Can we talk about what title says? I find watchposts amazing against current meta. Specially the [card]Crossroads Watch Post[/card], it's amazing against all the dominant decks out there like mage, paladin and rogue. If they dont remove it and you hide it behind taunt then its usually GG for them and forces really akward plays. Im currently playith with N'zoth Priest with Watchposts and Kargal and its awesome. I was also testing it out in rogue with some success but it doesnt feel as good as in priest. My current deck http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/1385040-menagerie-watchpost-priest-good-against-current
What is interesting it seems that evryone was saying that the highest cost Post will be worst while it seems to be the oposite. The 3 mana one seems less powerful at the moment with not so many minion based decks and 2 mana one is really good but not as oppresive or hard to remove as the 4 mana one.
Do you have any succsess with watch posts? If so then in what decks are you using them? Which ones feel the most powerful when played?
As a mage player, watch posts don't bother me in the slightest. Incanter's flow pretty much negates the cost increase post and the minion one.... Sometimes I'll deliberately process as many of the 2/2s as I can of I have Rancour in hand. If I've already played lunacy then I'm still getting a one discount on spells even if you have two posts up.
In a board centric, minion heavy meta or against classes like that though, yeah I can imagine them being powerful. They've done me over once or twice with the guy that summons the 5/5s but the posts themselves? Meh.
I haven't had much luck with the 4 mana post, and have not seen it be particularly successful against me the few times I've faced it.
The 2 and 3 mana posts, though.... I got straight locked down by a Paladin the other day running them and Rally to rez them. In the right build, they are pretty damn good.
I have toy with the watchpost a lot since I got the seven mana legendary. However, they seems to be a mixed bag. The three type of watchpost target a very different type of deck.
Other than two mana post, other two watchpost seem to be very hit or miss.
3 mana post are useless toward priest, mage and lock since they got ton of removal and play not much minion.
The buffing epic post is 100% the worst one since it is a win more and require that you have a board.
They are also very passive reactive play since the tower themself can't attack. I believe that watchpost are blizzard's tool to slow/counter aggro/zoo/swamp deck.
However, in the a meta where spell/dol mage dominated, the watch post is terrible since its passive nature of it will allow them to set up DoL/flow and kill you in 2-3 turn.
Even the 7 mana legendary paid-off with 5 5/5 just get blow up by one easy 5 mana flamestrike.
After things settle down Far Watch Post will probably dominate since it can be used in control to disrupt the tempo of aggro decks and in aggro to stall control decks.

I love you Dreadsteed, I will never disenchant you!
I'll bump this thread to show some watch post love in hopes Blizz reverts the nerfs one day.
They were really cool, fun and unique cards which didn't have enough time to shine IMO
Very much agree. They created interesting board states and decisions based on the current moment of the game and the value/risk/reward in trading/using removal against them. They were viable defensive tools that were neutral! I'd have them back in a heartbeat, even in the paladin heavy meta, playing against a watchpost paladin was interesting...dynamic. What we're left with is the randomness of oh my yogg every match...it can be fun in the way RNG is, but it's not the same.
Blizzard went way too early with the watchpost nerf, and too hard. Instead we're left with a lot of paladins that just aim to kill you on turn 5 or 6, instead of a cool midrange meta. The lunacy nerf had to happen, that card was stupid as hell IMO. But I want to see the game with posts driving the meta.

When the cards first launched I thought coining something so disruptive out on turn 1 was extremely problematic but I also acknowledged that things would even out eventually. I don't think the cards were in any way unfair as you're asking a player to sacrifice board presence and attack potential in favor of hindering your opponent. The 4 health minion was strong but people were slowly figuring out strategies to play around them.
I just think Blizz nerfing them was too much of a knee jerk reaction as the cards should have been given more time to breath.
Agree that they did not need to be nerfed. People were just too focused on killing them when they didn't always need to be killed. Especially with the Far Watch Post, the way to play around it is often to ignore it until it's convenient and cheap to deal with it. Don't waste a bunch of resources on something that's not really hurting you that much.

Yes, Crossroads Watch Post is so good and most people don't realise it! A lot of opponents don't know how to deal with it and misplay. I have one in my Priest deck and feels so good to use a randomly generated Gift of Luminance on it.

I've wondered if that card has any place in a Rush Warrior build. The board can get fairly wide when you get playmaker involved.

The real kicker here is that it buffs itself as well. Minion-heavy deck could be running this, like warrior, problem is loss of tempo but if they have a board already dropping this could be game over (it's what happened to me in one of my games).
