deck, but the combo doesn't happen as often as I'd like, and so when I play it, it's played pretty much as a mech deck with a dumb gimmick thrown in.
i love playing Gazlowe in HOTS why i kept mine for that feeling he is good in some deck i play him in spare part heavy discard zoo, secret shockadin , spell heavy mech mage and even in a mech shaman if im bored :)
I ran him in a MechMage deck with Antonidas for quite awhile, and although fun, the card just generally lacks impact. At 6 mana, he's expensive card, and he lacks any immediate impact. Running Sylvanas or Sky Golem makes more sense, since they have immediate impact and are bigger threats. Gazlowe is bad if you don't have board control, and not entirely great when you do have it. He relies on spare parts, but finding the available mana to do that can be tough, and it competes against Antonidas.
He shines in top decking matches or late game with small hands/draws. Found him useful in mirror matches/against Priest/Warrior.
He's not a bad card, he just isn't an optimal card choice given the competiton.
i tried to run him in mech paladin ... hes definitely fun to use, and can possibly be viable. his mana cost is a little high but since paladin has a habit of going into the late game he can be used more efficiently. ive used him in combination with redemption or noble sac for 1 mana secrets, other than that you need to rely on spare parts from mech yeti/tinkertown.. i also ran a cobalt guardian or two in this deck as well, and that was it as far as legendaries, it was more of a lower cost mid range deck that focused on efficient trading through use of divine shields/secrets, coghammers etc... paladin i believe has the most 1 mana cards available betwen the blessing of wisdom, blessing of might, hand of protection, all 5 secrets, and humility.
Gazlowe is cool, super fun and kinda underrated IMO. Other than my fun decks, I used him in my Control Warrior with Whirlwinds, Shield Slams and Executes. It's pretty useful against control too (card advantage!).
I put him in a Priest mech deck, which I found the most effective because a) Priest has many 1-cost spells and b) the mech deck gives you many spare parts that also count as 1-cost spells! It's lost of fun, especially in casual mode. :)

Just got Gazlowe from a pack today. I made a mechadin deck to try and put him to good use, but to no avail.
Any way to make him non-trash or should I just consider him 1/4th of a good legendary?
Have a great deck that's really, really cheap? Help the new players out

It comes down to two things that fluctuates over time or per expansion.
1) The amount of 1-mana spells available to your selected hero.
2) Whether it's valuable to have that amount of 1-mana spells in your deck.
In other words, the deck should work with our without Gazlowe. It shouldn't be the primary card of your deck as then you must rely on 1-mana spells.
Keep him, he may be much better over time.
Well I don't generally think Mech Mage is okay but I made one just to put this guy in it. Gotta get that value somehow.

Rogue might work with him, Cold Blood, Conceal, maybe even Sinister Strike. Also, anybody know if Gazlowe triggers on a 4-cost spell with Preparation in front?

Answer: I have no time for games!

Wild Pyromancer + Mark of Nature with Mech-Bear-Cat. You'd get a bunch of Spare Parts, usually clear the board, and if you have Gazlowe in play as well, then a bunch of random mechs in your hand.
I still have the deck, but the combo doesn't happen as often as I'd like, and so when I play it, it's played pretty much as a mech deck with a dumb gimmick thrown in.
Not very playable right now, but is one of those cards that gets better as more cards become released. Might be a nice finisher many moons from now.
I returned to this game much like how a recovering alcoholic can relapse.
He's fun, unique, and as others have said, will only get better over time. I definitely wouldn't dust him.

YES?

all your base.

^He actually can be fairly viable with Paladin; buffed up with those 1-cost secrets to keep him alive, I would actually say he's considerable.
Just have to find a way to get him into the swing of BRM really.
I put him in a Priest mech deck, which I found the most effective because a) Priest has many 1-cost spells and b) the mech deck gives you many spare parts that also count as 1-cost spells! It's lost of fun, especially in casual mode. :)
