I've been watching streamers play Mecha'thun priest with Hemet, without the quest. It looks like it's... fairly consistent, and actually kinda fun and cool. I know a lot of aggro decks aren't optimized yet, but that also means lots of control decks especially aren't optimized. I'm almost starting to believe that crafting Mecha'thun wouldn't be a mistake, even though I thought it would be pure garbage and meme tier at first lol. It just seems like it plays like an actual interactive combo deck.
The only problem is, yes, I would need to craft Hemet. Or, if I went the druid route, I'd have to craft Floop and his Glorious Gloop. I'm still sitting at about 4000 dust... Has anyone else crafted Mecha'thun without regrets so far?

It looks fun. As more ppl keep adding silence to counter the magnetic effect of mechs however it becomes an increasingly risky proposition that the deathrattle gets silenced.
But my experience with HS is that while having a few of the top decks and climbing ladder to legend is fun, it’s more fun to play the cards you want. You already know you want to play around with the MechaC’thun deck, make it and have some fun! (Just my two cents)
I was fortunate enough to pack a golden one and ignored it for a while til I saw it in even warlock. It’s actual viable and a ton of fun when the combo goes off. Also it’s resistant to silence.
I’m wondering the same thing. I have Mecha Warlock, and priest looks fun as well. However, I don’t have Hemet, and it’s an awe fully expensive craft for next to no utility outside of this deck. Worth it?

He sees play in Shudderwock shaman, if all else fails at least you can play it in shudderwock shaman.
If you're a wild player as well, there will always be some sort of combo deck that can use him effectively and his effectiveness will increase with more rotations as more variety in 1-3 mana cards come out. If not, he rotates in 8 months so unless you plan on playing Mecha'thun decks fairly extensively, he'll be gone before you get a ton of mileage out of him.
Mecha'thun was my day one craft, and I have NO regrets whatsoever! I originally crafted him for my only theorycraft, an evenlock quite similar to the one many are playing now. I had so much fun, I started to figure out how to make Mecha'thun decks with every class! Most of them are not viable (though so fun to play, and very satisfying when succesful), but both warlock and priest definetly is - I would probably say priest is the better of the two, but I've won more than lost with both decks. And I like the challenge of figuring out a viable combo for each class. I've literally played nothing but Mecha'thun decks since the expansion release... I do understand your hesistance to crafting Hemet, but IMO Mecha'thun is worth crafting for other decks as well, especially evenlock to which he is a nice addition.
tl;dr: Mecha'thun is the most fun I've had in a long time and viable in different decks in different classes. Craft!
I have Mecha’thun, so I’m good with warlock. If I want to play priest or shaman I need Hemet but man it feels like such a lame craft. I’ll wait on it to see if I still want to try those decks. The priest one is pretty cool, so I may break down and craft Hemet. Honestly I feel like Aviana for druid is the better craft for a wild deck, but I can always come back to that later.
I don't like the priest version since it is so easily punished b Demonic Project that you basically lose any Warlock match-up that isn't Zoo.
If these combo decks take off it would be easy to add a Demonic Project to the zoo deck. Druid MechaC’thun is easy to beat. They usually have to play it all on one turn. So when the decks empty and they have 4 or 5 cards play Demonic Project. Its usually a fast conceded from them after that.
The first thing I did this expansion was craft Mecha'thun.
I'm having a blast, but the nature of the card is that it only supports one very specific type of deck and type of play. Even if the combo-control "stay alive until I otk you" kinda deck looks neat, if it's not really your favorite playstyle you will get very bored very fast.
It looks like lots of people are actually having fun with him haha. The pre-order bundle got me a gold Whizbang, who I'm very tempted to disenchant (since I do try to ladder aggressively every month - and making it legend with Whizbang doesn't appeal to me lol).
It is cool to have an all golden deck though... But if I disenchanted him, I could more easily craft some of these crazy combo decks without hurting my dust collection too much. I just wonder if maybe I waited too long and now everybody knows how to play against Mecha'thun priest or druid lol.

id say wait, i also need hemet for priest, but just for 1 deck waste 1600 dust? i dont know, not worth it IMO

If you are in your first year of playing please read this post.
Dust does not burn a hole in the jar. Be careful what you craft, especially before and right after a rotation.
