So the obvious 8 mana combo is Mustard+Quartermaster to get 11/14 in stats on the board and a 1/4 weapon. Regardless, if you've been in control with your tokens, this is an amazing card. In the weakest of senses, this is a 7 mana 5/8.
Folks who complained about no late-game play for Muster for Battle are now answered. Turn 8, Muster followed up with Quartermaster and your empty board has suddenly got some teeth and you've got a weapon to boot. A weak one, but sometimes one point of damage is the deciding factor between winning and losing.
The problem with the card is that it might be a little slow. It does give a hell of a buff to your tokens, but if your opponent has board control this card is pretty dead, yeah you can hero ability play this for 7 mana in a pinch and make 5/8 worth of stats, That is a pretty solid stat distribution for 7 mana but it is split into 2 creatures. The 8 mana combo of muster for battle and this is great but again that may be too slow. I want a token Pali to succeed and be viable and this card does some amazing things, but will it come down fast enough with a big impact on the board consistently enough?
It's confirmed that there's no rhyme or reason to blizzzard stat distribution. 5 for a 2/5 that can only buff a single type of minion? One that dies to literally anything? I mean, i like the effect, i like the body but 5 mana just makes zero sense.
If you see a bad post on the forum use the report function under it, so I or someone else of the moderation team can take care of it!
The best card for pally in GvG. And it's better then Bolvar for the same cost.
Muster for battle combo, very good card.
It's all sorts of meh.

For all those paladin players crying for hero power synergy. Still think its meh...

I like it.
Is that you Heavy?
Vision without action is a dream. Action without vision is a nightmare.
Token Paladin, GO!

synergy with muster for battle?
That RNG tho. BroncsRoc#1880
So from GvG we've got a 1/7 and a 2/5 from which we can deduct that we are supposed to be also playing BoK and BoM
Could be even better if you manage to keep your Hobgoblin alive from the previous turn...
Hobgoblin + Muster for Battle + Quartermaster = new comeback strategy :).
Hobgoblin doesn't work with Silver Hand Recruits because you aren't "playing" them.
In that case, forget about Hobgoblin...what about Sword of Justice? Would that synergise with Muster for Battle?
Dear Quartermaster:
Please put on some pants. You look like a warrior berzerker, not a guy who hands out weapons and armor.
Sincerely,
Sparhawk
Still want to know if this works with Paladin's Hero Power. The difference between "play a 1/1" and "summon a 1/1" could be huge.
Bolvar + this + frost wolf+ muster+avenge
Kill my 1/1s? Avenge and Bolvar.
Leave the 1/1s alone? Giant frost wolf or 3/3s with charge now.
Why Blizzard loves recruits so much... Chances are it may make weenie pally viable, but I really doubt it.
