I'm really digging the highlander support, and the whole trend of making legendaries less universal and more specialized. I'm not sure why they decided Kabal would be the home of the no-duplicate mechanic, but maybe it's just that Warlock and Mage already had the best Reno decks.
I forgot the "ETC." Pretty much any situational spell. I mean seriously, how can anyone not see the potential in this card? Hi, I've whitled you down and oops! Is that a turn 7 Pyroblast? Sorry about your face.
To be quite honest, I'm very glad mages got a legendary such as this over priests. We still haven't seen the priest legendary so this may be a bit premature and this is all based on personal preference.
I think Inkmaster Solia is a solid card, worthy of being legendary. A very powerful effect for sure and I'm confident we'll be seeing a fair number of highlander mage in the post MSG meta. It's why I voted meta-defining. That being said though, I personally am not a fan of the highlander mechanic. I don't care to build a deck of 30 different card, or decks that are restricted to very few duplicate cards.
It seems like they're really pushing the highlander theme for mages and I think that's okay. They'll have access to Kazakus, they're going to be getting Manic Soulcaster which is another card that seems designed specifically for highlander decks and now they'll be getting Inkmaster Solia. For priests though, I hope they push less highlander and more dragon. Until we find out though, grats mages on an interesting and powerful legendary.
Think about it, Reno will be moved to the classic set for sure.
Have they announced they'll be moving outgoing expansion cards to the classic set?
No not at all. and I don't think it will happen... What will happen however is that when he gets rotated out they'll add an extra legendary to keep Highlander decks viable. It may not be "obvious" that he's being rotated into standard, but what is obvious is that they want to keep highlander deck types going.
I think build arounds like reno realy belong into classic set, Reno deckas are changing with every cardpool released so its not like they stay the same foreever but if reno leaves those decks will become unplayable that would just suck, but it might even be unplayable after all we dont know jade Lotus Faction Ability.
And Meta will most likely be strongest faction = wins. Its unclear if thats realy reno. Also with rogue cards still to go there could be some new OTHK decks incomming.
Back to this card, i like it. Its good top play with slow cards like cabal tome so you wont loose to much tempo while playing it. And 7 mana is in most games a time where you want to play draw to refill your hand so this is auto include in reno mage for me. Question remains were reno mage will stand in comming meta, impossible to say yet with only half the set released.
Everyone is missing the most important thing about this card - the art itself!
Seriously, I don't even know what is going on in the picture other than the chick is giving a demon a glowing tattoo? And part of her face is messed up?
This might be my favorite card art yet, out of all the expansions/adventures. I can't wait to see the golden version of this.
the good part is that is a narrow niche card. If you want to play highlander craft her just after Kazakus. if dont want to play a highlander, that is my case for now, if she comes from a pack she will be welcome, if dont i doubt i craft her.
Said so i think is a great card for that type of decks and that if Blizzard puts some more cards with the mechanic highlander can survive the April deadline.
Also Arch-Thief Rafaam
Ever seen a Firelands Portal put two 5/5 bodies on the table? Well now you have.

I... I love him.

My favorite deck to play right now is Reno Mage. The deck is totally getting hooked up this expansion it looks like, so I am excited.

I predict some high-cost broken spell will be previewed in a few days.
I'm not that hyped either, actually I think that it is a bit disappointing...
12 wins in ArenA with: Mage and Paladin, first time legend with Rogue
reno mage suck
terrible draw, burn, remorval
This is a mediocre and boring card. I don't like its effect at all and it's very weak compared to other highlander condition cards.
