So many Mecha'thun snowflakes twiggered because their pwecious deck can be shut down now.
I think this "discussion" is directed towards Standard where Tickatus is more rampant and hurtful to the meta. I mostly play Wild and have yet to run into a deck with Tickatus. There are bigger shiny new toys to play with.
I was against change tickatus, but after a few games in wild I have to say - He's really bad designed. I was wrong. Hearthstone is too straight build around to have this card going on, even if Reno decks are really stupid to play against. Another effect would be nice - somethin like Put 5 demons 1/1 on enemys deck
There are countless threads here, from the beginning of HS on, where hundreds of your customers have said that it is NOT cool when their cards are burned by the dozens (exaggerating a little* bit).
Rat? Ok, fine. They can do the trick a couple of times with back to hand mechanics or the likes of S-Wock. There obviously is plenty of time for counterplay.
Gnomeferatu in combination with Glinda and/ or summoning Portal? More than fine, it is actually quite an accomplishment if the oppo pulls that off.
Turn 8 Tickatus, followed by T10 Y'Shaarj and then maybe a third copy from demonic studies? This is Not an unlikely scenario.
Just a question for all y'all: How many of your games against Tickatus have you ended with cards still in your deck? Or: What if you play it, how many games ended with opponents with cards still in their deck?
Unless you're playing a combo deck, 5 specific cards generally shouldn't matter as they could as well be the bottom 5 cards in the deck and you wouldn't have drawn them anyway.
True... It's nice to have a card that really gives combo players the finger, but slow control decks are already having problems enough as it is (it seems at least) and they are actually cool and fun decks to play with and against.
Gr8 post Ur Pers Guru.
Slow control decks ARE already having problems enough and they Are cool and fun decks to play with and against. A bit more cool to play vs than for example soul dh / face hunter a.k.a. Hit em in the face, perhaps?
The card is broken the entire dev team should be fired I think the game was better before jade Druid and all the broken nonsense cards
Yeah ethana..........
Except for the fact that if all cards would have stayed more or less the same as before Jade Drood, HS'd died long ago.
We all are only here and stay here if cool new stuff is printed on a regular basis, right :P ? Same ol' same ol'? Nah, that doesn't really cut it after..... 6 and a half year (!) , in an ever increasing competitive digital-CCG environment.

Cookie, I am a big sucker for Reno decks in wild...
I end up in fatigue with the Lock having 5-10 cards left (vs the Tick-archetype, goes without saying).
Yeah Tickatus completely warps the meta, In all of my control decks I have Archivist Elysiana and hope to draw it before it gets milled or keep it in the opening hand whenever I face Warlock. Now imagine if Zoo becomes more popular (surprised it hasn't so far) then it'll be a coin flip to what you should mulligan against a Warlock. I am one that has a sort of love-hate relationship with Aggro decks, but I for one do not want an almost entirely aggro meta just because of one card even merely existing.
Gr8 post Darksun. Thanx for your sanity. The mulligan woes then..
The thing is whats the point in creating cool new achtype and strategies when they also make a card that just destroyes your opponents deck and completly bypass your opponents strategy. You also forget that Tickatus makes Cthun completly unplayable cause it mills the spell parts. A card like this is not healthy at all. We have a control deck that its entire purpose is to grief and dissrupt other controls decks. As a control Priest player i know that Tickatus is an auto lose for me cause im not able to beat him quick enough. If other control decks are not allowed to exist as long as Warlock is around then we just have a super aggro meta again. Ofc not every match is against Warlock but i pretty much have no choice then hard teching against warlock at this point. Im legit thinking of putting Nomi in the deck so when im comepletly milled i can go for a full 6:6 elemental board.
Nomi indeed is a fantastic shout! What a tech card if there ever was one :D .
I tried playing a few games with Tickatus decks and they felt ridiculously inconsistent. All the late game decks have some means of smashing your face in if the midgame, and the tickatus plan B of playing discounted dreadlords is just not very exciting compared to everything else.
I agree that it feels terrible to lose to it with a midrange/control deck, where if they get tickatus discounted and then copy it, you have no way to interact.
Because the effect is unique to one card, but so powerful and has no real counterplay, I think the card is currently a mess.
Good tot see that so many people are on the same page about this card. I think cards that mess with your opponents deck is always a bad Idea. It alsof mills of combo decks that deserve a spot in any meta.

In matches Tickatus was played at least once to mill Me -
Standard - 4/5 I had cards in deck (sdh, secret rogue). Wild - 2/4 (secret and quest mage). Won 9/9.
It's a greedy card that is anti greedy decks, so you get greedy whiners.

There’s always a Twisting Nether held back just for that. Believe me, I’ve tried.
So I've been seeing a lot of posts about Tickatus recently (even made one myself on it's card page) but after having then gotten the card from level 25 in the tavern pass and played with it myself, it kind of feels like people are actually being a bit too dramatic? Or at least, we have a very vocal minority here.
It's reasonable to say that a majority of my games i haven't even been able to play tickatus - including a lot of my wins - and i still lose just as many games after playing him as i win. In this pretty aggro meta we seem to have forming, he's not anything insane.
Again, this is just my experience, but it really don't feel like the game breaking card everyone says it is.
That doesn't change the fact that it's effect really isn't a healthy one for the game, but still, it shouldn't be outright nerfed, because then it would just be bad - some kind of rework would be perfectly fine. Or just leave it like it is, which is honestly what I'm expecting Blizzard to do.
Yeah, I haven't had any significant problems playing against Tickatus. I win some, I lose some - and probably more of the former.
Most recent Tickatus Warlock I faced milled ten of my cards, including my reassembled C'Thun, the Shattered, and then domed me for 10 with Y'Shaarj, the Defiler while I had Eye for an Eye up. Allowed me to finish him off with a Pyroblast to the face. You know, all those cards you expect to see in Rogue... ;)
Please dont complain about anticontrol cards were nowadays 9 out of 10 games are against a brainless ultra aggro deck(anykind of DH, hunter, shamman) we need several aggro nerfs so we can have again games of more than 4-6 turns.
Ive always liked aggro but i really dont wanna play those aggro decks we have nowadays, im bored of them and in this meta you have 2 options, play those aggro so you can win something or dont play.
I don't think Tickatus is the issue really ... I think the card that needs to be nerfed is Y'Shaarj ... personally I think that card is the big issue here to allow the player to get more copies of corrupted cards in an easy manner ... I'd like to see "They cost (0) this turn." be removed from that card.
I can't stand it when cards make other cards cost (0) ... See Dragonqueen Alex pre-nerf etc. ... either make them cost (1), or half-cost, rounded up, cost (2) less, etc. ... so that the opponent has a turn to react to a 10/10 just dropped on the board.

I once came with a knife to a gunfight where i got lucky because he missed and i won.
It's not that you can't beat them (Although Control pretty much auto loses) it's how frustrating to play against it.

May be a bit steep Cakey.
What about three? Discard 5 for the oppo; 3 of your own.

dont unterstand why blizzard hired boarcontrol and other pro player if a fucking ape could design the cards better.
but at least we have the useless 200 000 $ tourney.
This card should never have been printed. It just feels awful to lose to this card. And it makes no sense - NONE - that the stats on it are so strong.
Every time they release a card they should ask the question, "Will this piss people off?" If the answer is "yes, yes, yes", don't make it.
I can handle losing. But losing to asshole cards like this just makes the game experience miserable.
Yeah, I haven't had any significant problems playing against Tickatus. I win some, I lose some - and probably more of the former.

Tickatus-style disruption is an interesting and useful counter to combo decks. Otherwise it'd only be aggro decks trying to go under them.
