1) Made a rouge card. They need the help, since they really haven't been given much recently, the other two classes that use the card don't.
2) Change to 1 health. This makes it much easier to kill, virtually ensuring it doesn't last long enough to do much damage.
3) Make it's base stats 2/2 and make it a 2 mana minion. This would actually be pretty interesting, but its also a nerf that almost targets Rouge, which is the only class that really needs the card.
Honestly, if people would just stop complaining and put that energy into being a better player that would be productive. Just deal with it. It's not that hard if you understand the meta and know how to play.
Thing is kiddos will always find something they want to nerf. Everytime something gets nerfed tho blizzard completely destroys the card. Only card I can think of not being destroyed is Knife Juggler
maybe change Small-Time Buccaneer to only get +1 attack from weapons. I wouldnt cry about that.
I still think that STB isn't an issue. Yes 3/2 for 1 can be annoying but playing a weapon MOST of the time is a tempo loss. The only tempo gain is from the 3/3 for 4 mana that gives a 2/2 weapon or nzoth's first mate... both of which aren't very good in themselves. The only benefit of a 1/3 weapon is being able to upgrade it to a 3/5 through 2 upgrades.
I still felt that Cogmaster was way better as the mechs had good synergy AND tempo. I miss that type of synergy in today's game. The closest you get now is patches coming from a pirate and murloc synergy. A tiny bit from beast druid but it still doesn't have the mech feel of mech tempo/aggression.
ugh that ugly four letter word always pops up...just because something beats you doesn't mean you scream NERF!!!! make a deck that is capable of dealing with pirate weenies!
I have yet to be killed by pirate warrior because i play cards that kill pirate warrior...there's a board wipe for every class...play it!

Wait, what? Cheap weapons are some of the absolute most insane tempo tools in hearthstone. Fiery war axe kills most things that your opponent can play on turn 2. And then, it will also at least help kill whatever they play on turn 3. Eating 4-5 of their mana for two of yours, and allowing you more freedom to develop on turn 3. It's a similar story for basically every other cheap weapon, you develop them early, and can use them to take care of multiple turns worth of plays from your opponent.
Even 1 attack weapons can be incredibly powerful. Does anyone remember muster for battle? Muster for battle's win rate on turn 3 was the highest of any card played on curve, and that was in no small part due to the flexibility and power of a 1/4 weapon early.
Warrior wanted to have fiery war axe on turn 2 every game in every deck before buccaneer existed, because it gives you both value and tempo. This effect is especially pronounced in the first couple of turns where trading off your life barely matters. Thus, small-time buccaneer was an extremely easy fit. Cogmaster is a much different card, because most decks don't want to play mechs on turn 2 every game. Cogmaster was a tool for a very specific deck type, whereas small-time buccaneer is a tool for every class with good cheap weapons.
I don't think STB is the problem at all, same with pathes. The problem is that the only solid heal in the game to get you to the late game is Reno and this card has such a huge swing that it usually decides the game. If there were other options for non aggro decks that had LESS of an impact than Reno but could still slow down aggros- such as heal bot or belcher, there would be less dependancy on Reno.
Currently, the meta looks like this:
Draw Reno- aggro decks have no chance.
Don't draw Reno- control decks have no chance.
Lately the only interesting match ups are decks without Pirates or Reno (miracle rogue, jade druid, etc.) or mirror match ups.

Still not sure if I hate Hearthstone...or love it.
It's not the pirates, it's the endless whine about aggro, but guess what, aggro will always be there.
Pirate Warrior and Aggro Shaman are cancer, bro. Players like me will never stop complaining about cancer decks (especially if they are aggro ones), we are legion my friend, and no one can stop us.

Lol, without Reno Jackson, Aggro Shaman and Pirate Warrior would be almost unstoppable. WTF are you talking about?
There are no decisions to be made when a game ends on turn 4, so there is no defending this PoS card or any other broken 1 drop, including the likes of tunnel trogg.

It's not a tempo loss when the weapon is used to go face and is grown in durability at the same time.
If it weren't for all these Pirates, Renos would be completely unchecked, and every game would take 15+ minutes. I'm fine with losing some annoying aggro matchups to not face nonstop Reno decks.

My person best nerf options in order:

Pirate warrior was already very powerfull before Small-Time Buccaneer.
Also, you don't need Small-Time Buccaneer to win as pirate warrior. Just test it
not going to take a discussion seriously when you can't spell defense correctly
Weapon Based Priest is all you need in life
Stops your challenges with a knife
It's a deck that everyone should play
You should make it, try it today.
Pretty easy nerf..just make stb a 0/3..2/3 aren't cancerous and just help control andnmidrange early game

They need to make more tribes with tribal synergy :D
