I wonder how much use this would have in a druid deck... if you can ramp him out really early and your opponent doesn't have an answer it seems like you could exert staggering board control by using this guy to kill people's usual early game 1-2 mana drops. Wouldn't be hard to keep a few on the board even if you lose 1-2 by trading.
Enrage decks don't work. This looks like an attempt to make them viable, but I'm still not convinced. The stats are rather terrible, 3 health dies to pretty much anything, 3 damage trades with pretty much nothing at 5 mana. You need to invest additional resources to get any value from this card and still a return in a form of a 3/3 is rather questionable. Only obvious play on curve is turn 4: Deathsbite => hit; turn 5: play this => hit => get 3/2 + 3/3 for 5 mana. Looks fun, but there are way better combo cards that don't see any play.
Bunch of 3/1 and hopefully a clear board on the other side all for the discount price of 3 cards and 10 mana ;) Trouble is that in the current meta all 3 cards are considered terrible. Secondly this combo will do less the less your opponent has on board, and more the more your opponent has on board, but never more than 18 damage and usually less.
Probably some great Trolden-style highlights with this card...but actual competitive/consistent combos? Probably not. Just a fun gimmicky card and not much else. Put it on the same level as Mind Games and other potentionally-game-winning-but-usually-god-awful-cards.
I rly like him, and wil def try him in control warrior in x1
no gimmicky combo tries, I just feel like it fits perfectly in the curve after a deathbite, making the deck overall more consistent.
if you go first and play it turn 5, it might get insta removed. GREAT! my shieldmaiden is safer now. If the answer is a sludge, cruel taskmaster on it will kill the 3/5 body, leaving a 1/2 the guy has to sacrifice in my cruel taskmaster, or my new 3/3 will just kill it.
of course it dies to fiery war axe or darkbomb, but lots of cards are like this. His value is to me that you have to remove it the turn it is played, or the warrior can easily do shenaningans with it without hurting his plays.
Also, in a "topdeck war" where nobody has a board, but only draws 1 card and hero power, like it happens often, this can be godly: the opponent is now denied from play 2 or less attack minions, unless it sacrifices his last removal.
I feel like this card can totally see the play in warrior, in x1 for now. After all, mad bomber and heal bot are 3/3 for 5. They have immediate effect yes, but this one too in a way: remove me or I spawn more of me, that spawns more of them, etc.
I don't see any mention on the Unstable Ghoul, Death's Bite and Sword of Justice synergy yet..... don't forget that you can set the synergy on the previous turns, you don't have to wait for T6+.
Death's Bite -> next turn this card+Whirlwind seems a good choice, maybe a surviving warsong commander helps but I think that this combo is too fragile

It might have a place in an enrage deck (if by enrage deck you mean worgen combo deck) - but I don't think that's the main place it'll end up. I think it'll see more use in the math/swarm warrior (since it's a single card that can potentially rebuild your entire board presence on its own).
It only goes off when hit by spells of less than 3 damage. It's most efficient when you can damage him yourself instead of relying on opponent hitting him with a fan of knives or something, because no one is dumb enough to hit it with a spell without killing it. If you drop it on turn 5 without supprting minions, well most 4 or 5-drops can deal with a 3 toughness minion no problem.
GP is not OP. At 5 mana it's actually a bad gamble/gimmick. However I would like some more early game cards because with boom rag and all the shredders flooding the meta the rush/mid-range game has pretty much disappeared

It's really gimmicky.
Say if you have 2 one damage AoE, you will get a 3/1, 1 3/2 and 2 3/3, which is not bad but you're also spending 3 cards to get that.
Among current deck archetypes, I think Grim Patron may find a place in a Priest deck. Velen's Chosen synergize pretty well with it. You can kill an enemy minion with 5/7 stats and gets a 3/3. There are also potentials for combos like Grim Patron,Wild Pyromancer, Power Word: Shield, Power Word: Shield,Circle of Healing and now you've a full board of Grim Patron. But all of Grim Patron dies easily to an AoE and you just spent like 5 cards. Besides, current Priest list is pretty packed anyway.
Ugh..I doubt we'll see this guy in play. The risk vs reward is just not there.
Meta changes the moment you switch your deck.

Warsong Commander + Grim Patron + Commanding Shout = ??

Imagine both sides having a knife juggler and this. Juggle, hits patron, causes a juggle, hits your patron, ... mayhem!

Hopefully this is a sign that Warsong will get fixed. I want my math warrior back. It's been 3 months with the bug.
I agree with most posts. Warrior or Wild Pyro deck types mostly.
~maybe a crazy lock tosses 2xmortal coil at it?!?!?
Insane!
Many people seem to have caught the Wild Pyromancer and Bouncing Blade synergy, cool.

Grim parton + Commanding Shout + [card]Bouncing Blade [/card] on a clear board. kappa
Interesting anti-control card; depends which way the meta goes as to whether it'll see play.
Without a 3+ DMG AoE in hand as an immediate answer, I can see this card being an immediate game ender.
Spell damage might become more important.

I have actually fit this card in a decent theorycraft deck, check it out!

Can it be Ancient Watcher ? Doesn't quite fit though :\
